From what I remember reading, ghouls can open some doors you can't open in your regular form.

Isn't there a door in Karazhan that you can't usually open? Anyone tried that yet?

Tried it and it's still locked in ghoulform.
I also noticed that there are certain invisible walls in Andorhal when you're shapeshifted into a ghoul, namely the entrance to the Inn and the town hall. Seems weird, since you can easily enter other similary shaped inns and town hall buildings in the rest of Azeroth as a ghoul.

Explanation for the inn lockout could be Chromie's magic. No idea about the town hall though.

I couldn't use a SS; turning into a ghoul removed the buff.

As a zombie, you can just click the doors to the yard with all the abominations and the slaughterhouse to Rivendare. They just open so you can walk through.

So my server has zero npcs on the Kalimdor continent. No matter where I run to (and you have to run) there are no npcs, I don't know if this is part of invasion or server instability. Ogrimmar is a ghost town.
edit: by no npcs, I mean nothing, no mobs, no critters... makes Azeroth seem very dead and I guess that's the point.
editX2: npcs are back, guess it was a server thing.

Perhaps someone could try entering the inn during the 10-minute countdown and only turning into a ghoul once already inside.

Posted on MMO Champion (24/10/08), new boss coming to Karazhan soon.
WotLK World Event - New boss in Karazhan ?
This is NOT active on live servers for the moment. It looks like one of the upcoming phase of the WotLK world event will feature a new boss located in Karazhan: Prince Tenris Mirkblood. Tenris is part of <The San'layn>. The San'layn is a faction of darkfallen, renegade elves from Quel'Thalas under the rule of the Lich King.

You know, it is getting more and more difficult to cleanse the plague. What if Blizzard was really evil and eventually the plague mutates so that cleansing causes instant transformation into a zombie.....

Edit: duh, I failed to read.
As a side note, I blew up in LHC and interestingly enough, all of the AD NPC's, including the Innkeeper got infected but the 4 Scarlet Crusade NPC's did not (and I was actually standing closer to the SC NPC's).

Headless Horseman no go
When a zombie, Headless horseman in sm gy becomes neutral but still attacks you promptly tearing you to pieces. I didn't check if the guy in the basement would offer a quest though.

I'd like to confirm that Glutton, Mordresh, and Amnennar the Coldbringer in RFD would not talk to Zombie Tizz. I heard Mordresh audio for the first time, but since RFD is not exactly a common run for me I'm assuming that's always been there ("The Scourge will rule the world!" yadda yadda).

Now that the plague is 5 minutes before zombification you cant get the plague and fly to LHC any more. You will turn into a zombie in flight and be instantly killed as soon as you land. You can however set your hearth to LHC and then fly to IF to get the plague and hearth back. just tried this and it worked perfectly... gotta love a 5 minute baron run!

The plague's progress is uneven. On LB incubation is still 10m and the first Argent Healer is up. I'm hoping the whole thing is player driven, the more you infect or maybe cleanse, the more virulent the plague becomes. Also the beams of light above Argent Healers vary in colour. If someone could get a bunch of buddies and keep cramming infectees down a healer's throat and see if the beam goes Scourge green or not and if the healer disappears?
Edit: 7EST and incubation is down to 5m and the first Healer is gone. I'm kind of disappointed, the two occuring together suggests a schedule rather than player input. I'm not sure why LB is behind though, it's an east coast server so if it was time-based it would be in the first batch. Maybe the server maintenance and restarts have screwed with the event timers.
With my theory probably dead, does anyone know why the Healers sometimes have green lights instead of the white ones? I saw one earlier but either I'm looking in the wrong spot or it has turned back.

For my paladin at least, a newly infected plague wasn't changing in duration when I tried to cleanse it an failed, so that may not be true.

From trying to get converted by letting a zombie hit me, I'm pretty sure it is (or was yesterday) 10 seconds off the timer each time you get hit by a zombie. Note that it looks to me like it's implemented as making the new max duration of the plague as current duration minus 10 seconds, so for me it appears to go back to full duration, but the time remaining goes down.

From the standpoint of being infected:
-This event is great fun, if annoying in cases. Who doesn't love running around infecting the populace with a virulent plague of zombism?
-The fun part is clear: Blizzard has made being zombies unique and flavorful. A lone zombie is toast, a horde is nigh unstoppable!
From the standpoint of normal gameplay:
-@#^%!!! They killed my quest/vendor again!
-Blowing the living [or rather, unliving] crap out of the infected is fun!
I've found a few things that may be glitches [and possibly be 'fixed']. When fighting zombies, you get infected when they die, and using an auto-evade makes for auto-zombism...but being magically damage shielded seems to prevent this. I've tested this zapping roaches and zombies alike, and as long as Ice Barrier was up, I didn't get infected, even at point blank. Killing zombies from extreme [36+ yard range] also seemed to avoid infection. I found using Blizzard to be very effective at downing a horde when backed up with procs, Icy Veins, and any other AoE player to get around player healing with Retch. Not perfect, but very effective, especially since you can run and cleanse.
From a zombism standpoint, it seems very hard to overcome multiple AoE players without a VERY large horde to spread the damage around, decreasing burst, and making Retch insanely more effective. The most surefire way seems to be pre-empting the AoE by infecting them by surprise and making sure an area is infected but not zombified before dieing. This raises the insurance you can come back and get re-infected hassle free, taking control of the horde once more.
