Thorium Brotherhood Reputation:
It takes 3,000 Reputation to achieve Friendly, which takes about 480 kingsblood. It takes 6,000 additional Reputation to become Honored, this takes about 1000 Dark Iron Residue. Note that at this point no MC crafting mats needed to be burned so anyone can reach this level if they choose.
After this point you must burn MC crafting mats to progress further. 10 DI ore is 50 points, 2 core leather is 150, and 1 fiery/lava core is 200. By far the best way to do this is to farm core leather and have rogues stealth farm BRD for ore.
It takes 12,000 additional Reputation to become Revered. So 160 core leather, 2400 DI ore or some combination thereof.
It takes 21,000 additional Reputation to become Exalted, Same deal only 320 core leather, 4800 DI ore.

Commentary:
While there are some, unusual, pvp and trash items available, the primary function of these items is to provide fire resistance to a guild fighting Ragnaros or Vaelastrasz. Any PvP or personal utility is at most a secondary consideration. The rest of this discussion is concerned with Rag.
First two tanks are required and should have 315 *buffed*. It will take a majority of the DI armor to do this but please note that since there is no point in going over 315 depending on what other items are available it may not be necessary to make the entire suit for a tank. The helm is by far the most efficient item and can have a libram applied to it, this allows it to be created for tanks with lessor FR requirements, such as those handling the sons of flame.
Rogues have the more difficult task of balancing FR while maintaining high DPS. They have 3 items to assist them with this and can be chosen to meet there individual needs. The lava belt is nice and cheap, the Core hound boots provide a built in mix of stats and FR while the Molten Helm can provide a very large amount of FR from a single item and thus provide more flexibility with which other items the rogue chooses.
The other items can generally be judged on their own merits. The Corehound Belt and Enchants are very good while the Chromatic Gauntlets are a waste of mats for example. Some of the Flarecore and other items can eventually be used to boost the FR of classes for whom it is generally harder to come by.
It should be noted that Vaelastrasz has, in general, stiffer FR requirements than Rag but the raid group has far greater flexibility with items for this fight.
The exalted weapons provide a sink for guilds that have progressed beyond the point of needed FR for Rag/Vael. No such guilds are on Mal'ganis and I getting anyone to the point where they can make these items ought to be a low priority.
Some dropped recopies in MC require these mats as well. Some of these provide very nice improvements, such as the Core Armor Kit and the Acurascope, others such as the Core Marksman rifle aren't so hot.
