1) What is your opinion on Dishonorable Kills, good idea or bad one?
I don't pvp

2) Which is a better choice for a warrior that tanks some of the time and dps' part of the time, Nefarion Neck or Ring?
I don't know

3) Do you like the class you chose to play or would you reroll given the opportunity, if so what class would you reroll?
I love my priest

Questions about the player.

3) How old are you? (don't have to answer if you don't want to)
22

4) What do you do for a living, i.e. school or work?
Senior in physics heading into medicine in the fall

5) How much time do you spend playing the game each week?
20-40+

6) How many 60s do you have and what class or classes are they?
Horde: 60 Priest, 60 Rogue, 60 Shaman; Alliance: 60 Paladin - all on Mal'Ganis

7) Do you play any serious alts, if so what are they?
With our raiding schedule I haven't had much time to play my alts, but at the moment I would say my paladin is my more serious of the three alts.

8) How many epics do you have?
Too many ~ 40ish. My priest is very well geared, and my alts have a random assortment of purples.

1) The DK system wasn't designed very well. Blizzard was trying to force out some pvp content and we ended up with this half-assed shit. I don't like DKs and I especially don't like the fact they tag civilians in random places like fucking Gnomeregan.

2) The neck. I regret taking the ring.

3) I enjoy being a warrior and I especially enjoy the top-notch community of warriors in EJ. We're very close-knit and while maybe not respectful of each other, at least very entertaining and interesting.

So I don't know. If I was in a pubbie guild I would probably be a priest, which unshockingly, I am ...

Questions about the player.

3) 24

4) A little of this, a little of that.

5) Too much

6) I have 2 60's, a warrior in EJ and a priest in VXIX

7) My priest raids with another guild and has a whooping two pieces of trance.

8) Over both characters? Something like fifty to sixty.

you're the one that decided to trust me

1) None really

2) Most of our OT's are about 80% dps and 20% tank, so I'd probably say the ring. But it's probably heavily dependant on your stage of content.

3) My raid main is a mage. It literally takes a stiff breeze to get me to roll an alt, and I like to grind mobs when I'm thinking about something, so they level pretty naturally.

About Me.

3) 26

4) I'm in armor development

5) 15-40, depending on the week.

6) I have 4 60's now. My mage, a warrior, a warlock, and a druid. The mage is my main, the druid is specced resto and stands in if we're seriously short druids or healers, and the warlock is heavy destruction for toying around in BG's mostly. The warrior I don't play much, but will run 5 mans now and again.

7) I don't know about serious. I have a 52 rogue, a 27 shaman, and a 24 priest that I've logged more than twice in the past two weeks though. I love rested exp, what can I say?

8) 14 on my mage, 5 on my druid, 2 on my warlock

Don't know where to stick this, but anyone want a pair of Abyssal Mail Legguards of Restoration for their alt or something? Not really worth selling and it's just sitting around so I figure someone on Horde could use it (no cost).

1. I hate them. Passionately. I could go on for a very long time about this, but instead I'll summarize my thoughts.

Before I played WoW, I played Planetside. Right now, I'm playing WoW and Oblivion. Something in common between all three games is that they have amazing worlds, lovingly handcrafted and filled with detail. Another thing in common is that they all have features or mechanics that funnel gameplay out of the world (or away from it) and into other places. I figure that to be self-defeating, a waste of development time, little fun, and just plain stupid.

I feel DK's (and battlegrounds!) to be a huge and detrimental contribution there. It's a shame, too, because the PVP groundwork is excellent.

2) Entirely up to the warrior in question. I fit such a description and chose the ring. My experience is that there are a bunch of comparable epic tanking necks, but comparable DPS rings are few and far between (AND have low drop rates). To top it off, I'm a stickler for getting the necessary +hit gear to zero out my miss rate.

3) I love my warrior, but at times I feel that my server is overflowing with AP/TOEP/ZHC frost mages and TOEP/ZHC Seduce/Nuke warlocks on the opposing side. Yes, I know they were nerfed, but referring to them as such is an example of the kind of skill they exhibit without their cooldowns.

