Funny, we both had the same idea at the same (given development time-frame) time. Looking good, only annoying thing I noticed is that when you enter a value you have to hit enter to calculate it, or else it's ignored. Other than that I'm pretty sure you already have in mind what to improve. Also, what method are you using to calculate trinkets?

Anyway I hot-fixed some bugs in my spreadsheet and added some new functions just today, coincidentally. Here's a picture and link for it:

Has anyone extracted the formula for base shield block value for shields?

Here are the numbers if someone can derive the function:

239 227
232 223
226 221
219 218
213 216
200 211

Epic shields appear to follow a piecewise linear function for the base block:

Looks like something like:

base block = 0.38 (ilvl)  + 135.6   } 200 <= X <=232
             0.84(ilvl) + 25.84   } X >= 239
Both pieces have a correlation of 1 with the data.

Interesting thought, the lvl 239 shield are both from 25 man Ulduar hard modes, while the 232 shields are a mix of 10 man Collesium and 10 man Ulduar hard modes. I can see why the 232 shields match up: they were created after a shift to the block equation and thus simply match up to the old equation. However, I don't see why the 239 shields should fit with the new equation and not the old one. Was the shift pre-planned all along?

It could be related to Ghostcrawler commenting that hardmodes dropping higher ilvl loot, was not the original plan. Presumably the change was added later during the Ulduar development cycle, after first-pass normal loot had already been itemised (but not hardmode).
