actually the original tribes is the best game ever made.
Best netcode ever in history.
The engine was so ahead of its time.

I preferred Tribes 2, but the original Tribes was indeed FAR ahead of its time. My favourite memory of Tribes 2 was when Jadugar had me over and was like "Check out this game...it's ahead of its time and will never be appreciated for what it is due to that fact..."
He zoomed in so he could snipe one of two guys way off in the distance and was all "I'm gonna snipe one of em'..." then out of nowhere one of our friendly tanks came screaming into view and plowed over both of them, punting one of em' a good 20 meters.
I haven't laughed that hard at a FPS before or since. Once I found out I could impact people in shrikes, I was sold. As much fun as I had with all the Quake games and MMORPG's in life, the most fun multiplayer that I've ever had outside of Team Fortress was Tribes 2. Epic game. I mourn its passing.
As to other MMORPGS, I've not played much since EQ. E&B had promise and an awesome premise, but the wrong producers and developers so it was doomed to fail.
These guys are lucky I have the time to play WoW with em'. Where on earth would I find time for another MMORPG, or manage to tolerate the people within long enough to play it? I haven't even finished HL2 or KOTOR yet.
On an off note, Newcastle is king of all ales and "The Edge" was a good movie on its own merit, not strictly due to the fact that Anthony Hopkins is the ultimate actor.
Cheers to the Welsh. I'm going to bed.
