Do everyone here think it's better to have ONE solid MT and one SOLID OT, or to have them switch encounters every week etc.

I believe that it's better to have one MT and one OF, simply because, as a healer, I think it's much easier to healing our MT, then healing out OT, and when they switch encounters, every week par-say, it's frusterating. When I play my priest, I know how the MT is going to play, I know he drinks potions, healthstones, uses LS/LFG when shit his the fan, I just know how he plays, and after a while, know the normal amount of damage he takes (He's in full wrath, bawark, quel, SES, and other awesome items.) I basically know how he takes damage, and when i should start heals at certain times in fights (proactive healing ftw)

Do you think it's greedy that I want one MT and one OT all the time?

Do you think it's better if we rotate every week, or just have the OT fill in when the MT isn't here.

The MT and OT are both great tanks, it's really just a matter of gear, and playstyle right now.

I'm probably babbling, but does EJ and other guild have ONE mt, and the rest OTs?

(becuase in BWL you need more then 1 tank :P)

Thanks for the help guys

im personally a fan of gradually cycling warriors through the different tasks. nothing worse than basically having to relearn vaelestraz cause your usual first and second tanks cant make it, and the others have no clue what to do.

you should gear up as many tanks as possible if they're willing to go it, it never hurts and in certain fights having a number of geared tanks just plain helps.

Fankriss? for example ^^

We have seven different warriors who have MT'd BWL clears. When we're first learning content, I like to keep the roles static to keep things smooth as everyone continues to master the fight on subsequent kills. Once it's pure farm mode, we'll change things up a fair bit, gear permitting, and let everyone have a chance to perform various key functions in most fights. It can be a bit bumpy as new people learn, but everyone's better off in the long run when farming runs can go quickly and cleanly no matter who's filling which role.

Relying on 1 MT and 1 OT is the surest way to kill a guild.

Learning - yes, use the best you have and don't switch it up. But as soon as its even close to farm mode - throw people around - force people to learn, its the only way you'll survive people taking 'breaks' and quitting/deguilding.

I wouldn't want to have less than 5 warriors who knew what they were doing, honestly. Relying on 1 or 2 people is always a bad idea because you will struggle if it happens that these two miss a raid, and it will happen eventually. Most classes can be filled but warriors with experience certainly cannot, I'd always rather have too many warriors than not enough.

Warriors coincidentally stack in raids great, and with Conquerer's can actually (sub-optimally of course) fulfill two roles - DPS and some tanking with the flick of a Sword/Board macro! 31/20 tanks raid just fine, and while it may be dangerous to have them tank certain encounters (emps, etc.) - we've had a MT go down at 20%~ and a DPS war shieldwalled and picked it up long enough for us to CR the MT.

We have 1 MT who we focus on using for learning content, and then 3-4 other warriors who are geared/specced to tank capably. Then we have our DPS warrior trio (2x fury, 1x MS now, I think, none of them using a hybrid prot build), all of whom are smart enough to pick up tanking gear as well, and tank capably when needed. We've used them as MTs on random occasions when our tanks just weren't around.

But yes; you'll almost certainly have one tank who falls into the role of "MT" more often than others, especially while learning, but you're hurting yourself if you don't gear up several tanks, and give experience to several tanks, such that any of them can MT an encounter.

Clearly law school has done wonders for me.

This is preety much what I meant..

All of our tanks are getting tank gear and dps gear, yeah, i was just speaking about learning new encounters, but once they are on farm status sure, putting other tanks in is great :)

Thanks
