So I've noticed that a lot of you top tier guilds are able to come up with tons of flasks and various other expensive potions at the drop of a hat. Does your guild bank finance this or do all your players farm for their own stuff individually? If it's the former, what are some major sources of your bank's income?

Thanks in advance for any information/tips you're able to provide.

I used to have a huge image here, but then it got removed and now I\'ve developed chronic depression and suicidal tendencies. /wrists

A 2hr MC clear can yield easily 6000 gold worth of materials.

You can also offer to sell MC BoP epics to folks by bringing them along to your MC clears.

Most of our income comes from selling MC BoE gear, which is still rather profitable on my server. I don't know how this would work out on a more established server though.
We also sell Nexus Shards once we've gathered too many of them, which is easy during a normal MC/BWL run now.
Apart from that we also feed the guildbank with spare coins/books/etc. from ZG/AQ20, which also seems to sell well to some degree.
The majority of our potions are gathered by ourself though. Some people fishes, others gather herbs.

We've pondered about letting people join Onyxia/MC/BWL runs for money though, but it just seems like more hassle than it's worth.
Maybe someone else got experience with this?

Is there a trick to clearing all of MC in 2 hours? My guild (who is fairly well geared from BWL, and been doing MC for a very long time now) can't get it under around 4 hours. Is there some tricks we're missing? Or is it just that we need to do double the raid DPS to get it down to 2?

If you're "fairly well-geared from BWL" 4 hours is pretty slow. I'd say 3hr is typical with BWL gear, approaching 2hr as you start to really be fully BWL/AQ-geared, with the potential to go lower if you really rush.

Basically, are you ever not killing something? If so, you're wasting time. But you can find a ton of posts on this topic if you search a few months back on these boards -- it comes up from time to time, and we have our resident expert from the Axemen onhand to assist. :)

I'm assuming this includes...

Nexus Crystals
Gold from bosses
Sulfuron Ingots
Dark Iron Ore

What else?

Yea, we basically always have something in camp dying. I would guess that it's a case of many people going afk between bosses to watch tv or something. I'll take a look for old posts - thanks!

Er, ~15 Cores and 4-5 BoEs. We don't sell ore or Nexus crystals, and gold from bosses and other stuff like that goes to the guild bank.

160ish each. 160 * 15 = 2400

5 BoEs probably average 700 each (some go for 500ish, desired ones like Might go for 1k+)

That's 6k right there.

Plus there's Dreamscales, Elementium Ore, and, yes, Sulfuron Ingots.

Our guild bank used to be pitiful ... when 12p disbanded and I saw that they had a 35k guild bank at the time, I decided to make ours less pitiful. It took about 3-4 weeks to reach that goal.

Do you guys loot gold from instances like AQ and BWL for the guild bank, too?

No. That'd be unwieldy as hell considering it gets split when you loot it. It just goes into individual pockets to cover repair costs and such; in the case of AQ gold, it pays for the cost of the fight down to Silithus.

My guild with only MC gear/experience clears everything to Rags in 3.5-4 hours. We got this way by having a hard limit of 6 hours to the raid, cutting off at that point no matter what. We went from Gehennas in 6 hours to Golemag in 4 over the course of 8 weeks. Finally got Rags on Friday, so we're pretty happy.

The trick to getting your raid through MC in a decent time, is to make sure that the people who don't need to be there are there. My guild uses MC as an opportunity to train/gear up the newer members, so we expect the run to take a while. We just send in a few experienced and let the new kids see the core the way it was meant to be: A long drawn out red menace that drills holes in the bowels of your soul.

That being said, it's not profitable in a monetary sense, but it's profitable in that the newer members will become more skilled and geared and thus more valuable to us in the future.

Speed runs are good for a quick buck, but if you've got some inexperienced players, MC is a really great "Raiding 101" instance.

Even though it's not as profitable as it used to be, you can sell the blues of Ragnaros, Onyxia, and green dragons for a little bit here or there. Even if one blue pays for one flask, you're still getting at least 4 a week (and probably up to 10 or more if you get all the dragons). Although, Relwin's told me about Flaskman of Mal'ganis. Here we are on Kel making flasks for 35-40g in mats. I made them for less than 25g in mats pre-1.10.

edit: If your guild is overflowing with elementium (ha), try putting a piece at a time on the AH for say, 600g starting bid, and no buyout. I'm trying to finish the AQ scepter quests and I've paid up to 600 for a single piece (I have 4 so far). As time goes on, I'm getting more and more desperate as more and more people do the questline and there is less elementium floating around. Those four pieces have taken me more than two months to collect and I would pay dearly to be done with this.

600 for a single piece, huh? Interesting. We have like 100, but I'm paranoid they'll implement some important new use for it in 1.11.

You could sell me Thick Obsidian Shards imo.

Edit- How often do they drop in AQ40? I'm assuming those things rain from the sky there.

Extra books from aq 20 sell fast. Even the worthless ones like starfire sold for 1k+ right as the zone came out, not sure what everything goes for nowadays but the good stuff sells for crazy amounts.

We get more elementium per BWL clear, by far. We probably average something like 3 Large shards per clear. It's annoying, though I'm not a huge fan of any of the items you can make with them. Gloves are nice I suppose.

I hear you won't let anyone have elementium needed for their scepter line quests

Also where is my pvp date

Just wow. Talk about differing economies.

Cores go for maybe 120 each on our server.

A highly desirable BoE will go for 800. Cenarion, well the last 2 that sold went for 230 each, and I've seen the "speculator" who bought them still trying to sell them 4 weeks later.
