Yes, that order's about right. Zibro is our coal mining canary, our guinea pig of threat if you will. As long as he hasn't fallen over dead we're safe. Slug and Blam are the second line of defense for us poor defenseless Dark Pact specs.
It's really a shame those things don't live long enough for Curse of Doom. :(
Since shadow weaving got moved up in the tree to 15 points, a priest can have both it and power infusion. Combine this with the mana conservation talents in disc, and while the priest won't do as much damage as a 31-34 shadow build, they can spam lower ranks of mind flay to gain mana (Or max rank on alliance side, <3 blessing/judgment of EZMode). Between this and power infusion, your raid will do lots of damage, you'll have the mana pool to FH in fights where it's more useful, and you can cause a warlock of your choosing to generate so much agro that rag stands up, lumbers over to said warlock, turns his hammer sideways and... yeah.
Well, Arc/Frost is the way to go if you are purely PvE, in litereally every sense of the word. Back in the day, when MC was actually a challenge, no one could argue the viability of frost over fire. However, as it stands now.. Fire is very much viable, thanks to AQ.
IceBlock is amazing for PvE and PvP. IB is great when you pull aggro.. the moment you see your name on MT's Target's Target, you Iceblock - a dirty little escape.
Also, we have a couple of Mages with Improved Scorch - this adds 10% to our damage. You can go pure fire and get Firepower... thus giving you a massive 20% increase in damage. This is NOT trivial at all!!
The 10% alone from Improved Scorch is great, Firepower is some sweet iceing.
I personally cant wait for the Mage talent review.
Ofcourse, there will be fights like Ragnaros, and BWL drakes, where a Frost mage will substantially out damage other Mages - but who cares about those guys?
The problem is, however, that Fire damage output is capped at a much lower threshold than, say, a Hunter's since Mages don't have an inate and activateable hate modifying skill for Fire or Frost.
I was personally a Fire Mage in MC and on non-Fire immune mobs I'd simply use Fireball. I did extremely well in terms of damage output, especially with the old CoE.

Well, that is an inherent problem with the Mage class as whole, regardless of spec. I am confident that the developers are going to look into that in the upcoming Mage talent review
heh, theoritically, you dont need any other DPS other than Hunters. Blizzard realises this and therefore has started designing encounters that specifically force certain numbers of classes.

Well in the "Optimal Raid" everyone would be there on time and therefore not require a summon.
Edit: But yeah switch out a druid for a warlock for Imp on tank
This is why I will always have three points in Improved Imp.
Well, that, and because it prevents me from spending those points on Devastation, which could lead to unfortunate consequences sooner than I've come to expect.
