Now when that hits, you'll have to go from 300 Resistance to 400...
I have to ask - does anyone else get the feeling there's going to be a new tier of loot? If we're getting ilvl epics of 100+ from Naxxramas, then either they havn't thought about the itemisation for the level cap increase (unlikely) or item power will be scaled back (pointless). The only alternative to keep itemlevels (and tiers) is making epics the norm from 5mans and the new level (lets call it Bajingo quality) the 40 man norm.
|
Or just have a mysterious jump in loot quality as new players pass through level 60. :-P
The issues with multiple resists will be cleared up a bit if they allow them to stack a bit more efficiently on gear. Multiple resists don't work well for the reason that multiple +damage schools don't work--they get penalized just as strongly as having, say Int and Stam on the same item (this is the reason why items like Elemental Mage staff suck so much).

Didn't see anyone else post this so:
Breastplate of the Fearless
1024Armor
44stam
21str
+14def
1% hit
1% dodge
|
Going with the item balancer spreadsheet, this appears to be approximately ilvl 92. The craftable frost resist chest pieces are about ilvl 79.

I don't know, I like the Mage shoulders. Then again, I like the Netherwind shoulders, too. Now instead of glowy balls on my shoulders, I'll get to have glowy crystals.
CRYSTALS
Still haven't seen an image for the Legendary Staff, though :( Can anyone mirror it?

Word on the street is the staff is going to be what TF was suppose to be ->
A staff choice for Mages/Warlocks/Priest.
Instead of a sword that makes you "WTF IS THIS DOING ON A HUNTER//PALLY ??? WHY WERE WE SO STUPID >_<"

Ok, this thread has gone on long enough. Time to turn it into a druid discussion. Not a staff of choice for a Druid?

Wowguru points out that the staff pic shown on whataboutpp that the human female is holding bears a striking resemblance to the staff that Medivh is holding in one of his concept art shots.

Thank you for sharing.

Aedak posted the set bonuses for the new warrior armor (always speculative till its seen). If they are true though, it would proved some more ways of mitagating damage (something gurgthok mentioned in another thread).
Fearless Set Bonuses:
3 piece: Decreases the cooldown of your mocking blow and challenging shout abilities by 60 seconds.
5 piece: Chance on hit, increases your hitpoints and armor by 500, and increases frost/shadow resistance of all party members by 25 for 15 seconds. The resistance effect stacks up to 4 times.
8 piece: 20% chance after being struck by a Crushing Blow, your next 3 attacks will be guaranteed to land and decrease your opponent's dodge and parry rates by 5% for 10 seconds.
EDIT: I can't type today.

I'm very skeptical of this. There have been a lot of complete bullshit "set bonus lists" floating around recently.

Would you really wish for a stats/healing/mana-regen based legendary healing staff? I would prefer something unique - a beneficial proc. Sort of a TF for healers. "On successfully casting a healing spell has a chance of increasing the effect of any heal spells on the target by 5%." Or whatever - not to get into a lot of pointless speculation on the actual effect, just that I would prefer something that was not a single-target boost but a broad, raid-based effect. You could have a similar proc for dps casters that increased all spell damage on the target by a similarly small percentage.
