Surely he would have recognized the danger posed by an Old God being loose in the world.

The best I can come up with is that he thought Brann and his crew could handle it, and that the Horde couldn't afford to divert its attention.
On a related note, what is the official story of C'thun's death? Is it still something done by nameless adventurers, or has a lore figure replaced us (as happend with Varian / Onyxia and Mograine / Naxxramas)?

You can see examples of that in recent times too; compare WW1 and WW2 (Italy, Japan "switched"), or WW2 and the Cold War (Germany, Russia, China, etc), or a host of regional conflicts.
The one example of where Blizzard didn't really pull it off (which has occupied a few pages recently) was with the Blood Elves joining the Horde.

I'm slightly disappointed this year's Blizzcon won't have a WoW Lore panel, because I imagine there will be LOTS of questions about the leaked info.

Let's just hope someone gets a few lore questions in during the Open Q&A, rather than some screaming about buffs, nerfs and ponies.

1. The Preview Panel after the opening ceremonies, provided it's about Cataclysm, will likely answer a lot of these questions without issue.
2. I'll be at the show clawing my way to the front of Q&A lines. What kinds of questions would the community like asked?

I was hoping someone here would be able to do this. Okay here is one I have been wondering about.
Are there any plans to do anything with Tyr? (We got a vague, non-answer about him somewhere, so more info would be good).

My question would be whether they're planning to use more faction leaders other than Varian and Thrall (Mekkatorque, Vol'jin, Cairne, Tyrande, etc.), but I guess that does depend on the announcement.

Thanks for doing this, Crow. My question is this:
The four Watchers we face in Ulduar each have links to one of the 'classic' elements found in both eastern and western mythology (Freya for Nature/Earth, Hodir for Ice/Water, Mimiron for Metal/Fire and Thorim for Lightning/arguably Air).
Was this an intended decision? If so, what is Watcher Tyr's element?

Lol if you really wanted to get poetic you could say he's the Quintessence both because there's allusions to him representing valour/spirit and that no one has ever found him
A question I'd ask is with the (presumed) addition to Highborne to the NE race will there be any aesthetic changes available (not that Highborne have been depicted than anything other than regular NEs) for new Nightelves and other races now that there are more class combos being added and the lore points to support them.
Also what role if any will the War of the Ancients play in the expansion? A CoT raid of the War of the Ancients would be amazing.

Actually, this was a temporary bug with all buildings everywhere. You couldn't fly over building in Outland any more than you could fly over buildings in Northrend.

Quote from Boubouille on the MMOC forums, implying the Thrall developments wouldn't happen immediately with 4.0, but would unfold over patches:
|
I'm only worried about the Lore part, the Thrall / Garrosh thing, the source is reliable but if I can't get it personnaly confirmed I won't risk my hand on that. As far as I know it's definitely not patch 4.0 content anyway and it's possibly something we won't see before months after the release of Cataclysm.

Yeah, after reading the comic the idea of anyone being the Guardian other than Med'an looks ever more unlikely, since he fits so neatly with the plan to make the new Council more, ahem, ecumenical when it comes to magic types.
Unless, of course, Cho'gall succeeds in his plan to capture him and turns him instead into an immensely powerful antagonist. Speaking of Cho'gall, I usually dislike the art in the Warcraft comics, but what they're doing to him is really interesting. He would make a pretty awesome raid boss.

I don't really get the link between me'dan and the Old Gods.
He's the son of the last Guardian and he develops powers that make him the perfect candidate for Guardian of the New Council od Tirisfal.
Historicaly the Council fights again the Burning Legion, not the Old Gods. These 2 factions of super vilains are not connected as far I know.
Personnaly I could see Me'dan becoming a vessel for Sargeras thus having Legion agents hunting him, not Old God minions.

I'd appreciate seeing Sara cleared up a bit - she just feels out of place in the Y-S encounter. The change of her from Vrykul to Val'kyr seems odd too, since I still equate those to Scourge.
