Ok, So GCR is Sorta (finally :D ) Getting to the point in which we can start taking out more geared people, and replacing them with lesser geared people who are new to end game raiding for the most part.

So my question is, how do you specifically handle priorty to people that have been there for a while, opposed to people that have just gone on a few (if any) end game raids? Logic says use the DKP system that you have set up, and go by that, but it leaves too many openings for people to swipe something out from others that have waited a long time for it, incl set pieces.

Do you use a "If you are new, then you are only getting things that are bound for DE" or keep it to your JP system? A prime example would be... A priest with Manastorm leggings who wants to do a latteral upgrade to Prophacy leggings... Yet there is a new person in the raid with Padres or something, and the Proph Pants drop. Say that the Newer person is higher in DKP, but the Guy with Manastorm wants to complete his/her set.

Do you have any rules for this, or is there some unwritten/Prediscussed rule that you go by? We use a basic Zero sum system with free/adjusted upgrades and what not. I checked your JP breakdown, and i dont think that i saw anything about this.

(PS: Gloom and Raylen nice to have met you at Blizzcon!)

As a general rule, people with no epic get priority over those who are upgrading. It's more efficient for the raid that way.

If someone is low in DKP, it means they've gotten more loot than their amount of raiding would dictate, on average, so they're not really getting screwed. If they're positive, they'll be higher than the new raider anyway, so it won't be an issue.

That said, if you have one person coming in who could use any and every drop from MC, and you also have a veteran raider who needs only one or two specific pieces from the zone and nothing else, it's probably courteous for the noob to pass to the vet. But nothing like that is enforced, merely encouraged.

We do have a policy that set completion gives you priority.
Aside from that though, the new person would technically have loot rights if he had more JP. However, each of our classes has their own chat channel so we highly encourage working out issues like that among your class.

Here's a specific instance, for example. I had almost all of my felheart set already by the time DirtyC started running MC with us. When the boots dropped, he was ahead of me on points and he obviously needed the things. I was still in dreadmist boots as well, however; so he passed them to me to complete my set. It made more sense to all of us for me to get the single piece I needed, since he still needed upgrades from pretty much every boss in there and wasn't exactly going to stress over missing that one piece for the moment.

In the warlock channel, we discussed it a bit and made sure each other was cool with it before I looted them. (We warlocks are cool like that. ;)) If I'd had Snowblind or something and just needed felheart to complete my set, I'd have let him have the things as the obvious "better for our future raiding" upgrade. As it was, it's pretty likely he'll see them again before I would have and he's managed to grab a number of other great upgrades in the meantime. It all works out.

I now no longer need a single thing from MC, pretty much, which means that he and the other warlocks don't have to worry about me when raiding with me there. No matter where I am on points, they know they'll get the upgrades they need. What's more, if Nemesis boots drop in the meantime in BWL, I'd easily give those over to him no matter how many points I had at the time as it would be the "better for future raiding" clause again.

What slug mentioned about loot being worked out in the class channel is something I feel alot of guilds can benefit from. If your raiders see instances such as mentioned above in a similar fashion then it means that people are looking out for the best interest of the guild. Loot will never stop dropping. If you are patient your loot will come to you. For me, its all about becoming a family thats focused on beating content not worried about loot issues.

One of the things that EJ really benefits from is the family atmosphere. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part people don't begrudge others loot, which is awesome.

Aye, for the most part it is the same with the guild I am currently a part of. We dont use DKP but rather a call out system. I might not be able to speak outside of my class but 9/10 the mages discuss the loot that drops and then people will say whether they want/need it. If someone will be completing a set we will all pass regardless of who's loot it is, or to establish a set bonus something similar will take place.

Also selecting one item that you would murder another human being for, and mentioning this fact over and over to the other dudes of your class is pretty effective. I've got pretty much every other exordium warrior convinced that maladath isn't worth dying for IRL.

It's ok, Tehax has a nice new 1h toy these days that I think slightly edges out Maladath, and it fits so nicely in his orc hands.

One guess what it is.
