I doubt they'd make a radically different 'raptor-form' for trolls, they'll probably roughly stick to the existing forms with a bit of added troll/worgen touch, i.e. a more tiger-like cat form with tusks for trolls, and who-knows-what for worgen (hyena?).

It was briefly continued in Northrend; somehow the Horde secured the Scythe, and then Alliance players stole it and handed it over to Arugal's wolfcult.

A recent post says the current plan is just a normal cat and bear form for Worgen and Trolls. The troll cat form will obviously be a tiger and the Worgen form would likely be a wolf like cat (like Nanaki from FF7).

It's actually pretty good at its concept. I expect something more lean, like the trolls themselves, but as an idea, this lynx-like form is good.
As for Worgen, well...it'll probably resemble nanaki, as was said above, which doesn't exactly leave me happy. But hey, Warhammer 40k also has some manga-inspired characters...I'll wait and see.
I still don't think it's too late for Blizzard to call it "predator-form". The above idea of trolls turning into raptors is interesting.

I always just assumed troll cat form would be something along the lines of a spirit beast, since there is one for them to worship in god form (or what not). Wind serpents as flight form would be insane.

The Spirit Beast Har'koa is a loa of the Drakkari Trolls though. Jungle Trolls have their own seperate loa gods, some of whom we heard about in Zul'Gurub. Their 'cat'-loa that could serve as inspiration for a druid form is either Shirvallah (tiger) or Bethekk (panther)... and since panther is already taken by the Night Elves, I'd go with tiger.

I was honestly looking forward to new Moonkin forms and I'm a little discouraged that they're not announcing it. I don't mind that we don't have multiple forms based on our characters like Feral forms, but at least new race specific ones would have been nice.

this guy? Doesn't look all too Anime to me, just cartoon-y. The bad thing about Anime as a genre is, it tends to drag down other forms of drawn/animated art as well. Not all of it is awfully simplicistic/exaggerated teen fantasy.

Only if they can explain Prowl for them. Also, many skills'/talents' names would need to be generalized or differing by race.

Of course, there still is travel form.. AFAIK, nobody has ever been happy with that strange cheetah form. This would be a good moment to change it. Worgens would obviously get their wolf form, and druids could get their raptor form. Night elves probably turn into cats for Travel Form, and Tauren could be tallstriders?
And I suppose worgen fight form has to be some gloomy owl, with trolls maybe some brightly colored parrot-like variant?

Tallstrider? Please, no! I vote Shoveltusk.
Oh, and I overlooked Ashen's post: From what they said about moonkin/tree models, it sounded like those would get the same treatment as the feral forms, meaning different color schemes.

Aye, Blizzard has been pretty reassuring as far as moonkin forms are concerned. Eager druids needn't worry, the fact is no models have been presented for the new expansion - goblins and male worgen, but those are "primary" things.
That Nanaki fan art Nathaniel linked is good, far from the more cartoonish versions a goole image search grants. But it actually seems more on spot for a troll cat form, even if that lynx has its merits.
I'll assume most of you know one of the screenshots released is from Blasted Lands. Of course, it's just a patch of land, but I fear the change is a bit too dramatic. From a burnt-red terrain to a wetland...It almost seems like Blizzard is saying that, after Cataclysm, shamans and druids can join hands and undo what Deathwing did. Still, it looks positively awesome.

What's to explain? Plenty of raptors in-game use stealth. Also, one of the most popular modern interpretations of raptors in fictional media is Jurassic Park, which plays heavily on them being stealthy. Furthermore, raptors attack with teeth and claws, same as a cat would.
Worgen's cat form variation wouldn't be much harder to rationalize. It would probably be more difficult to explain to people why a werewolf is turning into a cat.

It makes sense for druids to choose cats as their more aggressive form, from a certain point of view. When you're looking for a compromise between nobility and ferocity, cats take the crown. I'll assume most druids have a measure of righteousness and said nobility, as they're taught by the Cenarion Circle. So, it's not so much about the race: the cat form is probably pretty mandatory. Perhaps it's an embodiment and not a mere metamorphosis.
And to Gilneans, turning into a Worgen is a curse and "mandatory". Like the Hulk, when a fight starts, they go big-bad mode. So I'd say most of them would have no remorses in "disrespecting" their wolf-self.