In any case, that doesn't stop me from running into eighty-six of them while logging in at Cenarion Hold and merrily trotting to the AQ gates. My guildmates on vent could tell you how much fun I have being a warrior during such a time.

If I could reroll, it would be as a Soul Link Warlock with the necessary gear to have ridiculous felhunter resists and generally be immune to casters. I would exact merciless and horrific revenge upon every horde mage and warlock on my server. Then, I'd get a cold drink and log back on my warrior.

3 again) I'm 20.

4) Student + math tutor.

5) 30ish hours a week, mostly on the weekends/days I don't have classes.

6) Two: my warrior, and the rogue I started the game with and quickly became dissatisfied with (it now resides in a dusty closet).

7) I have a demonology-specced warlock (level 44 and rising!) that I play when I'm not raiding. Oh yes, I WILL have my revenge.

8) A lot. I've been raiding about as early as it was possible. The answer is somewhere a bit above 40 - including items rotted, and not including crafts or the occassional item that didn't cost DKP, either from ZG, a quest, etc.

1. DK's are trash, I have 3 on my paladin from the STV zepplin days, 0 on my warrior. They single handedly caused some people to quit pvp outright because of an accidental pull which set someone's rank back when getting ranks was signifigantly harder

2. I took the neck, I can understand if you take the ring. I got my neck before the ossirian thing was an option, and I wouldn't change my decision now that it is an option because in my humble opinion (and many will disagree) they are NOT comparable. But then again I was pvping with a myrmidon's signet when I quit.

3. I started the game as a paladin (named armstrong O_O ) in closed beta, I promptly rerolled at level 21 to a warrior and played that till the end of closed beta. The infamous "awesome changes" disgusted me and the paladin on paper was more to my liking, but it was the hardest decision I ever had to make in the game to roll a Paladin for release. I rerolled back to warrior after getting 2 pieces of judgement from molten core on my release paladin (which a lot of people were real bent out of shape about) and played my warrior till I was unable to play the game anymore. Rerolling is hard, but I was infinitley glad that I did end up going back to a warrior at the end of the day. (sorry that one was a bit off topic)

---

4. I'm 20 years old

5. I'm a student at Colorado State

6. I don't play anymore, but when I did it was about 10-40 hours a week, depending on what content was out.

7. As before, I have a 60 Paladin (Anglakel) a 60 Warrior (Armstrong) and a 50 Hunter (Anglikel)

8. My paladin is a pretty serious alt. I raided with him whenever I wanted to, and I've got set bonuses from Lawbringer and Judgement. I used him to farm incindius for a long time for those aces which is why every screenshot of my ui has like 1700 gold. Godspeed little Anglakel.

9. Between Anglakel and Armstrong I have probably 60-65 purples, including a malastar's defender on my warrior and a quel'serrar on my paladin :-(

1) What is your opinion on Dishonorable Kills, good idea or bad one?
I really miss the raucousness of Goon Squad and multiguild city raids. They were always a very fun break from the big 3 waaaay, way back in the day. It's too bad we don't do that anymore because people will cry about their honor.

2) Which is a better choice for a warrior that tanks some of the time and dps' part of the time, Nefarion Neck or Ring?
I took a look, and I don't know enough about warriors to make a good recommendation.

3) Do you like the class you chose to play or would you reroll given the opportunity, if so what class would you reroll?
I love my druid for big raids and I like my mage for PvP and smaller instance groups. I don't think I could or would reroll.

3) How old are you?
22

4) What do you do for a living, i.e. school or work?
Computer engineer outside of Washington DC

5) How much time do you spend playing the game each week?
30 hours or so. So lonely. :(

6) How many 60s do you have and what class or classes are they?
60 druid (main), 60 hunter, 57 mage

7) Do you play any serious alts, if so what are they?
I take the three characters I listed quite seriously. I'm a huge nerd and have all these to do lists for them - gear, factions, trade skills. I play my mage the most now because I'm running out of solo stuff to do on my druid. And this includes every damn resist set. :(

8) How many epics do you have?
49 on my druid, maybe 10 combined on my hunter and mage.

