So anyone like me doubtlessly scratched their heads when they looted totem of life.

It was obviously better than nothing in this slot, but the level 50 blue from brd applied +30 to 3 spells (on par with weapon spell power enchant) and this lvl 70 purple from AQ40 gave LESS benefit than the weapon healing enchant to only 1 spell which received the minimum possible effect from the bonus.

It was so obvious to me that this item was 'broken', from an item value standpoint, that it was being given out for free to shaman in the raid because we all knew it would likely be replaced by a blue down the road.

Well thankfully they seem to have realized how absurd that item was when I noticed this from the PTR data mining on curse gaming...

Now it is plus 80 to lesser healing wave and seems to finally be worthy of a loot spot on fankriss (not that rogues and hunters woudl agree hehe)
