It's the most logical solution to the problem. Their hands are full with all the places with actual content that needed more development. I'd certainly like a side-by-side of existing maps vs. new ones.

Clearly, the most important change is that Marrowgar now appears to be on fire. Changes to the Citadel? Wasn't expecting that. Or is the design just being reused? Hmm.

(Does that mean Marrowgar's heat might counteract the Chill of the Throne, or possibly just melt the instance from within?)

...wait a minute. Marrogar's on fire. Lavaman's on fire. Guess Blizzard might be getting the models for 'Iceramas' in early.

"<5-man instance> was just a setback!"

I sort of hope he will be just an unkillable extra at this point, or at most a killable 'avatar' of Neptulon proper. On the other hand, I think those Vashjir previews told us how the naga are weakening him and/or siphoning his powers.

Unorganized thoughts:

- Stormwind looks radically changed! I'm most intrigued by what looks like a Twilight camp within the city walls, very close to the Keep.. has Varian allowed them in?

- Similarly, Orgrimmar looks bad ass. It seems all the cutesy shamanism has been thrown out of the window, and they've gearing up for all-out war.

- Azshara looks like a lot of fun. Racetracks, swimming pools, a pleasure palace.. The night elves must be incredibly pissed off with THAT kind of sacrilege. Come to think of it.. the Tauren are probably not happy with those goblins either...

- Ruins of Feathermoon! HAH! Take that, stupid out of the way island. I wonder how they are handling those low-level dungeons like Dire Maul. Even if they're not making them Heroic, they would very likely need to be streamlined and re-itemized to make them relevant in this new world, and to make them attractive to run while leveling.

- Those crabs.. it looks like underwater life has gotten the Qiraji/Nerubian treatment as well. I hope they don't forget about the Makrura.

- We have now come to the point where kobolds look better than player models. And they look like gibberlings

There is a new spell called Icecrown's Chill, which seems to indicate some help coming from Icecrown to fight Ragnaros. Perhaps Fire Marrowgar will be an ally instead of another enemy to kill.

As far as I am aware, Blizzard was pretty clear that Onyxia was being brought back only for the anniversary event as a sort of "tribute" to the old raiders and because she was an icon in Classic WoW. I wonder then about the Children of Deathwing buff that's being shown on MMO-C. Is it a red herring that Blizzard put out just to throw everyone off? Or is it that we'll actually come across mechanical/necro/leftover remains of Onyxia and Nefarian in a single fight? The fact that Nefarion is spelled with an "o" instead of an "a" makes it seem like a red herring.

It would seem Deathwing has landed in Stormwind.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...ormwind_47.jpg

Notice the claw marks on the towers.

Perhaps he went to retrieve the heads of his most prized cubs? That and the Chidren of Deathwing debuff strengthen my hunch that Deathwing will reconstruct Nefarian and Onyxia.Still just a hunch, though.

Edit: The new Orgrimmar has its appeal, even if it gives nightmares to unborn children. I'm a little intrigued about the Tauren and Goblin areas there, the first especially. A pity, too, that we don't get to see the new throne room just yet.

The "Old God" or "Huge Faceless One" in Twilight Highlands must be a placeholder, how else do they explain that it has a glaive through its skull?

Edit2: Or it's a replica of the one in Darkshore that the Twilight followers use as a shrine or something.

Edit2: Just looked through the screenshots at mmo-champion and found some nice ones.

Kinda looks like the houses in the Shire from Lord of the Rings. Never seen that kind of architecture in WoW before and I can't tell if it's dwarven or human. You also see the "Huge Faceless One"/"Old God" with a glaive through its skull in the background. Far away you also see two towers with a rope-bridge between them. Haven't figured out what that might be, maybe Tauren?

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...ghlands_51.jpg
Another view from the first picuter. You see the back of the "Huge Forgotten One"/"Old God", a horde camp and the new houses of unknown origin.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...ghlands_40.jpg
At a first glance I thought it was some kind of monster (Qiraj perhaps) but at a closer look it's two black dragons. Their wings look kinda wierd tho, like they have mutated or something.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...ghlands_65.jpg
Looks like the Qiraj is back, reminds me of the hives in Tanaris, Un'Goro and Silithus.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...henvale_13.jpg
Haven't done much questing or exploration in Ashenvale so I don't know if this statue was there before Cataclysm and what it's supposed to resemble etc. Would be nice if someone knows the story of the statue.

No more elevator down to Thousand Needles.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...needles_02.jpg
What used to be the Mirrage Raceway in Thousand Needles. Would be cool if the goblins and gnomes used raceboats to compete. Don't really know anything about the ships in the background, probably pirates.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...needles_07.jpg
Old Mirrage Raceway, fells like Dharmaville in the ALT-timeline of Lost.

Hobbiton! I wonder what this is.. the new "kobolds" home? A Wildhammer outpost?

Interestingly, up to this moment only the Horde seems to have gotten a new style of architecture (the impressive "iron" orc style), while the Alliance seems to stay very close to how they look now. I also wonder what they are going to do with the Draenei and Blood Elves now. They have both been part of their respective factions for a long time now, so theoretically we should see them get integrated a bit more. More ambitiously, their starting zone quests probably don't make much sense anymore... the Exodar has been on Azeroth for a few years now, and Silvermoon should be clean from demonic energy by now (with the new holy Sunwell and all)..

Immortal Servants of the Old God and the only way the titans found to kill them was to embed a blade in their head then bury them?

I'm glad its just some servant, hated the idea of it being an Old God corpse just left lying around. Interesting they both have platforms hung off the sword, for some sort of reawakening ritual perhaps?

Also I've been trawling the spell database all morning and found a lot of references to a guy called L'ghorek. Including references to brain activity as well as tentacles.

There is also a whole zone called L'ghorek in Vashjir - Kelp forest, and some of the spells suggest you enter the creature, so maybe an Old God, maybe some huge underwater creature, and possibly even an underwater Ancient as a few of the spells mention Ancient.

Also just found this spell:
Merciless Disguise - Spells - Sigrie
Merciless Disguise
You're in disguise as a Merciless One-controlled slave. Hostile creatures within the body of L'ghorek will not attack you. Make your way to L'ghorek's Brain Room.

Seems to make it clear L'ghorek is an Old God. Merciless Ones are probably the new model Faceless ones.

That's one explanation I could buy even tho it feels like an odd way to get rid of them. What's from stopping a person just to pull out the glaive and let the monster slowly regenerate or speed up the process with an awakening ritual?

First I thought the platform was there to let the cultist examine the corpse close-up. If you check the tentacles they have poles under them as a means of support and the armor is suspended by chains or ropes. But just studying these monsters doesn't feel very "cultisty" so an awakening/ressurection ritual might be correct.

For me, the name sounds like an Old God but at the same time it could be a giant sea-creature named by a races native language. Much like Tu'u'gwar or Kill'ua could pass for a name of an Old God but they are infact a shark and a crab.

But the spell you found seem to indicate that it's infact an Old God. The name of the servants match the name of Yogg'Sarons servants (Meriless One vs Faceless One) and the fact that they are probably using mind control to control the slaves plus the mention of a "Brain Room" (only other "Brain Room" I know of is in Yogg) point to an Old God.

Could this spell be used in a quest more then in a raiding enviroment? Would be nice for everyone to experience atleast one Old God and so far the only Old Gods you've encountered is in raids.
