I think they restarted Mal'Ganis 4 days last week during late night raids I was on? I don't remember what I was doing ingame, because I spent most of the week raiding the login server and that damned blue bar. (Tricky bastard, he is.)

This weekend it finally just keeled over and died during the twin emps. Instead of the twin emps and such, I got to raid the void beneath Boulderslide Ravine; since that's where they like to put you when the server dies while you're in a raidzone. So much for AQ40 this weekend for me.



Then I tried BWL, but it wasn't working very well, either. Nemesis bracers finally actually dropped for me, so it wasn't a total loss. Teewee did get some ten storms boots, too, but he couldn't loot the corpse. I guess that's like Christmas on the street outside a department store. Maybe sometime next week he'll get a message from CS telling him they can't help him and please keep his fingers off the glass.

When our server finally catches fire and explodes, I hope it at least has the decency to burn down all the other blocks so they don't have to suffer anymore, either.

It's nice to know that Elune wasn't the only server with the cyclone of corpses above Alterac Mountains last night, I guess...

You forgot to mention one sweet aspect of BWL: on Nefarian, in addition to often having Drakonids double- and triple-spawn at once, a large portion of everyone's Onyxia Scale Cloaks didn't function properly... which allowed the weak Shadow Flame on the Phase 2 transition to put the debuff on about 25 people, and tick several times before it was removed.

That happened to you too? I wasn't entirely aware that it wasn't supposed to, but I distinctly remember seeing 2-3 Green drakonids come out at a given time. Maybe that's where part of our problem came from. Got up to 32 Drakonids killed, but, inevitably, lost control and wiped.

Man, WoW just keeps becoming more and more like Eternal Darkness.

I kill people for the Dark Brotherhood, then steal their shit and sell it to the Thieves Guild... works nicely.

Yea... I'm glad I'm not the only one that was creeped out by it.


It still blows my mind that the servers are this unstable after nearly a year and a half of retail service. I can understand that WoW has a gigantic population, but I don't understand why it seems that fixing server instability tends to be of lower priority. I get the feeling that Blizzard's fix to these server problems is just to open up new servers.

Granted, I don't work for Blizzard nor do I have any intimate knowledge on how they operate and for all we know the server issues may be something that is extremely difficult to fix, but I just get frustrated at times. :(

Well, supposedly the new hardware is a lot more stable, even under load.

Too bad production servers with populations have to wait to be moved over while new servers, which need it less, get it right away.

Over/under on amount of server vomits/login issues/hyperlags experienced tonight? It is patch day, after all.

I'm wishing I had Oblivion right about now...

I should go read something meaningful, like Virgil, but breaking into peoples houses and jacking all their shit is just too tempting.

And assassinating people, that too. My Dark Brotherhood armor looks so much more awesome than anything I was able to get a hold of prior.

Oblivion is very open, like Morrowind. I know with Morrowind I beat the main mission, started various characters and then got bored with it. With Oblivion I am spending a lot of time on the other quests, such as Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood. Between work, sleep, and raiding on WoW I don't get a whole lot of time on Oblivion either. I think that will be nice for it's longevity.

Now, back to killing people I have never met for cool shit.

I highly recommend it. I tried Morrowind and didn't like it all that much (the massive amounts of reading material each NPC spewed out for you to choose from really turned me off). This game has a much better approach and is insanely fun with what you can do in it. And the game is massive, I don't think I've even gone to most of the towns yet.

oblivion was ok until i cheated and ruined the entire game :)

I only used the console to change my class okay? :(

I regreted Speechcraft as a main ability so I changed it to Marksmanship.

I better get a free day for today... work allllll day come home at 9PM and see that the World of Servercrap is still down :(