1) I think the whole Honor system is poorly designed. DK's more so than the rest of it.

2) This is mostly an issue of personal preference. Which do you see yourself using more; which do you see yourself replacing sooner, etc.

3) I'm glad I'm playing a Mage, but it's a bit qualified.

As damage classes go, Rogues have the most interesting stuff going on behind their sheer DPS output. I'm a mathematician, and would have fit right in with Wodin and Kalman. I can't say why I wouldn't rather be playing a Rogue, except that the flavor doesn't feel right. My first D&D character was a Wizard; the D2 char I played most was Sorceress, etc.

I find tanking kind of neat, and go out of my way quite a bit to micromanage the tanks in our raids. I've wondered at times whether I would rather play a Warrior as a raid main. The problem there is that, by now, all that I really find interesting about the game itself is coordinating 40-man tactics. And ranged DPS is terribly convenient for leading raids--you can see everything easily, and you generally don't have too much to pay attention to what your character is doing, etc.

As a Mage, I can probably use my char at 90% of his ability while my real attention is used up calling spins on Lethon, or constantly swapping groups around as people die on Vael, or whatever else, and that's important to me. As a main tank, with my view blocked by a giant mob like Chromaggus, I wouldn't even know what ridiculous things people are doing elsewhere in the raid.

Finally, after playing a Mage for a year, I wouldn't be happy playing a class without Teleport and conjuration. I don't like wasting time. For example, I couldn't handle Soul Shard farming, which is the exact opposite of the conveniences that Mages get. Actually, by this point, when I'm logged in to any other character for some reason, I'm mildly disoriented by the lack of Blink.

------------------

3) 22

4) Undergraduate in physics and mathematics. Also, for the moment, working part-time in game development.

5) Too much. 25 hours, maybe. If I cut on pointless things like this, however, and delegated a bit more, I could get by with little playing outside of raid times.

6) Just this one.

7) Could never get interested in alts. I got one up to 41 last summer, and even that completely petered out after a while.

8) Every char slot, many with multiples. Don't feel like logging in or counting mentally right now, but I'll estimate 40 Epics and 1 Legendary.

1.) I have 2500 dishonorable kills. Living in fear of an NPC because it says "Civilian" is dumb. I also dislike the concept behind an NPC you can't kill spawning endless guards.

2.) Nefarian Neck is the best tanking neck in the game. The ring is nice, but it can be replaced more easily than the neck.

3.) Shaman. No I would not reroll.

I am 19 years old.

I am an EMT-b who presently does not work in the EMS industry.

Less than 2 hours of WoW a week, these days.

I have a single level 60 shaman, but about 200 levels of warrior spread across various characters.

My most serious alt is my level 39 warrior Buwbuw. He is a trooper.

I don't know. I stopped counting epics a while ago.

I have been 5/8 since November. Bracers, shoulders, and chest just are not in our loot tables. On the plus side, the cross-class loot has been flowing in!

edit: Ok, so my avatar isn't 100% accurate. But I hate the way Cenarion looks after having looked at it every day for ... a very long time. I used to wear Green Whelp armor in Ironforge just so I could see my pretty setpieces that are hidden by my ugly dress.

1) What is your opinion on Dishonorable Kills, good idea or bad one?

It killed city raiding as mentioned. World pvp compared to battlegrounds is so much more fun, it's a shame really.

2) Which is a better choice for a warrior that tanks some of the time and dps' part of the time, Nefarion Neck or Ring?

Is he that spinning dragon guy?

3) Do you like the class you chose to play or would you reroll given the opportunity, if so what class would you reroll?

