PvP prot?

Impale, TM, Imp OP, Shield Slam

Not sure how well it would work considering the difficulty in having a decent crit rate + high block value, but it was an idea.

With tanking gear, impale is very weak, and is deep wounds.

Imp Overpower is always nice to have.

Every now and then, though, Shield Slam will crit and cause someone to cry themselves to sleep about getting wrecked by a Prot Warrior - and that's what's really important, isn't it?

Along those lines: prot pvp gear?

I guess. Impale is only on special ability crits and on the crit damage itself, so when your slam crits for 800, you get 400+ 400 * 1.2 = 880.

Not viable, but I guess it would be good for a staged screenshot (Do a slam on a low armor target with lots of shield block gear and crit gear in other slots, with Mongroose, Songflower buff, etc.).

The best general mitigation talent is parry in the arm tree. It pretty much beat anything from the prot tree excep maybe improved block. Not taking it while trying to have a protection built seem really stupid to me.

I'm thinking something like this would be pretty damn sweet for a PvP prot kinda build/equip.

Sadly, the equipment requirements are pretty much pie in the sky and the spec itself would be about as rubbish for tanking as a 31 Prot spec could be. And on top of that, I don't think it would be as much use as just running out with a Might of Menethil and smashing people around the face and neck until they had to go for a lie down.

It would be a whole bunch of fun mind.

If you wanted to try and PvP as Prot, I would probably go with something along the lines of this: http://curse-gaming.com/en/wow/talen...030002151.html

Of course that doesn't have defiance, pretty much the main reason to go prot, you could always substitute points from toughness/iron will/imp sunder to put in defiance. A warrior specced like this would be great to have in wsg/ab. They could keep a target stunned for a bit, shield bash a mage that's nuking/healer that's healing, and they could take one hell of a beating from a melee opponent.

Don't drink downstream from the horde. Moo!
