Not only that, you get access to the best leg enchant right away at 400. But only the medium BoE version. Seeing the troubles I have hit in regards to mats (I'm not that interested in farming non-Skinning mats while I level) this could be an issue for early raiding.

Is anyone aware of any plans to have inscription recipes drop in instances or be obtainable as rep rewards, like the patterns/recipes/schematics etc of all other professions? It would be quite nice to have a goal oriented way of advancing the profession and I fail to see why Blizzard has made it so the only way to learn new glyphs is through a 20 hour cooldown research ability.

I'd say that's the one thing they missed the boat on for all the professions. From what i can see only JC and Cooking utilize dailies in order to learn new recipes. Enchanting has to purchase their formula with Large Dream Shards: Armor enchants cost 4, Weapon enchants cost 10. It seems like a fairly lazy way to do it, when they could have put a daily or research formula in. JC still has a few recipes that are rep rewards as well and I have not found any rep reward enchanting or inscription formula.

There's definitely a significant monetary investment for enchanting in this expansion. I've been fed approximately 120-150 greens/blues in addition to all of my own green quest drops; I also purchased 60 infinite dust and 15x Greater Cosmic essence. All of those materials were only enough to barely reach 430 enchanting with the next leveling recipes becoming ridiculously expensive.

To follow up with Roywyn's observations earlier: Fire Seeds are not working. I bug reported it and would suggest all herbalists do so. Fire Leaf does work properly with the appropriate penalty and attack power buff. The spawn rates on these only seem tied to each other and not the other herbs in the zone so they should be very quick to farm once they're working properly.

As far as Tailoring is concerned I hope they continue in the spirit of TBC and have raid-acquired patterns for BoP items. I like the fact that they offer slightly better stats than items dropped in the zone, but at a significant cost. One thing I wish they would change, however, is the random drop nature. Blizzard could easily put these type of patterns on the Badge of Valor vendor for a fairly trivial cost. IE if you have a crafting profession, you're raiding a certain tier of an instance enough to get, say 10 badges, and are willing to shell out the cash you would always have access to these nice items.

I'm completely confused by the magic carpet listings on the various sites (wowhead, thottbot). How many versions of the carpet made it to live? What skill are they trained at?

I see a regular speed, an epic speed (Magnificent) and then 3 timer-cloth versions. Where are the recipes obtained? Have they been removed from the game and consolidated?

It cost me about 50k gold to level enchanting to 450 (server first). That includes leveling a miner to smelt saronite, an alchemist to transmute a titanium bar, and a blacksmith to create a titanium rod. I also bought herbs for my scribe to create stacks of [Armor Vellum III] -- not strictly required, but it helps recoup some of the initial investment through selling the enchanted scrolls.

Being on a PvE server, I bought out about 400 greens from both the Alliance and Horde AH. The bottleneck was a shortage of weapons needed for a higher droprate on Cosmic Essences. Beyond about 430, I bought out blues at an average of 200g each to DE for dream shards. Fortunately the recipe [Formula: Enchant Gloves - Armsman] can get to 450 without the use of Abyss Crystals.

Can any LWers confirm if drums have been removed totally from level 80 content, or if they are merely on a "once per fight" mechanic like potions?

Drums just don't affect anyone level 80 or above. If you look at the item description you can see.

[Drums of Battle], [Drums of Restoration], and [Drums of War] all explicitly state they do not affect level 80 targets.

(edit: I'm too slow.)

Regarding 400 cooking: Do we really have to make a few dozen [Great Feast]s? Or am I missing something?

One of my guildies scored a [Damaged Necklace] yesterday, which provided me with a (level 77) quest to donate 1x[Chalcedony] in order to recieve 1x[Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Token]. Pretty much a free token, very nice. I was also very surprised to recieve a BoP JC Recipe lastnight which has a 1% chance to drop from any Mammoth in Northrend. ([Accurate Monarch Topaz])

After discovering this, I decided to put together a list of all non-vendor BoP JC recipes:
That's all I could find for now. All of the other recipes are Token Rewards, Reputation Rewards, or purchased from a Trainer.

Is the Damaged Necklace quest repeatable? I had a necklace ready to go when I hit 77, which might be considered a bit of a problem - why are you able to get these so long before you're able to use them? Not going to complain, though...

I'm not sure you need to be 77 to do it, just that it's considered a level 77 quest? I have confirmed you can't use them at 70 but it may be usable at a little lower level perhaps.

So is it possible at all to even reach 450 Tailoring with green patterns? I'm stuck at 449 after making at least 20 Frostweave Bags and Frostsavage Boots. Bad RNG or simply not possible to cap it with green patterns?

Has anyone seen any BoP blacksmith patterns? When checking at Wowhead there is a distinct lack of them.

I tested it every level up to 77. 77 is a requirement, not just the quest level.
