Does anyone have realtive hate vaules for these two skills after being improved by talents? I am in the midst of figuring out my new spec, but it would be made alot easier if I could compare improved shield bash to heroic strike/ sunder in terms of hate per rage without spending 50g.
I generally do Heroic strike/ revenge with shield block, and sunder whenever I have the extra rage. If improved shield bash can generate more threat than a sunder it will make it into my aggro aresenal for sure.
Improved Revenge can Stun your target, many are immune, if there is any threat added to the stun it is marginal.
Improved Shield Bash Silences your target, again many are immune, and any threat added is marginal.
I have never heard of a Warrior with Imp Shield Bash, but a few had Imp Revenge when tanking 5-mans.
Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'
I believe Revenge Stun is worth 25 threat (on the 1 threat = 1 damage scale), or roughly 1/10th of a Sunder.

I've been some variant of deep protection for a while, and I have never spec'd Improved Revenge. Seems like a waste of talent points imo unless you are exclusively doing 5-mans and such or actually trying to spec Prot for PVP :o.
I loved improved revenge when I did 5 mans. It went off so often.
It competes with too many talents that are better choices for raiding though, and the stun debuff provides very little threat, and I don't know if its known whether or not it applies extra threat if the target is immune to stun.
Back when I was doing 5mans with my war I tried a number of specs - some including improved revenge and some including mace-spec and a timeworn mace tank weapon.
Both of these I absolutely *hated* for tanking. When a mace spec stun goes off, or an imp revenge stun proc, the mob stops hitting you. Not hitting you means you get no rage. No rage means poorer threat generation.
My ability to produce hate improved noticably when I specced out of stun procs.
If you want stuns, get concussion blow - it is vastly better just because you can control when it goes off.
