I wasn't aware of this change. It's an interesting departure from the standard 3win/1lose of BGs. It will make it much easier to farm marks. Although I guess it makes sense given how much easier it will be to win now with a weaker vault wall and 1 click orb. I see much faster games and a rush to get to Rank 3 before the game ends.

But that was because the item was changed from being a BoE drop to a BoP quest reward, if I recall correctly. It makes sense that Blizz didn't make all the rings listed in the AHs soulbound all of a sudden. Has there been a case were Blizzard retroactively didn't nerf/buff an item's stats?

In Vanilla green Wands with specific school Damage were better than epic Wands. They were nerfed but already existing Wands still had the original amounts of Spelldamage.

That legendary neck/ring thingie that dropped in first MC clears for erm. DnT? Forgot who it was, anyway it was before bindings, and as far as I remember, they never deleted/removed them; but that was pretty specific. Other than that, yeah I don't think they ever not nerfed/buffed items retroactively.

December 2004, Patch 1.02, Forcestone Buckler... but I imagine at they time they were taking their cues from how other games had handled that situation, once they did the wholesale reitemization of T1 and T2 I think they stopped worrying about that.

It dropped for Nurfed, but that's different as they simply removed it from the drop tables, they didn't change the item in any way.
In general, items are changed retroactively, but there are some exceptions (as listed above).

I copied a character wearing the Tempered Titansteel Helm with an Argent Crusade enchant applied, and it transferred completely intact with the enchant, and gained the expected meta socket and gem socket.

Simple question: Did [Relic of Ulduar] become tradeable or not? Initially they were, then Bornakk dropped a hint they wouldn't be, and since then there's been no further information either way.

They are no longer BoP, yes. With the new quest that gives 250 Sons of Hodir rep as well for 10 of those, they should be a hot commodity.

That's why songster was asking; that post from Bornakk isn't exactly conclusive. No way to know until the servers come up I suppose, but I'd expect them to be soulbound.

The engineering Green Lens of X got nerfed but not retroactively. This was back at level 60. The lens used to give x amount of stamina + a random set of stats. You could get Green Lens of Stamina that basically had more stamina than any other item in the game by far. They removed the innate stamina bonus from the lens I think, but not retroactively as I still have an old one with the stamina bonus.

As of right now on the PTR (yes it's still up, for some reason) the [Relic of Ulduar] is not Bind on Pickup; I just traded some between two characters. The exact same build on the PTR is going live today, so they will be tradeable on live as well, unless they magically gained the BoP flag somehow without the build number changing. But stranger things have happened; we'll know for certain either way, soon enough.

The Thrusting Hodir's Spear daily was made slightly easier, not that it was all that hard before; they halved the cooldown on the Dodge ability you use in Phase 1. Also, Phase 2 now tells you to "KEEP PRYING" if you miss a Fatal Strike.

fyi for people who edited their realmlist.wtf etc for converting beta into live like I did - there's an error with patching when it hits realmlist.wtf - trying repair atm will see how that goes but I assume it's easier to just copy/paste someone's more recent realmlist.wtf or copy the file.

edit: looks like this is a more sweeping patch issue and it's an error in the patch file that was downloaded rather than the home files I guess I skimmed the error message too briefly.

The file "\enUS-hdfiles\Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf" could not be opened. If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (InstallerFile::Open)

Seems to be fairly common on tech support forums with no known 100% fix =x

Some abilities have new icons - I've noticed Essence of Wintergrasp, Runic Healing and Mana injectors, and Preserved Holly so far.

 

Mode

Convention at the Legerdemain now requires 4 stew instead of the downright extortionate 12.

Not sure about other servers, but on Sargeras winning Wintergrasp on offense is apparently causing the server to crash.

And when the server comes back up the team that was defending is back on offense.

Nobody is getting honor/tokens.

Edit: Correction, people are getting tokens. >.>

Raise Dead seems to be bugged for a few, keeps insisting it needs Corpse Dust regardless of if you have some or not.

Blackhand's Wintergrasp is crashing every win, with Horde always playing defense and winning every time. I think it's just crashing when it ends regardless.

The spirit stacking trinket seems to have been changed from proccing on all spells to only procing on direct cast time heals eg flash heal, healing touch etc. instant cast heals and hots are not procing it. No change in tool tip so unknown if this is a bug or a change. If an intended change I forsee much wailing and whining from druids and holy priests.

Many new icon changes in this patch. Crystallized Earth now has a yellow border, Wintergrasp has new display as well. Anecdotal evidence, however in one hour of mining, filling 40 slots with ore, crystallized items, and eternals, I have not mined one gem. I am still willing to chalk that up to RNG but its pressing credibility at this moment with me.

We do have a host of new bugs. No one that I have grouped with has been able to eat buff food inside an instance and Skadi, the third boss of UP vanishes shortly after landing resetting. Tried a few tactics to include trying to keep him the room and down the hall near where he spawns but we can't keep him long enough to kill him.

Relics of Uldaur have flooded my servers AH at 5 to 7g each. Orbs increased in value. I fully expect ore to drop because it is just too easy to get.

Edit: I did some testing with Copper and Tin mines and they drop gems with good frequency. As it stands now I haven't had a Saronite node drop any gem. My stats were 33 stacks of saronite ore, nearly two full stacks of titanium. Icy Prism can return as low as two gems, two different characters received two gems each. Depending on your server this may not be a wise investment. On my server the Orbs are more than 100g.
