It may have been a server thing. On the login screen last night Blizz posted rolling restarts for all realms, and that may have been one of the issues they're trying to fix.
NPC's do respawn, however. In Shatt last night, some SSO questgivers were dead when I went to turn in 2 dailies. I returned after completing "Spirits of Auchindoun" and they were back.
A definite bug I experienced was that after becoming a zombie, and subsequently dying an res'ing, I still had lowered stats (right around 7000 health and 2000 mana). Swapping gear sets didn't alleviate the problem. I logged out and logged back and everything was back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this minor, yet annoying bug?

Has anyone tried out the plague within the confines of Un'goro?
If memory serves Titan research areas are protected from undead beings and passably any other malicious lifeform. To quote The War of the Shifting Sands...
"Once inside Un'Goro however a strange thing happened: word spread throughout the ranks that the Qiraji had fallen back, just as the forces had passed the edge of the crater. "
" The more she thought on the subject, the more she remembered the legends surrounding the Crater, rumors that it had been built in the primordial age by the gods themselves. Perhaps they watched over the land. Perhaps their blessings still anointed this place."
Wrath Spoilers Below;
After some research I discovered that the Avatar of Freya questlines elaborate on this in furthur detail, according to her:
"The five crystal pillars that surround the basin emanate pure lifeforce. The Scourge should've never been able to penetrate the basin, but one of the pillars was destroyed."
The crystal pylons in Un'goro could serve the same purpose and might be deadly to any zombified player who tries to go within the confines Un'goro. Since many people here seem to be in an inquisitive mood and I am unable to log on, could someone swing by he crater and test this?
Also try entering the crater while infected but not yet transformed, see if interacting with the pillars has any effect on the plague.

Also, Does killing zombified npc's cause them to respawn has there living counterparts? Or are they indiscernible from your run of the mill infected citizen?

The locked door above attumen's room (the one that used to be called "Sergeant's Quarters") is now called "Blood-Drenched Door." I'm quite confident that the Kara event boss will be inside.

You can interact with the pylons as a zombie, they give the Crystal Restore and Crystal Charge. You can't interact with the crystals on the ground as a zombie, says you are in a shapeshifted form. You can still loot them as normal with You're Infected!. I wasn't able to get to a pylon with the debuff though, might need a summon with the new 5minute timer.

I encountered the same thing. Checking my character sheet revealed that all my stats were 0, except strength and either int or spirit (I forget which), and I had 0 armour. For me, relogging didn't fix it, although I think I may have only logged out to the character screen, rather than fully exiting WoW. I was back to normal when I logged back in the following day.

I heard that Zombies should itemrack their clothes off because their stats aren't going to be increased by gear (and is intended).

The reason zombies are good to unequip items is because you can save durability loss, without losing stats.
Things I have seen working on my warrior:
Rampage (on crit)
Flurrry (on crit)

Humorously, Omen of Clarity can also proc while a zombie. I've also seen paladins with Vengeance. It seems like passive talents that can proc on autoattacks, autoattack crits, etc all work.
Things I suspect might work, but have not yet confirmed:
Unleashed Rage
Prot Warrior damage shield
Blazing Speed
Nether Protection
Natural Perfection
Ardent Defender
Blessed Life
Nature's Guardian
Cheat Death
Can anyone confirm or disprove whether these abilities work?

One strange bug or mutation of the plague that has been seen on my server is infected people that do not show the infected debuff. Instead they look like they are burning. One of my friends was infected in this manner. He was down in Silithus when it happened so may be something buggy in that zone. He does not remember seeing any zombies he was just fighting twilights for rep. We discovered that he was infected when he started to log off and saw a timer pop up. When he logged back on he had the typical green glow and infected debuff. I saw at least one other burning player down there so don't know what to think.
I will report back later if I find out more. I plan to go down and see if I can contract this strange debuff with my paladin after finishing a few more achievement objectives. I was on my hunter when I saw it so was not able to find out if this form is cleansable or not.
Edit: Managed to get back in touch with my friend and he says that yes he had been fighting dukes so that explains the burn. He apparently did his log out in the org AH and thinks now that the reason he got the infected timer pop up during log out was due to a suicide bombing zombie.

One interesting thing I've found is that you can go through the opposite faction Shatt portals when a zombie. Maybe not exactly useful, but it let me get my RFC and explore Durotar achievements with minimal effort.
Also, you are able to get quest credit as a zombie; I was able to do the daily to intercept the Dawnblade reinforcements as a zombie (got credit for kills, and was able to use the bomb to ignite the sails).
Edit: If you're in a duel when you're zombified, you continue the duel after changing.

I read the bug thread someone posted about this, and it seemed to be because of summoning the Duke of Cinders. Although it might have been caused in part by the event, I doubt it's actually a part coded in by Blizzard.

I can confirm that cheat death works, a rogue zombie that I decided to kill got it briefly before dieing almost immediately afterwards(presumably due to no resilience in zombie form). Cant say for the others though.

Personally, I think Nature's Guardian will probably make the best zombie buff if it works, especially if it can proc on the "Zombie DoT."

The few remaining Argent Healers appear to all be turning Undead. Nearly every Argent Healer that I found this morning (with the exception of one) had been replaced by Forsaken models. Still the same functionality and gossip text as the non-undead healers, though.

At least some of the healers were undead models last night, but I can't confirm if they were such before that, so this may not be a new change.
I was watching the effect on the Argent "lights" because someone noticed they were turning green. Last night I was in Stormwind and noticed they had a greenish tinge, but I'm starting to think that it's more due to the time of day, with the green tinge coming at night due to lighting effects rather than anything plague related. In IF they were normal colored with the brighter lighting in IF.
On a side note, the IF battlemasters room makes a fun target, easily reached, which can convert 6+ NPCs into zombies all at the same time if you explode in the middle. It was very interesting to watch them turn and march as a unit towards other things, and could make an effective army start point for smaller forces, since they are a relatively higher level group.

Not seeing this in Alliance cities atleast, yet, on euro realms.
Probably the most interesting thing about all this disease thing is that people keep playing like they used to, oblivious to the fact that a plague of undeath is roaming free, slowly infecting everyone.
Makes you wonder how or why the original plague of undeath spread so easily...

The Argent Healers have a new gossip text. Previously they talked about the Lich King's tendrils lurking close, now they say 'The forces of the Scourge bear down upon us. Take heart, and fight on!'

The annoying ones are the low level paladins in cities just spamming cleanse. I tent to maul them until they agree to stop.
All the argent healers in org on my server are forsaken models now.

A fun little bug with this, is if you get infected in moonglade as a druid, and take the flightpath rider there before you get turned into a zombie, you turn into a zombie during the ride. With no way to heal yourself, you die in mid-air and have to spirit res. Lovely stuff.
I assume this is because the moonglade flightmasters aren't true flightmasters since it's accessed through a dialogue option.
