Whelp killing has been done before, in Beyond the Dark Portal, by Turalyon (nice going pally) and his troops. But then again, one can argue that the Black Dragonflight does unimaginable things to the other flights' eggs.
Killing children (whelps) is also more justifiable if said children would as soon kill you as look at you and are fully capable of doing so, the first act of most hatching whelps is to head straight for the nearest hero and try and kill them.

I would assume that the reds would try to raise the whelps to be 'good' in the hopes of one day restoring the flight but will of course kill them if they have to.

So they indeed used altar of storms. But last? It wasn't there in the first place, and what about others, in Blasted Lands and Burning Steppes?

They still exist, and they appear unchanged. What they're doing there is still anyone's guess. Maybe it's just a place for Twilight Cultists to hang out. Admittedly, I haven't done all the lowbie quests (or even very many yet) to test whether they get more love from quest-lore.

Ahn'Quiraj: The Fallen Kingdom has been announced as a new zone in cataclysm.

Not much other information as I'm not in beta, anyone who is have any info or is it not in the current build?

It looks like AQ20/40 will remain in contrast to Zul'Gurub.

Ahn'Qiraj: The Fallen Kingdom - Zone - World of Warcraft

Looks like a big zone too.

I'm guessing that the story of the zone will be very twilight cultist based what with Cho-Thun being based out of their for a while in the comics.

For the moment, it's just an empty zone in the AQ20 layout. There's nothing present in the zone.

I flew out there the other day, and other than being able to see everything... by which I mean an empty zone... AQ is just as empty on beta as it is on live. But it is all there, including some neat behind-the-scenes stuff, like a small statue that resembles Moam, etc. The portals are also still there, so I'm not sure what exactly to make of it, except that they're adding it to the game's map (although not discoverable/implemented yet).

Thanks to the new info from MMO, we now have what may be the name of the first Tol'Barad boss, Pit Lord Argaloth. Looks like Tol Barad's bosses will be a little like the old idea of what Stormwind Vault was, a prison for some of the most dangerous creatures.

This guy totally new? I don't remember him being mentioned in WoW, or showing up in WC3.

Clearly he's affiliated with Lord Jaraxxus.

Well, Magtheridon was Pit Lord. Better prepare your box clicking abilities!

In other news, worgen will not be getting a mount! Instead, they will use 'running wild', and basically do what people wanted Darkflight to do: run like a wolf. I think that's an awesome idea, but it's kinda sad they immediately killed the idea of giving something similar to Tauren.

I really did not think this would be the route they took, I think it's awesome, BUT it means alliance are missing out on a few mounts vs horde who will probably get another 6 mounts (3 fast, 3 slow) from the goblins. Of course this is easily remedied by just giving the existing alliance races one or two more mounts each..

I think plainsrunning was dropped because it didn't work like a mount, i think you had to run in a straight line for x yards then it would kick in automatically which made it unpredictable and just bad in general, as long as they make the worgen ability work like a mount it should be pretty cool (they have to get the animation right also)

Yeah, Plainsrunning worked totally differently; it was not the same thing at all. As for mount imbalance, currently there are only two Goblin cars (a single fast and a single slow). Numbers-wise it's not a huge imbalance yet but with race-cars and scorpion mounts going to the Horde the imbalance currently looks a lot bigger than it is.

I was in the reforging place in Orgrimmar and noticed that the flavour text mentioned that we have reforging because of the Highborne. There's also a Highborne NPC present in the room. Was there any reason given as to why the Highborne are helping the Horde as well? Did I miss it somewhere?
