Looks like there may be plagued critters in many/all major cities, now. Booty Bay has some, for sure.

Anyone try interacting with the plagued creatures as a zombie? Can you attack them, eat them, or affect them with retch perhaps?

Will try to kill Azuregos with a zombie raid tonight. I want to know if we can turn him into a Frost Wyrm ( that would be awesome ! )

Two other zombie features that haven't been mentioned (I think):
- Your swim speed is the same as your run speed on land;
- You don't need to breath.
I managed to infect and take out the entire arena NPC team in Shattrath, which is also full of roaches and crates at this stage.

How does this event affect achievements? Could I fish in Orgrimmar as a zombie? Etc etc..
This seems like a painless way to get around eight minute runs back to Orgrimmar for every 2-3 fish I catch.

As the Zombies do not have the player's abilities from the spellbook it should prove somewhat difficult.
If you kill Plagued Roaches with your pet (tested with my Imp) the infection will not spread.

It sounds like the event will be relatively short according to Malk on the CS forums
|
According to the very best information I have available currently, it should still be possible to perform Hallow's End quests for a period of time after the plague runs its course.

That's actually a disappointment for me. I enjoyed the "under siege" feel of the first Scourge Invasion. Watching the constant incursions into the city and desperately fighting them (twas hard at level 44) was exciting. It lasted a while and gave everyone plenty of time to participate.
By the time some players figure out what's going on this new event may already be over if what Malk says is true.

So has anyone found any good uses for the Zombies other than checking scourge areas for quests?
The best use I could think of was camping the Stormwind portal room. It has no guards and an ample supply of players who cannot attack back for a good few seconds. We started with 15 and invited every player we killed ending up with well over 40 people and a permanent green fog covering the floor of the portal room.
In the end a small team of mages and paladins cleared us out, but it was good fun for the 30 minutes it lasted, especially when we lured unsuspecting guild members though to join us

'Conspicuous Crates' have appeared in Ironforge that infect you if you interact with them. The plague is also getting more more virulent - I got 10 resists before I managed to successfully cleanse it.

I remember reading that there's a quest in WotLK where you "turn" into a ghoul to infiltrate a scourge HQ and find items of power and other such things leading to their upturning and eventual downfall. Oh I wonder! This surely is getting interesting.

Unconfirmed so far, but supposedly each attempt to cleanse increases the duration remaining on the disease, rather than actually cleansing it, and you can only cleanse it if it's up to 10 minutes.

It's an on-going event that will last a while I imagine.
Remember the first Plague of Undeath caught humanity off guard. This one is similar, it creeped in at Booty Bay, now it's made it's way into the capital cities, claiming lives and turning people into the Undead, I imagine soon the cumulative forces of the plague will start to assault Orgrimmar/Stormwind(And hopefully Orgrimmar will be razed).

Similarly, it seems like each time a zombie attacks you, it lowers the timer. With a large number of zombies, we could convert high level people fairly fast without killing them.

Progress seems to be server dependent, on Ursin we've had next to no zombie activity, and I still have to go to BB to get it. I don't see how they could make it build up and end quickly if that's the case. It's remarkably fun.

I had the debuff and had two zombies attacking me and I was at half health when I turned into a zombie. Didn't pay any attention to the debuff timer, but there's hardly any other explanation than this.

I found a relatively good use as a shaman, I don't know if it works with a soulstone aswell: I went to Stratholme after I got infected in Ironforge - the flight plus the walk to Strath is pretty much 8 min long - and opened the first doors as non-zombie, waited, transformed, and walked right through to Rivendare. Then I exploded, ankhed and killed the Baron. I figure with the increase in the droprate of the mount, this is a good way to farm it. Granted, you have to wait for your ankh cooldown, but you can use the time to do some achievements...

How did you pass the door to Baron's chamber?
edit: There's hoping this won't get hotfixed before I get off work ^_^

Baron's compound doesn't open till you kill the sub-bosses. Did they change this in 3.02?