I enjoyed playing my warlock a great deal when it was a challenging, underdog type of class. Once they buffed him, everyone made one and I was no longer a unique snowflake, which killed a lot of the fun. I'd probably enjoy playing a priest.

Questions about the player.

3) How old are you? (don't have to answer if you don't want to)
29

4) What do you do for a living, i.e. school or work?

System developer in a great firm that makes marketing resource management solutions :)

5) How much time do you spend playing the game each week?

Zero since I quit, but when I played I used to play 35-50 hours a week on average.

6) How many 60s do you have and what class or classes are they?

3: Warlock, Priest, Warrior.

7) Do you play any serious alts, if so what are they?

I had a level 35 mage as well.

8) How many epics do you have?

Not sure, I can't find myself in the jp system

1) Dumb. Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb. Then again, my goblin rep got screwed because of a city raid (well, Booty Bay old skool pvp), so I guess it prevents that from happening. Or something.

2) I took the ring, whatever that means. (and that's not I HATE TANKING)

3) Wouldn't give up warriordom for anything, they're the best class in this damn game.

Questions about the player.

3) 22

4) Currently at work as a lab monkey, not working on two projects I have to do for school. So both.

5) Not much lately, but mostly just raids and the occasional instance run, so a couple hours a night.

6) 2: Warrior and Hunter

7) I don't know if I'd call my hunter serious, but he has a few epics, and is an entertaining diversion. I just picked a hunter because I hate classes that use mana (and rogues are gay).

8) 36, and not an epic tanking neck to speak of. I hate you Ossirian!

This post needs more parenthesis.

This game sucks.

1) What is your opinion on Dishonorable Kills, good idea or bad one?
I think its probably one of the worst design decisions Blizzard made in not only the Honor system, but the game itself. As Horde on Mal'Ganis, I had to rely on world pvp (BRM, menethil, silithus) in order to get CP in between 30-60 minute queue times. Accidently killing a civilian and losing a weeks worth of work is fucking stupid.

That being said, I dont really miss huge city raids. They were usually a clusterfuck. I prefer the competition of an even 10v10 Warsong game that can last for an hour or more.

2) Which is a better choice for a warrior that tanks some of the time and dps' part of the time, Nefarion Neck or Ring?
I dont really tank that much, and Ossirian neck is pretty similar. I took the ring.

3) Do you like the class you chose to play or would you reroll given the opportunity, if so what class would you reroll?
Warrior 4 lyfe

Questions about the player.

3) How old are you? (don't have to answer if you don't want to)
20

4) What do you do for a living, i.e. school or work?
Computer Science, UMass Dartmouth

5) How much time do you spend playing the game each week?
Idle in Orgrimmar waiting for a battleground, or actually playing?

6) How many 60s do you have and what class or classes are they?
I don't have an alt that is above level 31.

7) Do you play any serious alts, if so what are they?
No.

I'm at work right now so I dont know.

Okay I'll play

1) What is your opinion on Dishonorable Kills, good idea or bad one?
Maybe a good idea at one point, but they single-handedly destroyed the only kind of PvP I really enjoyed. I actually had some PvP rank back when we were regularly raiding Darnassus et al. Now I'm a Scout and proud of it. Give me back my world PvP bliz!

2) Which is a better choice for a warrior that tanks some of the time and dps' part of the time, Nefarion Neck or Ring?

Don't ask me. My warrior is prot spec without Last Stand and has 45% damage reduction.

3) Do you like the class you chose to play or would you reroll given the opportunity, if so what class would you reroll?

I don't like my class. I LOVE it. The only thing that would make me reroll now is the possibility of making a Tauren Warlock for the 5% hp bonus.

3) How old are you? (don't have to answer if you don't want to)

29

4) What do you do for a living, i.e. school or work?

Alternating between full-time and part-time student, plus a full time job as a Senior Clerk with the school district. Mostly data entry and archival work right now.

5) How much time do you spend playing the game each week?

I'd say I average 10-15 hours per week, depending how busy my weekends are.

