Ulduar Posting Guidelines

People may remember that for Sunwell, we had rules governing the amount of time/kills that needed to have elapsed before discussion of a given boss was permitted. For Ulduar, things are a bit different. There are going to be PTR previews, complete with live streams, of every boss. Shrouding them in complete secrecy is a silly idea. What I would specifically like to avoid is hardmode-specific detailed strategy discussions and spoilers, to the extent that those begin to become applicable. Obviously, speculating about what a hardmode might entail, or the like, is fine. Just don't ask for or dispense strategy/tactics relating to how to best approach that hardmode.

Discussing what seems fun, buggy, overtuned, undertuned, etc., is entirely fine. Feel free to discuss your PTR experiences -- it's a useful discussion to have. Thanks.

Now that Ulduar is live, it's time to revisit the posting guidelines. We're going to largely continue the guidelines that Gurgthock outlined for the PTR. No discussion about hard modes until they've been widely beaten. (If you think it's time to broach a topic and you're not sure, send one of us a PM and ask.) Absolutely no discussion about Algalon and Yogg-Saron until they've been widely beaten. Since people's definition of "widely" may vary, lets arbitrarily define it as 50 US kills OR 3 weeks after the first US kill, whichever one is later.

Feel free to start discussion on normal difficulty bosses (except Algalon/YS of course) immediately, but please don't start a topic unless you actually have a pertinent question to ask. This isn't Bosskillers or StratFu, you can get your basic rundown/overview of a boss elsewhere.

As mentioned above, Yogg-Saron talk can start tomorrow.

Everything except for hard modes and Algalon will be up for discussion. Hard modes will be off limits for the foreseeable future, as that's still very much a competitive thing.

Opening up discussion on basically everything EXCEPT the following hard modes and Algalon himself:

Mimiron
Freya
Yogg

As always, don't ask questions if you haven't actually put some time into beating the encounter.

Oh hey, it's been a while. Feel free to talk about anything except Yogg+0 and Algalon himself.

Feel free to start detailed strategy talk on Algalon now, although it's not a terribly complicated fight. The only thing off limits now is Yogg+0.

You will be mocked and infracted if you post about Algalon without having at least pulled him. We're not here to craft your strat before you walk in the first week.
