You really should put in the records from the official forums, both the EU ones and the US ones. Both are following the same rules which are the same as yours. Sometimes there actually are some good stuff on the official forums.

There are some impressive runs there, a 40 min ZA run for example and a kara run under 1 hour.

To be honest i was kind of disappointed when i saw u doing this project. We founded the so called Top 10 Scoreboard around 3-4 weeks ago, we started in the EU/UK-forums and got a very nice support/audience. We expanded into the DE (german) - forums and last week we also managed it into the US-forums. We even got blue-postreport and not to mention the work we did put into it. Even some community pages were interested in taking such a project over and make it properly public.

Now after covering almost all languagesections in the wow-forums, blue posts, even topworldguild supporting us and taking part, u come up with a SIMILAR thread in elitist forums?

I guess ill get a ban right after this post and of course my infraction, BUT its still very very strange.
Now i wish u good luck with "ur" idea. Enjoy ur achievement.

The vast majority of posters here don't go to the general forums due to the level of stupid being incredibly high. I would argue that this topic adds value on EJ, as there's nothing HERE for the readers of this forum to compete for speed clears as yet.

If you were that concerned about it, surely it would be better to talk to the OP and collaborate with him to improve both sets of posts rather than being so confrontational?

All kidding aside, I haven't been on the official forums in many months. I don't voluntarily swim in those shit-caked cesspools. I've only just now learned about your "project" from my stronger-stomached compatriots right here in this thread.

I posted this thread as an outgrowth of an EJ Benefactor Bar conversation about running raids "heroically" (gimped in various ways). I decided I would try to create a nice, simple list of speed clear rankings in it's own thread. No multiple languages, no rankings of "Clear every heroic", none of that shit. Simple, simple, simple. If you guys want to rank "Mara runs done while braiding own pubic hair", have fun.

I haven't taken the time to go through the methodologies behind those rankings on the WoW forums. I'll do it soon and If I find they're decent, I'll include the timings here if warranted. (Only the top few, and I'll give attribution back to the WoW forum posts.)

Ok, first of all, I am a 30years old german guy. I am trying my best to write correct english all the time to avoid infractions or getting misunderstood.

The post you quoted is not about original ideas, it is simply about the post he made AFTER he got informed that such a project does exist already. Instead of spending a thought into cooperation or asking us bout this project, he writes in a damn arrogant way that he doubts our wws/post/project whatever are correct (not even from guilds like Bad Omen, Sk-Gaming, Slashcry etc).

Nobody got any problem with posting on the elitist-forums, i even like the idea and it offers also alot more people taking part in it. But why automaticly claiming other people stupid, dumb or "not grown up" as you posted. I think you missed the part of maturity here, in your own forum. Anyway, it´s worth to think about developing this to a quite more popular project over many forums (even elitistjerks) instead of competing within a limited playerpool. Time to check the attitude, it is not Elitist Jerks vs rest of the world. Not everything out there is stupid, just because we created this project not based on your forum first.

I just hope i pointed this time out what my intentions are.

Being German doesn't excuse you from knowing the difference between "i" and "I" or "ur" and "your." If you can't comprehend or follow our rules, we'll mock you for it and eventually ban you. If you want people to think you're a grown up, then walk, talk, write, and express your thoughts like a grown up. If you don't, people will call you a child. I don't think we misunderstand you. I do think you misunderstand what we find unacceptable about your content. In your most recent post you did well enough not to earn your fifth infraction for grammar. If you keep that attention to detail up, you may continue posting here and we'll listen to what you have to say.

At risk of posting out of topic, I just wanted to say thanks for this thread, as the only time i ever bother visiting the WoW forums is to type out a recruitment post. So whilst there may already be existing threads elsewhere, I'm sure there are hundreds of other people just like me who much prefer to explore the content of a filtered, educated site, rather than a public canvas. Not to discredit the original creators of such threads, but I just prefer to stay away from the WoW Forums in general.

Even though the post here and the one on wow-forums are made for (slightly) different audiences, it wouldn't do any harm to refer to said post for comparison.

I do know that the official forums aren't known for their accuracy in general, however the speed run post (in which multiple renown guilds showed interest) is set up nicely and only validates a wws after it has been checked.

The rule set is similar as well, meaning that including runs from that topic wouldn't devaluate those present. If you'd still feel the urge to check the reports yourself feel free to do so.

You would see an excessive use of Drums of Battle and running (doesn't it take like one minute just to run from the entrance to gruuls room without mobs) ...still under 6 minutes is very impressive.

As far as I know, we didn't film the Gruul clear: it really wasn't that interesting. Kill mobs, kill boss, kill mobs, kill boss. All of the trash were Brutes, interestingly.

Timeline was:
Zone in: 19:42:20
Engage HKM: 19:43:14
Finish HKM: 19:44:28
Engage Gruul: 19:46:49
Finish Gruul: 19:48:17

Just over a minute to clear the first 3 brutes, 5 seconds to rez someone who died like a nub (no names), 1:17 to kill HKM and friends, 2:21 to clear the 9 brutes on the way to Gruul (with 1 battle rez), and then a 1:28 kill of Gruul. If you have the gear to do the bosses in roughly that time, you have the ability to meet or better our time.

[e] And as far as I know, we didn't really have that many drums, tbh. A lot of our non-typical LWers (casters, mostly) have started switching away from LWing now that Sunwell is on farm. Obviously the melee group has a full team of 4, and the hunter group had (I think) a set of 4, but the rest were just random drums from shamans and others who kept it.
