Yeah you typically get a good amount of FR from MC gear.

Rezzes take up less time and effort than those so called "heals."

The trick to being a good priest is to avoid being drawn into combat for as long as possible, then scramble with the other 8 OOC rezzers to see who can rez the fastest.

Bonus points if the raid survives and you still go OOM from rezzes.

early on you wont get much of any craftable FR gear so most will be non-MC. 200 might be a bit extreme for MC(I dont think I ever went above 130) but get as much as possible. I went and got every crappy piece of fr I could and equipped it then I started to knock off pieces where I had big upgrades that made me more viable and I think on our first rag kill I was like 130 fr. eventually I started trimming that down more and more till I was at like 110 on most rag kills. Vael requires more though.

I didn't mean to say you'd get 200 before the latter part of MC. Just that as a priest, you need to work on +FR until you hit 200 unbuffed. Once you hit 200, it's not such an issue.

And 200 isn't extreme for MC at all. Just because it can be done with less doesn't make it the most practical.

I just think when you are starting MC 200 is unrealistic. I just pushes people to put stuff like wizardweave on. I would rather see someone with 100fr but good stats than the same person with 200 fr and crap stats.

Are you retarded or just plain stupid? I DID NOT SAY YOU NEEDED 200 FIRE RESIST BEFORE STARTING MOLTEN FREAKING CORE.

As a priest, take what you can get. Don't wear shitty greens. wear green rings if you can get them, Engineering/Enchanting trinket, Blazing Emblem if you can get it, those Rend boots, some leggings from Vectus if you can get them (haha good luck), and you'll be ok.

What you want in the long run is a t1 hat with +20 FR from a Libram, Flarecore Gloves and Mantle, etc.

But really, you can survive as a cloth caster with 0 FR. Just don't get within 40 yards of a Firewalker.

I know that, I probably should have clarified myself. I was really talking about one you get to ragnaros(I went through the fire packs with like 40 fr till I started taking ragnaros seriously). I just see too many people asking for wizardweave, volcanic and thorium armor to get created cause people tell them to get FR.
I understand that you are saying that you should strive to get FR till you get 200. Once you get 200 FR the need for more FR does not exist.

Cool, ok, so I'm on the right track, I have the Dragonrider Boots +10, some necklace from DM +10, DM trinket +10, the bracers from that fire dude in BRD +14(I think), seems like there is something else, but I can't remember right now.

go back to BRD and get some good eagle FR bracers. You lose 4 FR but you will get stats. blazing emblem is another good trinket but on sargeras they run about 300g or you can farm for it(world drop).
you will get a 15 fr ring from your water quests in azshara(need honored with hydraxian waterlord faction to do hands quest but you can get others done).
UBRS key is 10 fr or you can get one of those greens through drop or through getting ass raped by the AH. Hyper-radiant flame reflector is nice if you are engineering. Wizardweave should be a last and very desperate choice.

Anyone intentionally sitting in the middle of lava packs with 40 fire resist is a burden to the raid group. And if people want to improve their resists with gear that also has decent stats, you shouldn't begrudge them for doing so.

Like you said already, it's silly to strive for a high FR if you're doing it with a bunch of greens, but it's even sillier to drag ass in your search for it if your only reason is "Well, I've done ok without it up until now."

well I will agree with that. I did have that attitude though initially. It was terrible I went through all of MC with a maximum of 40fr and got to rag for the first time and the next raid our RL says next raid 100 fr minimum for healers. I spent every waking, non-working moment getting FR. It is much easier to get setup ahead of time. So I guess if you never learn anything else from the elitist jerks forums learn one thing. Dont be like hamlet.
