High Priestess Arlokk

hello, lvl 60 alliance mage here. I have the utmost respect for your guild, and i was wondering, how did you guys take down High Priestess Arlokk? We've tried the strategy of giving a soul link to a warlock and blessing of protection every now and then, (obviously something you dont have), from a paladin, while the lock just hellfires nonstop. Whenever she is up, we would nuke her. I was wondering, how'd you guys do it?

Urban you will probably have more luck if you rephrase your question. Something along the lines of:

We are having trouble with boss X. She seems to have abilities A, B, and C, along with hitting for a good bit, adds, whatever. We are pretty sure there aren't any other non-trivial abilities. Anyway we have tried these things [insert stuff here] but we still had trouble with [bad stuff happening]. In particular when trying [out best plan here] we get WTNOWNED cause [shit happens]. Do you think our plan is viable or that we need to go back and look at the encounter more? Because This is the best we have come up with and we seem to be hitting a brick wall.

i was wondering, how did you guys take down High Priestess Arlokk?

From the description you gave, it seems pretty fair to say you haven't really looked at her very seriously yet. There's a few things about the encounter that should become somewhat obvious after a few runs at it. Once you get your head around what you can and cannot do, it's considerably easier to approach. (Doesn't necessarily make it easy to execute. :))

Here's some stuff to chew on for your next cracks at her:

* Bang the gong.

* Get attacked...beat on her.

* Dogs come...wait, no...they're cats. Okay so cats come and you blow them up for lack of any good night elves to beat on.

* She shows back up. You kill her more. (See, this whole first part you have correct, it seems.)

* Lots more cats continue to enter through unseen trans-dimensional portal of some sort. This is what happens when people don't spay or neuter their pets.

* Stuff.

* Beat on pantherchick some more.

* Pantherchick dies, the people rejoice.

* The encounter bugs and an infinite number of panthers keep spawning while the door remains shut OR...

* Lucky day! Encounter doesn't completely bug and the door opens...proceed to get murdered by infinite panthers anyway.

* /sigh

* Run back, zone in, and move on.

While typing that up it also occurred to me that a freak occurance of certain events during that boss fight could potentially make the encounter considerably easier for alliance on the random occasion. I'm fairly sure you'll figure that one out easily if it ever happens to you.

This is one of your greatest problems, I suspect. Soul link is for pussies.

Your warlock would perhaps be put to better use were he doing something less silly than attempting to offtank an enormous herd of cats.

Whenever she's up, we nuke her. You've got that part right so you're moving in the proper direction.

The hard part is in figuring out what else has to be done. Try her a few more times. Wrench on it a bit. Come back and let us know what new things you've figured out and we'll probably have some more pointers to help you out if you remain stumped. :)
