Hi,
looking for advice from some Elitist Jerks - think I'm in the right place :D
I have been wondering how good the Might of Cenarius is for Combat Dagger Rogues.
Adding +4 base damage to both daggers sounds quite appealing. Does anyone have any data/experience on how well it stacks up against other rings in game?
I am currently using Master Dragon Slayer's Ring and Ring of Fury
Also, its only a matter of days before I get Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight
Hope someone has some useful info

I think Kalman can probably provide a little more insight as to what you should use as that +4 is similar to the +5 damage weapon enchant that he has rated so high on his wonderful spreadsheet, I think. Personally, I'd stick with what you have already.

I was told that the dagger doesn't add +4 weapon dmg but just adds +4 dmg to the attack after all the other calculations have been put in.

Hmm,
I find that hard to believe - the Ring would not be worthy of its Epic status if true.
Everything I have read so far points to the fact it adds +4 dmg to all weapons - that is Main Hand, Off Hand and Gun/Bow/Xbow before any calculations.

The way I understand it, a dagger rogue would get the most out of this ring, and the equivalent AP would be nuts, like 70 or so. Depends on your weapon speeds of course - the faster, the better (in this lonely isolated circumstance).

This is encouraging and exactly what I wanted to hear. Think I will try and grab it this weekend and do some testing of my own.
+4 Might of Cenarius
+5 Superior Striking
+8 dense sharpening
= +18 on Mainhand which is pretty wild
I currently use BQP in main hand and DFB in offhand with +5dmg and +15agi enchants on them respectively.
Looks like I got myself a project

Master Dragonslayer's Ring:
42AP == 3DPS
3DPS * 1.7 AP modifier = 5.1 damage.
Ring of Fury == 2.14DPS
2.14 * 1.7 = 3.7 damage.
4 Damage / 1.8 speed = 2.22 DPS
4 Damage / 1.7 speed = 2.35 DPS
Since the offhand modifier is applied equally to the offhand with all weapons, it essentially depends on the speed of your offhand about which is substantially better.
WoC w/ 1.4 offhand = 2.9 DPS
WoC w/ 1.6 offhand = 2.5 DPS
Essentially what it comes down to is that you can replace your Ring of Fury with the Wrath of Cenarius, but not your Master Dragonslayer's Ring.

Dont waste your time on the quests. Grab Signent ring or wait for a Qiraj fury/QS ring. If you are into the quests already I would grab Earthstrike.

You realize, of course, that you have to do the quest with Might of Cenarius as a reward to get Earthstrike, right?

master dragon slayer is 48ap so wouldn't it be 48/14 making it roughly 3.43 dps then multiply by 1.7 = 5.83 damage

How do you figure? AFAIK Stalwart's Battlegear isn't a prereq quest to Champion's Battlegear.

Whoops, yeah, not sure why I thought it was 42. Anyway, that just makes it even more clear, you can definitely not replace the MDR for the Might of Cenarius, but you *can* replace the Ring of Fury. Honestly, though, the Signet Ring is better than the MoC, especially at higher levels of reputation.

No, I just meant that I had thought it was a linear chain, where each "Battlegear" quest gave the mark required for the next quest in the line. Apparently, looking at the quests again, I was mistaken.

MoC is a low-level epic (62) and balanced as such. If you're a dagger rogue with a blue ring, it's worth checking out. If you have other epic rings, then no.

Only for rogues using the fastest of daggers in my opinion (and theres very few of them around although thats due to what else is currently available). Personally i used the set from Zul'Gurub until i got access to the one off of Nefarious (name leaves me, stats are roughly 28 stamina and 14 agility) and the Nozdormu reputation reward.
If you're guild frequents Zul'Gurub or the realm itself has numerous PuG raids going through the instance i would aim for those, also because you might be able to upgrade from Blackrock Spire/Stratholme weaponry fairly easily allowing for greater white damage.

Yes, that ring is very good for feral druids, being equal to 56 AP. In fact, if you don't give a shit about 60 HP, it's better than master dragonslayer.

yeah, it's nutty for catform. i have all the badges done for both might and earthstrike, and i'm waiting for 1.11 when they fix the requirements for the quests. i still need a stitching and a skin of shadow for my mark of remulos, though, because i'm too big of a snob to pug those instances :-P
