Not that big a shock after the Fangs of the Father video Blizzard put out. He did mention at the end he was going to be visiting Pandaria.
I also do not think Blizzard would stop doing stuff with Chromie either, she's rather popular, and an easy way to have more CoT based stuff if they ever want to do them.

It's my understanding Dragon's only lost their Aspect-powers, they still have their innate Dragon-born powers (and of course research as well, whatever remains of the Blackflight is sure to be knowledge, assuming the possess the knowledge of Nefarion and/or Sinestra).

Nice to see The Black prince is just chillin out in the open @ a bar. :P
You'd think he'd be a bit more discrete!
I'm still wondering how I should approach this expansion, will it all be fairly contained like WotLK/Cataclysm, or should I be keeping an eye out for what it's all leading to, IE 90-95(or 90-100 if it's the final expo).

You'd think, but I'm more curious about the females next to him. Looks like its a Panderan run bar based upon the Panderan on the right side of the screenshot...so why the orc and human females on either side of him?
Remember that he says "It is done, friend. To my knowledge, I am the only black dragon who remains" at the end of the legendary chain. My immediate reaction is to think the females are two black dragons in disguise, but that would have to mean he found black dragons in Panderia, which opens up a whole can of worms.

I think we will see more and more hints in future patches. Blizzard need to seed a new story lines.
Also, why are they trolling us with Turalyon and Alleria on splash screens? Reminded me of Ashbringer "hints"

The "Nobody has seen Alleria or Turalyon in years" comment is odd, although it could be a sign that Blizzard does finally plan on revisiting them at some point in the very near future.

That might be overthinking it. I guess they're just hired swords from Ravenholdt.

They're named "Left" and "Right". A nice ASoIaF reference, and probably a safe indicator that they have no significance aside from being his bodyguards.

So, new speculation on next warchief of the Horde
Source
|
Levinthar: Erm...He's going back to being warchief of the horde. Which apparently isn't supposed to bother all the alliance that have been working with him for the last few years.
|
|
Zarhym: I know what was said during the press tour, but don't be so sure yet that you know who the next warchief will be. The information provided during the press tour was... not entirely accurate.

I read is as Thrall will take part in removing Garrosh from power, but will not return as Warchief

Good god I feel like we're going back in time again. I'm speaking from a creative development stand-point.
If it's not Thrall, I don't feel like there's any Orcs from the new generation that can lead so you'd have to go to the old, and that would be Saurfang(This is the super obvious choice). Drek is mentally ill after all, and there's not any other Orc candidates.
They could go the boring route and make it Baine, Vol'jin would be a very very interesting choice. Sylvanas isn't even a real option.
I mean do we need to go down this path again of potential Horde Warchiefs? :P

Or we could just have an orc leader but not a Warchief, because power struggles can provide compelling storytelling.
I'm more pissed about the fact that as an Alliance player, I'm going from an expansion characterised by us losing constantly, our heroes going perma-totes-neutral and being forced to grasp the Stupid Good ball and help never-actually-neutral Thrall save the day... to one characterised by us losing (Theramore), our heroes going perma-totes-neutral (Anduin, to the point of proclaiming the Horde to be awesome) and being forced to grasp the Stupid Good ball and help Thrall save the day and make the Horde stronger.
And Blizzard claim they learn from their mistakes. Hah!

Thrall is and was always neutral, as far as he could as the somewhat involuntary Warchief. Now, he is a member of the Earthen Ring and neutral (and Zarhym kinda said he won't go back Horde officially, or at least won't become Warchief anymore) - of course he would defend Horde members being attacked by Alliance members, but the same holds true for neutral "Alliance members" - a neutral character wouldn't just watch a given fight somewhere, they would try to mediate to prevent/end hostilities, but if that fails, they would assist the side they deem more justified (unless of course both sides share the blame, e.g. ressource fights in new territories)
And let's not forget most of the notable neutral "Alliance members" were lore figures from WC1-3, mostly humans, associated to their side by race (back then, "neutral" meant you weren't a member of the involved races) while most Horde/orc characters pre-WC3 were the war leaders, under demon control, and mostly dead, hardly any options for neutral characters - which is the reason someone like Thrall had to come along (or be invented, from the writers' view) to evolve the Horde into a non-evil faction.
Esp. in Cataclysm, the Earthen Ring is the best way to introduce (important) neutral characters of "Horde races", see Muln Earthfury, Aggra (admittedly via Thrall) Of course those will be new characters, but such is the plight of a universe as "old" as Warcraft, it has to move forward.
