I'm going to be 60 on my priest tonight hopefully, and I have been putting alot of thought into what gear I want to shoot for. I want to go into MC and Onxyia perpared as much as possible, so I really don't care for alot of the Devout.

Are the Truefaith Vestaments worth the time and money spent on them? There are some crazy mats required for them, and I'm just wondering if I would be better keeping my devout robe or shooting for something easier to obtain.

I know I want the Hide of the Wild, I have it on my druid, and love it. I bought all of the mats for it except the larvel acid, but this time around I would like to farm the essence. Where is a good spot for those two types, and do you guys know how long it will take me to get enough to make it, is the drop like 3-4 every hour or am I up for a really really long farming run? The drop rate for the acid sux, or it did when I farmed for it before.

Anyway, if you guys could give me your opinions on this I would be greatful.

Please don't ban me Kaubel :(

Truefaith Vestments are excellent.

Get Living Essences in DM East (or Un'goro Tar Pits if you can't get a DME group).
Essence of Water in Felwood at the lake in the northeast.
Larval Acid off EPL grubs of course.

Honestly farming for larval acids isn't worth it, you can get them for like 7g a lot of the time.

Fun fact: There are neutral trash mobs in AQ20 that drop larval acid.

I usually kill the grubs on my way to stratholme I always get atleast 1 acid. The big ones have a much better drop rate.

It's honestly easier to farm for cash versus farming for the item. I'm still working on making Truefaith vestments since Prophecy will never drop.

If you really want to go to Onyxia and MC prepared, work on some FR gear, this will greatly increase your survivability. You should be fine with devout gear going in, but Dire Maul offers some great +heal gear to look at.

Acid really isn't as bad as you'd think. When I was farming for my hide of the wild, I'd go to EPL and kill the Devourers, the Grubs and in between I'd hit up the lakes (south of Corrins and the other one in the middle of the map iirc) and try my luck for water essences. Finish up essences in Un'Goro with the Tar Lords.

Farming for cash to buy the items is a lot faster.

Can the Noxxion trinket cure it?

It's not a real poison, it's just like scholo ghouls.

The feign thing is just that a part of the zone is just crawling with this little neutral things. They make it impossible for hunters to feign because one of them will always resist your feign, but if you kill them they blow up. Very annoying.

But they drop acid!

Thanks for the replys guys, its helpful. How much FR should I shoot for Pre-MC? I have like 40 or 50 already, and I still need the enchant from Argent Dawn for the shoulders.. Should I be going for 100+

As a priest, you'll really only need it for the latter half of MC. Before that, just keep getting what you can until you hit 200 unbuffed.

Yeah you typically get a good amount of FR from MC gear.

Rezzes take up less time and effort than those so called "heals."

The trick to being a good priest is to avoid being drawn into combat for as long as possible, then scramble with the other 8 OOC rezzers to see who can rez the fastest.

Bonus points if the raid survives and you still go OOM from rezzes.

early on you wont get much of any craftable FR gear so most will be non-MC. 200 might be a bit extreme for MC(I dont think I ever went above 130) but get as much as possible. I went and got every crappy piece of fr I could and equipped it then I started to knock off pieces where I had big upgrades that made me more viable and I think on our first rag kill I was like 130 fr. eventually I started trimming that down more and more till I was at like 110 on most rag kills. Vael requires more though.

I didn't mean to say you'd get 200 before the latter part of MC. Just that as a priest, you need to work on +FR until you hit 200 unbuffed. Once you hit 200, it's not such an issue.

And 200 isn't extreme for MC at all. Just because it can be done with less doesn't make it the most practical.

I just think when you are starting MC 200 is unrealistic. I just pushes people to put stuff like wizardweave on. I would rather see someone with 100fr but good stats than the same person with 200 fr and crap stats.

Are you retarded or just plain stupid? I DID NOT SAY YOU NEEDED 200 FIRE RESIST BEFORE STARTING MOLTEN FREAKING CORE.

As a priest, take what you can get. Don't wear shitty greens. wear green rings if you can get them, Engineering/Enchanting trinket, Blazing Emblem if you can get it, those Rend boots, some leggings from Vectus if you can get them (haha good luck), and you'll be ok.

What you want in the long run is a t1 hat with +20 FR from a Libram, Flarecore Gloves and Mantle, etc.

But really, you can survive as a cloth caster with 0 FR. Just don't get within 40 yards of a Firewalker.

I know that, I probably should have clarified myself. I was really talking about one you get to ragnaros(I went through the fire packs with like 40 fr till I started taking ragnaros seriously). I just see too many people asking for wizardweave, volcanic and thorium armor to get created cause people tell them to get FR.
I understand that you are saying that you should strive to get FR till you get 200. Once you get 200 FR the need for more FR does not exist.
