Hmm, interesting. Sounds like you have a glut of post-BWL guilds, such that the market is flooded with BoEs/cores, demand for those items is low, while demand for high-end raiding consumables (which are pretty much never used by raiding guilds until they hit Broodlord and beyond) is excessive.

it comes up from time to time, and we have our resident expert from the Axemen onhand to assist. :)
*grin*
To be honest, we rarely clear MC under 3 hours, because we're close to 50% alts these days, and people don't focus at all. Still, there are three things that really slow your raid down:
1. Breaks, both AFK ones and drinking ones. If you're reasonably well geared, you don't need 100% raidmana on any pull in MC, Domo/Ragna excluded. Keep pulling, and people will get used to drinking asap whenever there's an opening. You should never have to spend more than 20 seconds out of combat, unless you're distributing targets or something. Noone should have to go AFK in a 2 hour MC run, and if they do, the other 39 will do just fine without them.
2. Loot distribution. Both our record runs were done with group loot, to reduce the time spent on loot. Of course I don't recommend doing this for normal MC runs, but you can save a lot of time by forcing people to be prepared and bid/opt in quickly. Don't give people 3 minutes to check DKP standings during the run, spend ~30-60 seconds on each item.
3. Wipes. Duh. Wiping instantly adds 5+ minutes to your run, so make sure you are prepared to pull out the potions to force an encounter down even if it looks bad.
So yeah, keep pulling, don't wipe, and don't waste time on loot distribution. If you're really trying to push it, use more consumables, less alts, and drop target distribution. Being able to pull core hound packs and Garr without wasting a second on distributing targets is nice. Oh yeah, and AoE sulfuron's adds.

I hear you won't let anyone have elementium needed for their scepter line quests
Also where is my pvp date
Well, with C'thun/Ouro drops as they are, why bother? You don't get the mount anymore, and you don't need Elementium for the quests before hand. I don't think a single one of the ultimate quest rewards is all that worthwhile, given the cost and the fact that there are better drops in AQ.

Our guild bank usually has no shortage of gold, since we were able to sell most of our BOE's on Archimonde in a rather inflated economy. Since we moved to Mug'thol however, the number of successful raiding guilds is staggering. MC BOE's sell for far fewer than they used to, so we've had to search for other ways to fund our material costs.
Not sure if anyone here has tried it, but we decided on starting a contest of sorts. We ran an AQ opening contest on both Archimonde and Mug'thol, so putting this one together wasn't very difficult. Basically people just send herbs to a few of our characters and are rewarded points for doing so. At the end of the week the person with the most (or top few people, unsure currently) will attend one of our BWL clears and can more or less loot any item that isn't particularly rare.
We only recently started this contest, so if anyone is interested in knowing how it goes for the first week I can always post again later. We're hoping it bolsters our supply of mats and gold, we'll see how it turns out.

Do you guys loot gold from instances like AQ and BWL for the guild bank, too?
No. That'd be unwieldy as hell considering it gets split when you loot it. It just goes into individual pockets to cover repair costs and such; in the case of AQ gold, it pays for the cost of the fight down to Silithus.
When the ML drops from the raid he can loot the full amount of gold in his own pocket before being reinvited.
We do it that way and in turn all raid consumables are sponsored by the guildbank. As a member it is very convenient (as long as you can afford your own repaircosts you don't need to farm anything) but unfortunately it's quite some extra work for our officers.

ML
Herein lies the critical difference. We usually run with FFA, both because the Group loot display is annoying and Master Looter has a wonderful history of being bugged and horrible.
edit: thus, most cash from bosses ends up going towards everyone's personal funds, for more trivial (yet still important) things as repairs and minor buff items. Major funds are gained in the manners which have already been described.

Of course, people can just ninja the gold away if they get the loot.

someone allready posted the master looter leaves group thing.
edit: 110g for a righteous orb  Got five of them this weekend and hopefully I can get rid of them for 45g each.

edit: If your guild is overflowing with elementium (ha), try putting a piece at a time on the AH for say, 600g starting bid, and no buyout. I'm trying to finish the AQ scepter quests and I've paid up to 600 for a single piece (I have 4 so far)
600 for a single piece, huh? Interesting. We have like 100, but I'm paranoid they'll implement some important new use for it in 1.11.
Really though, try putting up a single piece or advertising in trade. If you have over 100, selling one piece for something like 800 or 1000g is an insane amount of gold at little cost to you.
Just to profile our server a bit, there are 3 alliance guilds post-Emps, maybe 8 alliance post-Nef. Probably an equal amount horde side, and all of my contacts for BWL guilds have had none for me.
Just wait a few weeks til I need piece number 10 and end up paying 1000g...
On a side note, now's the time to sell a few, before more guilds start taking out C'Thun and realizing that they can bypass Fang for that insane healing mace.

Righteous are ~65-85, cores are 250-350, tier 1 bracers start at 500 and range to 1000 for the good ones. AQ books, you can pick up a Deadly Poison for 250, but last Feint book I saw on the AH was at 1000 and didn't last long.

The biggest difference I've seen was when I was looking for black diamonds. I said to a friend from Surreal on Alleria..
Me "I wish black diamond prices weren't so crazy.."
Him "Why? Have a ton you want to sell for more then 20s?"
Me "What no, have some I want to buy for less then 60g"
Him "Serious..? I just deleted a stack of them to make inventory space"

He probably got confused between those and Pristine Black Diamonds. I can't see regular BDs going for 20s on ANY server.

QFT. Black Diamonds go for 30-45g on my server where the Pristine ones are vendor trash. "PDB dropped, who wants it?" "I don't care, I'd rather take the grey that dropped since it vendors for more, thanks."

He's been saying the same thing about Onyxia Scales for over a year now.

Nah, he was talking normal Black Diamonds, granted it was a few weeks ago, and I'm not sure whether that server has the subtlety enchant yet or not.
