From trolling the Beta forums.

Sapphiron - Felt like the encounter would be easy if we weren't all taking 1200 frost damage a tick, thus I presume, with frost resist, it will be one shot pretty regularly by anyone who did the fight at 60 (omg, give us FrR! PLZ! leveling professions on a toon to be deleted in a month is absolutely retarded).
So, perhaps with the addition of frost resist gear, it is now needed for Sapphiron, preserving the feel of Naxx @60 without the pain of farming Frozen Runes.

As such it's a near certainty there will be an epic set as well. Certainly won't be as overpowered as the FSW set was, but one would think it would still be better than the Naxx-10 gear at least. I still expect some sort of variant to the Primal Nether mechanic to be implemented, even if it is done in a way similar to the Northern Spices and Dragon's Eyes with dailies.
Seems doubtful, since they're already put in 3 two-piece "sets", one for each cloth type, that are BoE. There might be more to come but at this point I don't think we'll see a Frozen Shadoweave mark 2, and that the weird cloak dealies will be the tailoring perk.

I must have missed them, where are there BoP BSing weapons? I've only seen the various BoE weapons.

Sorry if this has been answered earlier. It's hard to scan 33 pages. What are likely going to be the best two professions for tanks in WotLK? Seems to me that leatherworking will be important with its leg and bracer enchants. The second profession has me unsure. Anybody have any thoughts?

Some profession changes in 8970:
Inscription

* Minor Inscription Research - Create random scrolls in an effort to discover new minor glyph recipes.
* Northrend Inscription Research - Compiles your experiences from the day, creating a random assortment of inscribed works. You are very likely to discover new major glyph recipes this way. [Changed from discovering "new glyph recipes" before.]

Alchemy

* Mighty Thoughts - Now a Guardian Elixir from Battle Elixir.
* Mixology - Now also effects duration: "You receive an increased effect and duration when you drink any elixir or flask you are able to make."

Jewelcrafting

* Many crafting times substantially lowered.

Tailoring

* Many crafting times substantially lowered.

Enchanting

* Enchant Gloves - Minor Haste - Now increases haste rating by 10 instead of melee and ranged haste rating.
* Enchant Bracer - Healing Power - Permanently enchant bracers to increase spell power by 15, up from 13.
* Enchant Bracer - Superior Healing - Permanently enchant bracers to increase spell power by 15, down from 16.
* Enchant Gloves - Greater Spell Strike renamed Enchant Gloves - Precision - Permanently enchant gloves to increase hit rating by 20. Requires a level 60 or higher item.
* Enchant Weapon - Major Healing - Permanently enchant a melee weapon to increase spell power by 40, down from 43.
* Enchant Ring - Healing Power - Permanently enchant a ring to increase spell power by 12, up from 11.

WotLK Beta (US-English) Forums -> Motorcycle Mount is OP

The motorcycle is intended to be a FUN mount that lets you and a buddy cruise around the world in style. It will be an engineering crafted item that will not require engineering to own/drive.

Good to hear that engineers will be getting a cool recipe that everyone can use.

According to quick testing, Mixology now increases (in addition to the power increase) elixir duration to 2 hours and flask duration to total of 4 hours! Elixir of Shadow Power (30mins duration) was upgraded to 1 hour, so I guess the duration buff is a 100% increase. Does not affect potions which is too bad, but I guess elixirs and flasks are enough. A very nice buff.

The leg enchants are BOE, so anyone will benefit.

Right now, for pure stamina increases LW + BS is tops (assuming that Fur Linings stack with the BS gem socket and from a Paladin's POV).

LW offers 90 stamina or 74 stamina more than the enchanting bracer enchant (assuming the Fur Lining does NOT stack with the +16 stam enchant).

BS offers 2 uncolored sockets, which is 60 stamina using WotLK epic gems, 48 stamina using rare gems. It is also flexibility, as these are uncolored gem sockets, you can gem for defense or avoidance, whatever you are lacking if you don't want to stamina stack.

JC offers a so-so trinket, and 3 "master" gems that are +41 stamina, so 33 stamina total gained over using epic gems in the same slots. JC actually looks better for warriors, as their set (T7) is full of red sockets that these 41 stamina gems can fill, leading to a 87 stamina increase over using rare quality purple (str/stam or dodge/stam) gems and still activating the socket bonuses.

Alchemy offers a so-so trinket and Mixology, which increases the effects and duration of flasks and elixirs. It is a 50% effect increase and a 100% duration increase. So your Flask of Stoneblood goes from 650 HP and 2 hours, to 975 HP and 4 hours. You gain 325 HP and save some $$.

Enchanting offers +24 stamina to each ring, for a total of 48 stamina.

Inscription offers +32 dodge rating over the rep based shoulder enhancement.

Mining offers a flat 500 HP bonus. Skinning offers some crit rating (more or less useless from a tank POV).

Tailoring and Engineering don't offer much.

If you are right -- and I sincerely hope you are not right -- then tailoring is an unbelievably terrible profession. It's on par with alchemy for terribleness, if not worse.

Let's be clear, crafting professions have historically only been money makers if they've allowed you to make rare terrific items (e.g. early Arcanite Reaper or equivalent) or things people need in bunches (e.g. potions or to a lesser extent gems). If tailoring is to return to its pre-BC horridness, then casters are generally all well served to drop it and pick up pretty much anything that isn't garbage and provides at least a comparable bonus.

Awww I'm so sad they removed the glyph mastery for Inscription, why am I going to take it now? They'll be going to make those offhands and shoulder enchants alot better than they are now for me to take it. Any news to when we'll see a big implementation of new recipes?

Thanks Halion for the break-down. I'm sure I'm missing something but the leg enchants seem to be bop?Frosthide Leg Armor - Item - World of Warcraft. Also, BS socketing is BOE as I read it. This would make BS a good money making profession, but unneccesary for a tank to pick as he can just buy sockets. Therefore it seems like JC or enchanting is next best. As you mentioned, +41 sta for JC (which may be increased based on socketing bonuses) and +48 sta for enchanting. I know there are some truly epic tanks on these forums. What are you guys choosing?

Socket One-Handed Weapon - Spell - World of Warcraft can be enchanted on any 1H-weapon.
Titanium Belt Buckle - Spell - World of Warcraft can be sold on the AH.
Socket Bracer - Spell - World of Warcraft is for BS only.
Socket Gloves - Spell - World of Warcraft is for BS only.

If it stays like it is BS and LW are the best professions for maximizing stats.

Only the person in possession of the Leg Armor can apply it to their item. However, the Leg Armor Kit itself is not BOP, so you buy the kit (the item you linked) and then apply it to your armor.

Also, socket 1-H weapon isn't implemented at the moment and not sure if it ever will be. You get a bracer and glove socket from being a blacksmith. And everyone gets a belt socket.

The biggest question still floating around is, "Does the Fur Lining stack with the BS socket?" I'm unsure if anyone has even attempted to test this, but until that question is answered, my profession choices are in flux.

Many high-end recipes now use Frozen Orb, the new version of Primal Nethers.

Inscription picked up a couple of high-end BoE epic off-hands. Faces of Doom and Iron-Bound Tome. Wowhead will have the links up shortly, I hope.

Dream Shard is now used for buying enchanting recipes over 425 skill level. Weapon enchants are 5 Dream Shards, non-weapon enchants are 2 Dream Shards.

Heavy Borean Leather and Arctic Fur are used for various Leatherworking recipe purchases.

Someone said that LW fur enchant doesn's "stack" with BS wrist socket.

Has yet to be confirmed by someone reputable.
