I think we can all appreciate the unearthly amount of violence that would be unleashed should Varok Saurfang witness his son rise from the grave and head to Sylvannas' right side. Same thing with Baine and Cairne.

I've never been a fan of Garrosh going "Wait, what? Oh, I'm somewhat reasonable, now." without something significant happening (which might still occur) but, like Fnar says, it's widely used and, in the current situation, I'll pop open some suspension of disbelief and drink it down.

The truth is, if you think the Horde is going "baddish", imagine how far down the Bad Lane it would already be with Ye Old Garrosh in charge. Better that he blinked and was suddendly capable of weighting options. Plus, he still likes to break faces, so that at least keeps things familiar.

I agree that it doesn't sound like something he would do, but it's also been a theory out there since everyone found out that A) Garrosh was the new Warchief and B) Thrall was kidnapped.
I've seen a screenshot of the completion text, I just think it is being misinterpreted. It says something like "Garrosh's face goes pale and he clenches his fist around the insignia". I think a couple of guys interpreted that as pale with fear but I just read it as him getting even more pissed off at the Alliance for sinking so low (in his eyes) as assassination. I'm sure it will turn out the golden boy Wyrnn didn't know anything about it and it was someone acting independently, maybe even Deathwing sending a Black Dragon agent to influence SI:7 and remove one of the few people that can stop him.

I found a very nice bunch of Screenshots filled with Old God Lore on the german forums:

Seems like the two "huge Faceless Ones" in Darkshore & Twighlight Highlands are not Old Gods but Harbingers like Skyriss. Would be interesting to know, wether Soggoth is a Harbinger of the Old God in Stonetalon or The Maelstrom.

Inigo being the new Duskbringer doesn't seem likely, his gear was Transcendance in life, and had the title of Father, seems like a lock for him being a priest. I was never really sure what happened to his phylactery, but I'm assuming (probably never a good thing to do in regards to lore/story)it was destroyed at some point during the final fight.

@Kumar: besides the Guardians recently mentioned, there's also Wildhammer/Dragonmaw, "Therazane," and the Tol'vir currently for reputation groups. In regards to the Earthen Ring, the Earthen Ring Pathfinder which queues you for Ahune for the Alliance is a female Dwarf. Broken also feature as part of the group. In terms of what we've seen in WoW so far, apparently there are far more Broken than Tauren or Trolls as members of the group, and there aren't any that are Draenei (I believe that storyline wise, shamanism has mostly been taken up by Broken that were abandonded by the light, leaving Draenei practitioners to be the inexperienced ones. This can be sort of backed up when looking at Alliance shaman trainers, 4 are Broken, 3 are Draenei, 1 is Furbolg. If you want to extrapolate further, you could say 2 of the Draenei are in Stormwind/Ironforge, suggesting that the Broken don't want to leave Draenei area's, leaving the amateurs to handle the teachings overseas). Of course at this point it doesn't really matter at all, once the Faction gets fleshed out in beta we'll have a better idea of racial presence. I'll be a bit disappointed if Thrall ends up getting appointed as temporary/full-time leader.

This is a relief. I would have been disappointed if they turned out to be Old Gods since they're not really up to par on the looks side of things. That sarlacc pit in Twilight Highlands is closer to what you expect after getting C'thun and Yogg.

@Vaccine on Varian: I wonder sometimes. I honestly don't think he's the type to make much use of SI:7 as assassins or kidnappers, but on the other hand he's made it pretty clear he hates Thrall and the Orcs a great deal, in spite of the fact that Thrall has continually tried to be accommodating and respectful towards Varian in pretty much all situations. I think his allowance of Saurfang to retrieve his son's body was just a hesitation, so to speak. Him just being a bit too sentimental because he's a father as well. I don't think I would be too surprised if he turned out to be the one to order them after Thrall in the end, but neither would I be surprised if it was someone else.

I'll be more surprised if we find out at all, actually. The goblin storyline smacks of ad-lib a little bit too much.

The fact that you get the quest to hand the Insignia to Garrosh from a Kor'kron Loyalist and that you're told to make sure he knows it's from Thrall -- as well as the Loyalist's reaction -- only seem to add more fuel to the anti-Garrosh fire, with Thrall in on the action.

I must admit to being confused -- it's almost like we've got two Garroshes, possibly written by different people. Even a timeskip can't seem to reconcile how Blizzard are trying to push both Hateface-Garrosh and Saurfang-2 Garrosh.

I don't expect anything massive will change. I expect our two rage heads to stay the same. Reckless, hateful, violent. These moments are supposed to be minor, just to prove that they're not cardboard cutouts based around a single trait.

Assuming you hate both equally, there's a difference between a popular and unpopular character. You can give credit where it's due in one case.

Speaking of SI:7, it looks like they have expanded their membership. People in the Beta are reporting that there are now Draenei Exarchs in it. SI:7 moving to more a generalized Black Ops set up to better tackle the new threats caused by the Cataclysm?

Exarch Cyn is a Rogue too, it's too bad that the FAT Draenei males keep it from being a viable option for Draenei as a class(They're the only race that didn't get a new class this expo).

What is the most important thing to you? Won't you grant me the pleasure of taking it away.

I was referring to the OTHER Saurfang.

The consequences of that happening would surely throw the Horde into turmoil and make grounds for ousting Sylvanas, and if he's left over as the leader of the Forsaken, re-solidify them again.

I wonder how undeath would change him?

Saurfang Sr. doesn't treat the DK Saurfang Jr. as his son, but rather his son's body as his son is already dead. However, he was willing to bust some serious heads to just get the body.

Sylvannis would never dare to reanimate Saurfang Jr...she's not stupid. It would be like her resurrecting the headless corpse of Tabethia in front of Thrall or Grom Hellscream in front of Garrosh.

I don't see this as a viable plot twist. It's stupid and pointless, and goes against Sylvannas cold, calculated nature (although good for drama, obviously, and likely if it was coming from a different character). She's not going to antagonize someone into blind rage (well, she is, and she does, to some degree, but never past breaking point and never without covering her back). Especially not Saurfang, whom I always assumed she's on the level with. Not BFFs or anything, but on the level.

Speaking of which, what are the funeral rites of Orcs? Assuming cremation is out of the question, would the elemental spirits of Nagrand even allow grave desecration?

Has anyone checked Nagrand to see if Garrosh is still there, or who they got to replace him? I wouldn't be surprised if Saurfang took over Mag'har leadership, to fill Garrosh's spot in the quest lines. (mourning his son and not being much help etc..)

Well I imagine Outlands is still "in the past" and so there won't be any changes to Outlands. Just like how Kael'thas exists in Outlands and in Quel'Danas.