6) How many 60s do you have and what class or classes are they?

Two. Warlock, Warrior.

7) Do you play any serious alts, if so what are they?

54 Rogue, 24 Hunter, 28 holy DPS priest. Also I consider my two bank alts fairly serious if only because I've purchased bags for them, and 4 bank slots for one.

8) How many epics do you have?

I have five epic belts, a fact I rather enjoy except when I run into bank space problems. Other than that I haven't bothered to count, but Briarwood Reed is the only blue I wear in my DPS clothes these days.

1) Worst idea ever. If they didn't want quest NPCs killed, they should have buffed them to make them annoying to kill, like the flight masters, with 0 aggro radius.

2) My warrior is ineligible to do BWL, so I haven't looked.

3a) Love my shaman. He is a reroll, as my first 60 was my hunter.

3b) 34

4) Sotware Engineer in the games industry (not related to anything Blizzard)

5) Way too much

6) 3 - Shaman, Warrior, Hunter

7) I love the variety that playing different classes provides, as well as being able to experience content from different perspectives. I have every class in various stages of development.

8) 42 on my shaman, 5 on my warrior. None on other characters.

1) DK's were necessary in some form, my opinion is that 1, hardware practicalities and 2, the PvP honor treadmill were the real culprits for the death of world PvP. Leader kill raids were some of my most memorable WoW experiences, next to Bonechewer's bitter 3-day first-Azuregos standoff and our first Rag/Nef.

3) I loved playing a Paladin. Although I have some fundamental issues with the design of the class, I don't think I would reroll another class given the opportunity. If I were forced to, I would play either a Druid or Shaman (not positive on Shaman, since I haven't played as/with them and don't know the particulars of the playstyle).

3) 24

4) First-year in the PhD program in comparative literature at UC Irvine (Blizzard's doorstep). Trying to use my background in (computer)games and computer science to tear down traditional structures of representation, literariness, consciousness, humanity, etc. What the hell am I thinking/doing.

5) Zero since January, though I still spend an unhealthy number of hours trolling various forums (hi!) and keeping up on game developments. Prior to that I had an overall average of 50 hours a week according to my /played, but factor in idling time and i'd kick it down to 40. (denial?)

6-7) I only ever played one character, my first and only. All of my alts were just banks.

8) Paladins can wear any non-class piece of armor and have situational uses for almost every single stat, and I am a tenacious minmaxer / pathetic packrat by nature. So my bank was bursting with rotting purplez.

1) I see the need for a penalty in some form. WoW with player-defined contention in the vein of UO or EVE would be an ungodly abomination of a game and some framework must always remain for key quest NPC and the like. That said, linking DKs to honor advancement is retarded. Find some other avenue of punishment.

3) I like the concept of a pally, though I quibble with so heavy a focus on purely reactive gameplay. The curve between an incompetent pally and a solid pally is just as steep as with any other class. The curve between a solid pally and a skilled pally is far, far less. This annoys me. 90% of non-engineering pally videos are boring, and 100% are predictable. Compared to, say, rogue videos, it is night and day. This has little to do with being a support class.

3) 20

4) Student at UCI (hi phyra). Odd jobs about town while training in classical history so I can further my destitution.

5) 30-40. Far less since I've taken up Oblivion modding.

6) 60 pally, 'lock, druid.

7) Not really.

8) Enough that it will shame me on my deathbed.

1) I'm more upset about the excessive anti-gank measures they put into neutral cities, really. That was what really broke it for me. If people wanted to be safe from PvP at all times, in all places, they should have damn well rolled on a crappy PvE server like the rest of the candy-asses.

