We always take 40 since we have around 90 or so for our 2 weekly MC clears. Taking less would be screwing people out of loot.

Back in the day, I organised a priest revolution of sorts in MC. We had an unusually large amount of priests that night (8), and in our supersecret priest channel (heal1), I got every priest to hit a mob with Shadow word pain at the same time. Knocked off every debuff and the raid went crazy, most with laughter, but a few idiots thought it was going to cause a wipe.

I've no doubt that our warlocks would blow a fuse and quit the game altogether were that to happen during one of our raids.
