That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Like we don't have enough on our plate with Arthas, Deathwing, the Infinite Dragonflight and any remaining Old God's.
We've just won 3 victories against them, that you name. Beating back KJ, and banishing Mal'ganis and Varimathras again. I don't see why we'd go chasing them to other worlds when we've got so much going on at home.

For what it's worth they actually did hint that there would be a raid or five man attached to the Argent Tournament stuff. From Argent Tournament Timing? | General | WoW Blue Tracker | World of Raids quoth Zarhym: "No, the coliseum will not be PvP-related, at least not as far as the current plan goes, though it will be instanced. We'll have more information on this down the road."
That would be sweet if it were that and not trolls. I'm still fully expecting a troll raid, though, with a Coliseum five man.

If this was the oft-suggested "holodeck" where you could fight 80 versions of old-world bosses at will (a'la FFX's monster arena) I'd be quite happy.
Or if it's simply a series of 10 boss fights with no trash, where you get loot after every 3.

I know this question is only partially related to the WotLK lore, but anyway: Does anyone know if Blizzard will release a cinematic trailer in the fashion of those they released prior to the Black Temple and Sunwell launch? In these trailers Akama and/or Kael Thas told the backstory of the dungeon. I ask this, because i used to use the speeches of these trailers for my guild's videos and would very much like to do that again. I, however, do not know in how far i can count on this, given the fact that there already is a "trailer" (which only shows footage and nothing specifically lore-related).

Nah, that was a teaser. They may not release a trailer, but if they do, that definitely wasn't it.

Well since it is being finished with 3.2 then it could be a 5 man that comes in that patch along with the secret raid.

There have been hints as far back as blizzcon '07 that they had planed out raids to legion worlds for TBC but went with Sunwell instead. We have the events of wrathgate with Vermathas attempting to summon someone unknown, a few loose threads surrounding the lost windrunner sister, Also Mal'Ganis showing up at the end of a Icecrown quest chain. Perhaps they will tie Arthas in to provide a few threads to a 3.3 Icecrown raid.
|
I doubt we will do anything with Outland. Now Metzen did say back at one of the Blizzcons (I think it was the last one) that they wanted to get out a instance which used one of the portals in Outland so we could meet/save Alleria. He mentioned they were going to get that out before WotLK or shortly after WotLK but it seems that idea was probably scrapped again. And of all the speculated instances I think that one is the least likely for 3.2.

Outlands will probably be a venue in the long-term future. As in, after Azshara is defeated. Because at that point where else are we going to go? (Unless the Pandareans are corrupted and we discover Panderia is really an island half the size of Kalimdor!)
Okay, I forgot Emerald Dream. But after Emerald Dream / Maelstrom / South Seas there won't be any land mass left in Azeroth, the next step of course is to venture to Argus or Xorith (or Elemental Planes) or wherever hell the else in the Twisting Nether. (Personally, I'd love to see the Ethereum homeworld, though I don't think we'd ever go there).

There actually was a blue post that specifically mentioned a Coliseum raid in 3.2. The problem with me bringing this up is that the blue post (and perhaps the entire thread) disappeared within an hour or two.
A blue screwed up, admitted to a Coliseum raid in 3.2, and the thread was removed before too many people saw it. There was, however, another thread that day that made reference to the content of the blue post (The thread basically said, "so, the 3.2 raid is a Coliseum raid. Thoughts?" And then turned into more people speculating).
I really hate the fact that I don't have proof, but I'm sure there has to be at least one or two other people around that saw the same post.

iirc, it was mentioned early in TBC's development that there were plans for six or so portal worlds... obviously those weren't implemented and the portals lying around Outland are a testament to this. And honestly I doubt we'll see them implemented until the fourth or fifth expansion.
It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the content planned for these portal worlds was actually folded into Outland... most of the zones there would have made sense as pretty much their own worlds.

With all the blue-tracking tools out there, I doubt that this would have gone unarchived if it had actually occurred.

Well with all the trackers out there you would think it woulld of been archived. And even then it could of easily been a mistake by that poster to call it a raid. Or it could end up being the 'Wintergrasp' raid for 3.2.

I don't know about the supposed slip about a Colosseum raid, but instancing doesn't necessarily indicate a 5-man or a raid. All it means is that the arena part of it will be instanced so that when you're doing your own tournament fights you're not bumping shoulders with the 300 other people trying to do it also.

Pretty cool writeup on wowhead's blog today: Nordic Northrend - The Wowhead Blog
It has to deal with the Norse mythology and how Blizzard created the WotLK lore around it.

Amusingly, it looks like the Wowhead article forgot Tyr as well.
We need a grassroots "bring back Tyr" movement.

The funny thing is that I think I found the thread through a tracker. This leads me to believe that the tracker removed the thread, or that it was posted in an existing thread and was removed before the tracker caught it.
I know it's silly to post about it without proof, but I did see it in blue letters on the official forums. I was hoping someone else had spotted it as well.
Edit: after doing some looking, I find the quote that I saw in that thread ( World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> Focused Testing: Argent Tournament (3/18)
"The Argent Tournament is at the north of Icecrown, this is a new quest hub created to introduce the upcoming Coliseum raid instance in Patch 3.2."
This was posted on MMO-Champion's front page for a brief period, but was removed (or, at least, I can't find the mention of it). Regardless, I spotted it in blue text on the official forums. The fact that it was removed from MMO-Champion leads me to believe that Blizzard asked them to remove it.
I'd kill for a bluetracker that didn't update with edits. I think cardplace used to do that, but they don't even work anymore.
Long story short: You probably won't believe it unless you saw it, but we'll all know when 3.2 rolls around
