been wondering this for a while....

most people say using resistance gear in pvp is kind of useless, but i've been wondering for a while how viable it would be for a druid to put together a set that perfectly balances out armor/resistances/sta/healing. i rather enjoy healing in BGs and had quite some success in the past with wearing non-gimp FR to piss off the fire mages. now was thinking of taking this one step further, focusing also on armor, etc, to maximize healing but also survivability if getting hammered on in bear by that ashkandi warrior.

so... stupid idea or not ? wearing pure elementium band and the noz tank ring.. thick silithid chestguard for sta, armor and resistances... hammer of bestial fury and sartura offhand.... hive tunneler boots for extra sta and AC... amulet of shadow shielding for SR and sta... lava belt (maybe.. dunno about this one) for AC, sta and FR.. etc.etc.

should i just give up on that idea ? or does anyone have a dream configuration for that ?

Keep in mind my main is a mage and my alt is a rogue, I know jack shit about really optimal sets but here is what I put together before bed.

Crazy resist option here - http://ctprofiles.net/1029762

I originally though when I put this set together that I’d be creating a monster that would see the end of all mage-kind but in reality it would probably suck balls fighting you as a fire mage but for me (frost mage) it wouldn’t be that hard. It actually sort of serves to remind me of why chromic resist (at least at our current ilevel, wait till we have 25+ to all rings) is just a gimmick that wouldn’t really find too much use in practice. I’m sure Graham or Kaubel can make a much better optimal set to come closer to what you’re looking for in the long run, but hey I just figured I’d make up my own for kicks.

I know from personal history and experience the hardest Druids for me to take down are the ones that are smart enough to not let me get inside spell range or close the gap on my AE’s and CS. The ones that max there range on spells then quickly move back out to get outside range of my second frostbolt and heal while I readjust and start a new cast annoy me to no end. It’s the same for healers, the ones that stay within range of their heal-bot target while still keeping themselves out of my range just makes them such a harder target to interrupt.

i keep thinking of something like this http://ctprofiles.net/1030341
eventually replace the gloves for stormrage gloves for the extra shadow resist, but the drakes havent been too nice to us droods.

overall though i keep wondering if its worth to sacrifice base int and heal for more sta, ac and res or if i should just stick to token raid heal gear..

Some key items I'd note : Smoking Blood of the Mountain, Seal of the Archmagus, Dragon's Blade cape. There's probably lots of stuff I'm forgetting. Staff of the Qiraji prophets is a good idea, though. Those are some serious resists there.

Also for whatever situation, the druid ZG enchant is second to only one enchant, and should never if possible be given up.

This kinda makes me think on how tough you could make a priest to kill in pvp.

you're the one that decided to trust me

For extra fun, pick up engineering, least of all for the reflectors. They also have a hefty bit of resist on them and a short cooldown.

Much better off with a Smoking Heart in that slot, or the previously mentioned reflectors. The Blood Talisman has pretty low utility for a druid.
