While this is true, it also means that every libram in the game except [Libram of Souls Redeemed] is now absolutely worthless to a raiding Holy Pally. Likewise I'm sure [Totem of Healing Rains] is going to be the sole Totem for Shamans now. Is that what Blizzard really wants, all of the Sunwell-clearing healers to be stuck using Kara relics because of some stupid haste crap from PvP? Sorry, but that is piss poor reasoning and piss poor itemization to the maximum degree.

The other thing worth mentioning is that relic swapping was not a requirement at all (you can be very successful not doing it). It was simply something that provided some small benefit and a little bit of spice to the two most mind-numbingly boring healing systems in the game (CH heal spam for Shamans, HL downrank Spam/FoL spam for pallys).

I think this may be a bug where just as the flag is capped you can pick up the capping teams flag.

If the Curse of Elements changes makes Affliction raid worthy, first you have to see how much dps you lose, with BT gear on my Warlock, it is about 500 dps moreso with Sunwell gear.

Then how much you gain, 2.7% more Shadow/Fire damage.

Say you have 2 SPriests with 1500 dps, and 2 Mages and 3 Warlocks with 2000 dps (One Warlock lost 500), so that gives another 338 dps with the Malediction curse, so the answer is no for min-max, but it isn't as bad as it was before.
You are overlooking that one of the warlocks are now going to be able to cast a damage curse or recklessness depending on number of warlocks present.

Like you said, that's just bad itemization. Switching items during spell GCD required macros/addons to do, clearly wasn't intended by the developers (since they trigger a GCD when not casting a spell), and needed to be removed. Hopefully this sort of itemization won't be such an issue in WOTLK.

Interesting patch, but most of these seem to be bugfixes. The buffs to the Yeti Fur quest in Winterspring have been long overdue; I had to clear that yeti cave multiple times before I got all the quest drops.

It's nice to see that apprentice riding is reduced to a L30 requirement, it'll make STV much easier to get around in. My 39 twink will have to buy riding as soon as this patch rolls out.

Plenty of nerfs to MgT; I expect to see more of them as the patch gets closer to release. I think we all expected MgT to get the nerfbat sooner or later.

Amusing that Blizzard is introducing new Tailoring patterns this late in the expansion. Encouraging people to powerlevel Tailoring for WotLK perhaps?

Well I'm guessing the Haliscan items are lvl 40-something, and Herb Bags didn't have an upgrade in TBC yet. And the currently biggest Herb Bag needs Cenarion Circle rep to get the pattern, something very few people are still willing to do now.

Also, with 22-slot bags rumored to come out, that would make the current Herb Bags give only 2 extra slots, not much for specialist bags.

Edit: new info up on MMO-Champion - World of Warcraft Guides and Raid Strategies

Seems that the four items (besides the bag) sold by Haris Pilton are all statless, as are the Haliscan Tailoring items.

Interestingly enough, the new Haliscan items are item levels 35 and 36- allowing the application (to the jacket at least) of the higher level enchants. Maybe Blizzard got tired of all of the twinks wearing dresses?

Unless my testing was wrong, previously any rank of Lightning Bolt with an LO proc would fire a maximum rank Lightning Bolt.

1200 gols is less than the money you typically make from two bear-selling runs. It might not be the best investment for money, but it's not that big an amount anyway. I think the best money sink are the convenience ones anyway so props for the bags.

Haris Pilton is Lower City aligned on live, is she changed to no faction on the PTR? I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere, if she remains unchanged then the bag is 'only' 960g.

Or perhaps the bags start at a higher price and 1200 was the already-rep-reduced price output? Honestly, I hadn't considered that option until you mentioned it, but now it seems very likely. And silly.

The item swapping thing I presume affects more than just paladins and shamans.

Int staff for mages, Spirit staff for priests, +Damage weapon for priests to use shadowfiends with. Still do able, just much more annoying....

Caster weapon swapping Spellsurge. Because 10mp5 is worth the loss of 81 healing, amirite?

1500 gold does sound like a nice round number, 1200 with exalted.

The price is 1200 at Exalted, for what it's worth, although Haris isn't flagged as affiliated with Lower City anymore - or at least, not that it says in the tooltip.

The entire point of caster weapon swapping with Spellsurge getting the benefit of both while minimizing the loss.

That is, Spellsurge has a high proc rate, but a long internal cooldown, so you enchant your previous-generation healing weapon with Spellsurge and your current healing weapon with 81 healing. You go into combat with your Spellsurge weapon equipped, then switch to your healing weapon as soon as Spellsurge procs and you're in the 45 second cooldown.

Item-wise, the main addition apart from the bags mentioned above are new copies of the 6 epic gems that you could always buy for honor (Bold Ornate Ruby, Smooth Ornate Dawnstone, Inscribed Ornate Topaz, Runed Ornate Ruby, Gleaming Ornate Dawnstone, Potent Ornate Topaz.) The new versions are sold for 800 arena points each, and are not unique in any way; not Unique-Equipped like the honor ones. So, for the classes that utilize those specific gems, there's a new "arena point sink".

It's a great idea, to encourage players who can run at high arena levels to keep running those teams regularly, even once they get geared out for an arena season. Hopefully it will be expanded down the road to give more "consumable" type items, for all classes, to give an incentive for such players to play highly ranked teams regularly, to get enough arena points to purchase them.

That's her title. The Sunmote NPC is the <Transmuter of Sin'Dorei Relics> but is still affiliated with the Shattered Sun Offensive. Haris has no faction at all, from what I could see.

Kind of a disappointing that the other Haris Pilton items don't actually do anything. Some social commentary from Blizzard perhaps. I just hope that bag wasn't the only gold sink they were talking about.

Same here. I was just thinking the other day that buyable rep turn-ins for some of the factions would be a good way to get players to sink some gold. Say ... 1k gold worth of items from Honored to Revered, and another 1.5k from Revered to Exalted? Would be golden for alts.

Back on-topic, what the hell is up with people getting angry at a level 30 mount? Getting the walking part done faster is getting the walking part done faster.

And finally, I ran the numbers and a Rogue would need 444 resilience rating (11.25% crit chance reduction, 22.5% crit damage reduction) to get the full 90% damage reduction on a Cheat Death proc.

Not to mention cheaper. And it'll make Desolace a lot more doable, that zone seems to be designed with mounts in mind.

The first parts for Stormwind Harbour are showing up on the PTR... some NPCs and wagons and such at the northern canal wall between the Park and Cathedral districts in Stormwind. At this rate Stormwind Harbour will be finished before the inn in Westfall.
