Hey guys, thanx for all of the work you're doing...sorry the alliance sucks so bad at farming or putting together any kind of concerted effor whatsoever. I'll keep sending any horde matts I can get from the nublings in IF...

Hey...I just wanted to see if there were any Horde people supplying runecloth for Alliance turn-ins. I have been authorized to spend 2.3g on each stack by an Alliance person I am helping out for their turn-ins for the war effort. So, if you know of anyone that is selling stacks, I'm buying up to 250 stacks. Thanks!

Sweet. To be honest though, I would not recommend that if you really want to be helpful/efficient.
Alliance runecloth is already in very good shape, and natural player self-interest will push it to completion. Runecloth is plentiful, easy to farm, and yields very good turn-in rewards in terms of tokens and reward boxes. No one needs to force people to gather runecloth.
(Now, if the person just wants to raise faction for their epic mount and is looking for cheaper runecloth on the Horde side since we're done, then go right ahead. I don't know of any sellers, though.)
But if you're looking to help the war effort as a whole, spending that gold on mass quantities of arthas' tears, light leather, medium leather, linen, and silk, would be far more efficient.

She's looking for the cheapest way to get the largest amount of faction for an epic mount of another race. hehe She figured this would likely be the easiest way to achieve that, and help the AQ gate opening in the process.

Probably, yeah. People are still trying to sell Runecloth at ridiculous prices on the AH, but I'm sure if you talk to some of them you might be able to work out a bulk rate.

Shame on you, Gurg, for thinking someone was being altruistic.

Altruism basically never exists. Even people who do things for no tangible benefit often derive extreme satisfaction out of knowing that they did something "altruistically" which means, of course, that they didn't.

Or perhaps deriving gratification from acts that confer a tangible benefit to others as opposed to acts that confer a tangible benefit to oneself is the very definition of altruism.

It's possible.
But you'd have to show me someone who was often altruistic without ever being at least smug to them selves about it before I'd believe it, and I've yet to meet that person.

I could list several things I've done that were of no benefit to me, but in doing so I'd prove your point by making it look as if I did them to make myself more favorable in your eyes.
But are you saying that the act of helping someone at your own expense is supposed to be emotionally harmful for it to qualify as altruism?

No, I'm just being extra cynical today. I'm sure that someone somewhere has managed to do things that were not to thier obstensible benefit without actualy doing them for the satisfaction they derive therefrom.
Realistically, it makes very little difference if you act altruisticly in order to feel better about yourself, the actions still take place at no cost to the other party.

Perhaps you've already met him and just failed to recognize him because he doesn't openly brag or gloat over his own accomplishments in life.

How to farm loads of medium leather:
All of the worgen in Darkshire can be skinned for medium leather (as well as some heavy leather, which is no longer needed, but can be turned into thick leather if you get enough of it). The absolute best place is marked in pink on the map. When fully respawned, there are 16 or so worgen that can easily be collected and AoE'd down (they're level 29-31). There will always be three spawned, and the entire camp takes about 5 minutes or so to fully respawn. You can either just kill them as they spawn, or clear the Rotting Orchard camps (green) then come back and get them in bulk. They're also humanoids, so they drop coin (about a silver each).
As a resto druid, I was able to get about a stack of medium leather every 3-5 minutes. I would collect large groups of worgen with rank 1 moonfire, barkskin, then hurricane them all down. Things would probably go a bit faster if you had someone to loot them while you focus on skinning.
If you need someone to help transfer the leather (or anything else for that matter), have Sheepy or Gurgthock give you our vent info, or contact me on IRC (tritus on zirc, gamesurge, alliance-irc). Keep up the good work :)
