3.1 Achievement changes

World of Warcraft - Wrath of the Lich King Achievements

Noble garden had some effort put into it, "the Insane" seems to be the new to-get title and the Argent Tournament will be quite a nice content filler for the time being.

Some very obvious changes were made aswell, but could anyone on the PTR confirm that they deleted the "Hot Hot Hot Streak"?

I have leveled Bloodsail rep to get the hat during Burning Crusade and subsequently destroying the rep again via cloth hand in's just after so I could level cooking. Since then I have also done the Dire Maul grind for exalted goblin factions for my 40 exalted title (my favourite at the moment).

I don't think I could level Bloodsail from 0/36000 and then redo goblins a 2nd time. The Shen'dralar, Darkmoon Faire and Ravenholdt rep would be ok but not all of it together... I hope I don't give in to myself and try it.

Perhaps it require you to be exalted with goblins and honored with Bloodsail at a given time , but not to be exalted AND honored at the same time.
Also I'm pretty sure that if it's the case they may consider that having the hat is enough so you don't have to regrind your reputation to honored.

I'm currently exalted with Shen'dralar and soon to be with Ravenholdt but I would like if someone could share his experience concerning Darkmoon fair.

What would be the cheapest way to reach exalted? the level 20 inscription cards would require around 1300 stacks of Briarthorn, Swiftthistle, Bruiseweed, and Stranglekelp. Perhaps gathering the old world darkmoon cards (Warlord Elemental...) may help as well as they are currently pretty cheap?

The Sholazar Basin reputation achievement does not require you to be exalted with both factions at the same time. This will probably be the same with Steamwheedle Cartel/Bloodsail.

That's because it's impossible to be exalted with The Oracles and Frenzyheart Tribe at the same time, but it is possible to be up to revered with Bloodsail Buccaneers while being exalted with the whole Cartel.

Where is this insane information coming from? Looking at the achievement pane on the US PTR I do not see any achievements based around those reputations.

One interesting thing I do see as far as achievements go is there is a tab under world events for Darkmoon Faire though it currently just opens an empty page.

The Noblegarden changes look interesting. Based on the calender it appears that it will run from April 12th to April 18th this year.

Lileith 02/24/09 8:56 AM

It's not an Achievement but a Feat of Strength (that's why you can't track it in game).

Achievements are kept in a Database that is available client-side (as are the Spells and Talents database, for instance). Someone knowledgeable can extract these databases from the MPQ files and read the description there.

Well if these are datamined achievements, theres also the distinct possibility that this is just a joke. Remember "Tusker Armageddon (kill 1.000,000 seals) Reward Seal Bashing Club" . That was in the Beta, I seem to remember a couple of others as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Blizzard said that was just an achievement to test, well, achievements. They removed it and made it what it is now (exalted with Kalu'ak) when they were done testing it.

The Noblegarden achievements seem pretty believable, especially since it's been a really lackluster holiday up till now. Shake Your Bunny-Maker gave me a laugh too :)

If they are adding Noble Garden Achievements, does that mean that they intend 3.1 to hit prior to Noble Garden, giving it an ETA of early April? The only other option I see is them patching it in seperate of 3.1, or expecting people to wait a full year to complete them. Which I guess isn't too bad because I don't recall Noble Garden being part of the overall holiday Meta Achievement, unless they changed the Meta Achievement.

I believe this is correct, although, it can be done simultaneously via Free Knot! - Quest - World of Warcraft.

I was wondering this myself. Looking at last years dates - Easter was March 23rd and Noble Garden coincided with that. Easter this year is April 12th which might be doable for them, but I would be surprised to see them tie themselves to a hard date like that.

Daave 02/24/09 5:34 PM

It's very possible that Blizzard has a set date later in April, and it's an even greater possibility that they could push some of these changes live pre-3.1.0, in a 3.0.10 patch.

Cuer 02/24/09 8:21 PM

The in-game calendar on the PTR lists Noblegarden as starting on April 12, and running for a week; the live version calendar just has it for that one day. So they are presumably planning on making these changes this year, for all the achievements to be available. Whether that means they have to patch in 3.1 by April 7 at the latest, or they're already planning on another intermediate patch that just has small changes like these achievement changes, only Blizzard knows.