Gadgetzan was originally Mos Eisley. You knew that you could sometimes walk in there without a fight, but other days, it might be full on war in that place. It was an exciting place to be, more often than not. Don't like rooftop campers? Get your squad together and knock em' off. Big deal. The Flightmasters were out of town...so you could usually decide whether or not you wanted to stay if you didn't want to get involved. (Though they botched the guards on those as horribly as they did in Kargath and a few other places.) That's the way neutral cities should have stayed, IMO. I never wanted to feel safe afk'ing in a neutral city. Neutral town guards in most settings generally don't give a crap about you unless you start wrecking the city, itself. I detest the way they plow over from halfway across the town to netgun the hell out of you for settling a beef you had with a perfect stranger to them. It's insipid.

The combination of neutral cities becoming relatively safe-havens, DK's, and crappy BG implementation ultimately brought me to complete apathy toward PvP in all fashions: "Screw it...there's little point to being on a PvP server anymore at all. They've completely neutered everything remotely fun about it."

I fondly remember random, honourable duels between myself and alliance folk when happening across each other in the wild. It was neat to run up on a group of 5 Alliance out questing and have them take you 1v1 in turns instead of just mowing you over, but it was also fun to get rolled sometimes and come back good and angry with a crew of your own. A lot of good times, back then. Virtually none since the anti-PvP measures went in.

The only fond memory I have since battlegrounds is a single evening of about 3 Warsong Gulch rounds in which it was all EJ and the alliance actually stayed to fight us. Rolling around with Moz and Raylen that evening was as close to "right" as BG's could ever feel. Unfortunately, it also seemed to be a one shot deal, thanks to /afk and impossible queues.

Random world PvP, to me, is what a PvP oriented server is all about. I never needed battlegrounds. If a battleground was something I could enter at any hour of the day with the people I wished to have on my team and with zero waiting, perhaps I would feel differently. I've seen the inside of AV exactly twice since it came out. One ended the moment I joined, the other lasted 11 minutes before all the alliance left and it closed on us. Both of those queue times were over 2 hours.

I played AB a few times. Mostly, I got stuck with maybe 3-5 of my mates and a crapload of pubbies who didn't want to play as a team in any sense. What fun is that? I didn't roll PvP so I could ask someone's permission to kill them or wait for them to be ready in a queue. If I wanted that, I'd be on the happy friendly servers where I could tool around in STV on an alt, waving at the opposing faction in complete safety.

On my various characters before BG's and DK's, I could be frequently seen in cities, gank squads, or SS/TM wars. I enjoyed myself a great deal in those times. I'm now a scout rank that only ever bothers someone that picks a fight with me. I don't even gank people these days when given prime opportunities. They sterilized the world, so I don't even care anymore, I just raid and farm. They completely removed any incentive to kill other players for those who can't spend hours of their day in BG queues or BG's with crappy PUG's.

In the past, at least PvP was occasionally fun and with only minimal BS you had to wade through to get to it. DK's + BG's actively murdered virtually everything that was ever fun about WoW PvP, to me.

2) Has been answered.

3) I've played this class happily since beta. It's what I wanted to be, for this game. I'm quite pleased with it in spite of the relative "bastard child" mentality with which we've been treated on frequent occasions. I was a MT, ranged/melee DPS, and prime healer in past games of this sort, so 'utility/dps caster' was pretty much destined to be where I'd slot in for this one.

3...again) Today is my birthday. I am 2. It says so right on the front page.

5) I work in banking for a Fortune 500 company. I love the job. I hate both the company and the people I work for. If someone offered me a job with comperable pay at a company with actual HR and intelligent management, I would very likely be gone without a second thought. Unfortunately, I can't see any places that could pay me what I get here for the same type of work. Figures.

6) Several hours, some weeks. As little as 8-10 on others.

7) 2 I play as fulltime mains. Warlock and Priest. 3 more I play less frequently, including a Mage, Rogue, and Shaman.

8) Multiple inactive alts of various class and level spread across a couple servers. What many would consider my "alt" is a 2nd raiding main, really. I have a true rogue alt I'm bringing up for kicks and tradeskill assistance, when I don't feel like doing anything serious and have time to kill.

9) 35+ across my "main" characters, probably. Dunno about alts. I never really paid much attention, so long as it was an upgrade.
