Ill have to try out SW Stats and compare. I just find Damage Meters highly overrated from a healing standpoint due to its inability to figure out "TRUE" effective healing.
Which is why SW Stats is so superior. It calculates Total Healing, Overhealing, and Effective Healing (the difference between the first two). And it is superior to Recap because SW Stats can be sync'd in the same way Damage Meter is, so you get a more complete picture of what was going on. Not to mention all the other cool little things it calculates, but you will just have to download the app and play with it to find them. :P

ah so santa was eaten by Ouro who regurugitates his long lost sombrero on death.

That has to be the best drop in the instance (bearing in mind current table knowledge), not including weapons.

Although the fact the shiled has 3065 armour is also scary for a protection paladin....

I'm trying for the full +heal non-set (a big reason is I enjoy PvPing and the non set stuff is mostly superior to trans). I just wish the Robes of the Guardian Saint didn't make me look so stupid. I'm sure with a name like "Don Rigoberto's Lost Hat", once we kill Ouro and it drops I will only enchance how ridiculous my character looks.
I'm considering sticking with Truefaith over Guardian Saint. The thought of getting a bit more int doesn't really excite me, and survivability-wise they're about equal. The slight increase in mana regen would be nice, but not really worth looking stupid for.

I do have to admit that the robes look plain silly. Teal just isnt my color.

What hat ?
This one.
I'm def. going to be wearing that over trans.

BACK TO ZG I GO.

My current gear allows me 5/8 trans, and when I get the trans belt I'm going to switch out proph belt for trans belt on 4+ mob trash.

On bossfights I'll probably still use proph belt + Gloves of the messiah.

The reasoning? There are already 4 priests in the guild with 8/8 transcendance, meaning that I'll almost never make use of, and hurt their use of, the 8/8 bonus.

The 5/8 bonus is only good on 4+ trash pulls, because our lazy tanks often don't catch all the mobs before I start dropping phat heals, and the reactive fade saves me.

I will never wear transcendance boots over my boots of pure thought, and I don't think I'll ever wear transcendance robes over my robes of the guardian saint. The stats on the pure thought and guardian saint are just that much better for raiding, espcially as the priest that is down the pipe a bit for loot.

8/8 is fucking amazing, but not if everyone has it. Being one of the priests that still breaks high on the +healing (706 base + 10% Spiritual Healing + 88.6healing from Spiritual Guildance = 865+healing) means that I can use the most mana efficient heals a priest has (Heal rank3, renew rank 10) and be fine on mana for the duration.

Effective Healing is a complete bullshit stat. If you and I have similar gear and spam our heals on a tank, pure chance can decide which of us gets the highest effective healing.

The priest community lives in the illusion that overhealing is a bad thing. A healer that can sustain a full spam of Heal Rank x/GHeal Rank 1 on a tank will overheal like hell, but he will make that tank safer against spikes than any other sustainable healing style (assuming he has the brains to flash when expecting a spike in 1.5 seconds or when the tank is low at the start of the cast).

People that use unspammable but faster heal spells end up cancelling their casts 0.5 seconds before it hits if the tank is at full hp (factoring in human reaction time and lag). If your healers all use this technique, you will have a minimum 0.5 second delay after every damage spike before a heal lands. With slower, spammable heals, the average remaining cast time per healer will be higher, but the ability to mitigate spikes will be far better due to the lack of such a delay.

Remember that overhealing is only a bad thing in two situations:
- When you run out of mana because you spammed too much.
- When another person needed a heal more.

Combine that with the knowledge that 99% of avoidable tank deaths are caused by spike damage, and it will be quite clear that the most efficient tank healing method is the one that allows you to spam for the duration of the fight, leaving some headroom to be able to handle unforseen consequences and fast heal requirements. (This assumes that the average remaining heal time for the group of healers on that tank does not significantly exceed 0.5 seconds, which roughly means that you have a minimum of 5 healers doing 2.5 or shorter casts)

Flash Heal is for when the tank needs a heal right now, for healing low hp characters, and for times when mana efficiency is a non-issue. I still cast it a lot, but it really shouldn't be anyone's main heal anymore.

No, but with mindless spam you're up to 75% chance (well, 73.7%) of having a heal less than 0.5 seconds away.

3 2.5sec spammers gets you to a 50% chance, but I made it 5 to increase the reliability.
