I'm pretty sure multiple people can start the quest - nothing is triggered by it other than some speech. Choosing a speech option when talking to Vael aggroes him, not starting the quest. The limiting factor was always the shard drop itself. I recall making sure I had the quest even when it was not my turn to loot the shard just in case the looter DC'd on Nefarian.

I believe that the leveling rate of fishing has seen a significant increase since the patch. I was playing around in barrens and gained 4 points (353-357) in 9 minutes of casts. I was in the Sludge Fen for reference.

I just finished getting 3 of the four fragments for the AQ quest chain and can confirm they're 100% drop rate now. It means you can try and just burst down one mob, loot and run. I had a Priest with me for healing, but could have soloed it without too much trouble.
The Twilight Corrupter though still requires at least a small group, we tried as a duo and quickly wiped twice before leaving.
As a side note I've been able to solo a good deal of the chain so far because demonic empowerment is multiplying threat for the voidwalker by an insane amount. It's easy to put out about 150k threat in seconds using Torment and Suffering. Makes the voidwalker an extremely effective tank for a boss like the Headless Horseman.

I just went into Wailing Caverns to do the achievement and when I hit M I was presented with a blank map instead of a continent map like you normally get inside an instance. I was going to post a screenshot but imageshack doesn't seem to be cooperating right now. I didn't notice this in any other instances. It's probably just a bug rather than some kind of partially implemented zone map.

I had the same thing in WC, so did a guildie I did it with. The player icons also move around on the blank map, indicating that the map indeed is approximately the size of the dungeon. That could indicate that they plan to offer maps at some point. I also remember some news items with specualtion about dungeon maps on worldofraids/mmochampion a while ago, but I was unable to find it now.

Mmm, I had the same thing when I was doing WC. If you notice, there's also a little drop down menu, with the only option being 'Floor 1'. A guildie of mine had earlier mentioned that when he was doing a dungeon, he was offered the option of viewing different floors on the map, but I didn't think to check which dungeon he was in at the time, so I have no idea where to go to check if he was actually given a proper map, or just the not-quite-implemented framework that can be seen in WC. In any case, if it is their intention to give us a proper floor by floor map of all instances, it'll be dead handy for some of the more labyrinthine dungeons that exist, and it might give them more leeway to design more immersive and interested dungeon environments, without ending up with a needlessly confusing BRD-style mess.

Adding to the "Weird Things Happening In This Patch" list, I saw a level 29 character appear in a 30s BG bracket.
Note the levels of myself and my targeted guy:

Looking at your buff frame, my guess is you were drunk... a little known side effect of alcohol in WoW is that it lowers the displayed level of enemies by 1 to 3.

Amusingly enough, I found this out at a very low level because of the witch doctor in Senjin village who occasionally makes you drunk. I knew the levels of the enemies I was fighting had to be higher since they showed as grey but gave XP, and I eventually saw the level of one jump up as I switched drunkenness states. Thus, being tipsy/drunk/smashed have you view all enemies as 1/2/3 levels below what they actually are.
Given the buff that looks like its from alcohol in that screen shot, that is the likely explanation.

Demonic Empowerment for the Voidwalker is definitely bugged, as has been reported elsewhere ( Voidwalker tanks Illidan, almost - WoW Insider). It feels like they missed a decimal point in the talent, since there are large spikes of ~50k-ish threat when Torment is used.

I've been tanking the Headless Horseman with him every day now, and if the dps is good enough I can be the healer as well with health funnel so we only need dps. The aoe taunt doesn't have a target limit either, so I've been gathering up groups of mobs and easily killing them all. It's especially nice for necrotic runes right now.
If anyone was curious here is me just shy of soloing Dr. Weavil. I would've had less threat but I was constantly healing myself and the void. That's with 0/3 Demonic Brutality and hitting DE on almost every cooldown.

I actually just finished up maxing fishing recently. I was expecting torture but it only took me a couple minutes to get some skill ups in the late 360's-375. I thought it felt easier than what I was told, but didn't consider actually writing down information, so that's the best I can say.

In Wrath they plan on reducing the amount of fish needed to level 1-375 from ~1700 to ~655 ( read: Wrath of the Lich King Fishing Changes - El's Extreme Anglin' - WoW Fishing Guide ) , maybe they silently patched it ahead of schedule.

Seems they have eased up on the number of mobs you need to skin for skill ups in skinning as well. At tbc launch it took 6-8 mobs to get a level up around 300+ in hellfire. Now I'm getting a skill up every 1-2 mobs (at around 330 now). Guess they have implemented the easier leveling of old (pre wotlk) in this patch for professions that it can be applied to.

They seem to have eased up on weapon skill leveling as well. On a BWL run for the achievement for some guildies I was toying around with an Arcanite Ripper on trash, leveled 2h axe skill from 300 to 340 when we ran out of trash. Then later that night cleared out a BT with only Shade and Teron dead. With using the axe on trash alone got it up to 349.

I can say that I'm at about 265 fishing skill with both toons, and I've already caught about 800 fish on each (the achievements are great for tracking this). My guess is that it will take at least 1500 total fish to hit the current cap. If I'd known that they're planning to nerf it, I probably would have waited.
Sidenote - I spent pretty much the entire time fishing in Ironforge, trying to fish up Old Ironjaw for the achievement. Wasn't successful on either toon. A horde rogue joined me about 2 hours in, and caught it on his 2nd cast (you can see cross-faction achievements).

Something weird was going on yesterday fishing in Org. I literally caught Old Crafty 3 times in 5 casts. I know this is probably filed under "Ony deep breathes more" but from what I understand this thing has a <1% drop rate. The sheer probability against this is sort of staggering.

I wouldn't be surprised if rare catches were bumped, all else being equal. Don't quote me on that, though. Wouldn't expect anything more than 2%, but let's see what Wowhead* says in a few months.

I got it on my first cast on 2 chars in a row on patch day along with the croc, might be a 375skill thing, or that I'd already cought it pre-patch, but it's the same 100% drop for all daily fishing q's now atleast.

I also got Old Crafty on my first cast earlier in the week together with the baby crocolisk for the daily quest. Oddly, after I looted the baby crocolisk I was unable to loot Old Crafty at all. I would click on it and click yes on the BoP warning window, only to get the error message, "You can't loot that now," which I can't recall ever seeing before. I did get credit for the achievement though so it's not a big deal.
Old Ironjaw, on the other hand, didn't turn up in over 900 casts in Ironforge on Saturday, so I'm not sure what to think. A couple Hordies were fishing along with me and they did get theirs, but it took several hundred casts for both of them.

Its a 100% for the first cast on fishing dailys but if you for some odd reason mess it up (move, cancel window etc) it becomes around 10% catch rate. Found out the hard way at least for the hellfire fishing one.

I have seen that same bug with Old Crafty + the baby crocolisk twice now. Once on the beta realm of Northrend and once on live. I was just glad that on live it still qualified for the achievement.

I can corroborate the weapon skill speed increase - I picked up a new sword for my paladin when she dinged 70 (weapon skill 54...) and got it maxed out in 1 shadowfang, 1 full clear of SM (I was chasing achievements).
I went from 54 to 254 in Shadowfang. I guess they gave us a better way to skill up now they removed skill ups from the Servants in Blasted Land.
