My holidays are coming up and I intend to roll a warrior to eat up some spare time and have a go at endgame tanking.

What build/style would be the best for the fastest leveling? I have only played caster classes before so I am unfamiliar with the leveling technique and build of leveling a melee class (such as needing to upgrade and train weapons.... ugh)

I heard a Fury Dw build is good for leveling? Is it? Pros and cons vs Arms?

Suggestions are welcome.

I dont play much of a warrior.

Dual Wield and Arms are about the same in leveling (assuming simlar weapons), Warrior's dps really is affected by their weapon.

I would go 2 Handers, because it is only 1 weapon to worry about. There is a level 30 or 40 Warrior quest with a nice one.

Keep first aid maxed to limit downtime, and it helps to twink your warrior (have 2H or 1H weapons already bought from the AH so you can kill faster).

Grinding is the best way I have found to level.

Keep bandages on you and bandage whenever necessary. I barely have to eat while levelling my warrior.

If you're grinding, try to grind on mobs 2-4 levels lower than you for the best exp rates.

I personally am going DW Fury on my Warrior for levelling. No Tactical Mastery is a bitch, but Flurry and Bloodthirst are both dreamy for grinding. Death Wish is nice too.

I think bloodcraze is decent for grinding as well(!) You get critted a fair amount while grinding, and the heal is worth a lot compared to mob damage. Plus, tier 3
fury is rather weak, so you don't give up a huge amount. I'm up to 45 on a new pvp server without a guild, and 1h fury has been reasonable. Stash away some money for weapons. I guess arms has the disadvantage that you switch weapons a lot while leveling, so you might grab the wrong talent.

On a pvp realm without guild support I think arms is safer, life without tactical mastery can easily get you killed a lot. I'm grinding in zerk stance mostly, using bezerker rage as it comes
up for the free rage. You can grab the whirlwind axe at 30, but you really need a lot of support.

1 year old twins means no WoW for me. But you just wait, as soon as they get a little older it will be my own stable of gold farmers.

I took Blood Craze and Piercing Howl in tier 3 fury and love them both. Piercing Howl has saved my life many a time.

It's not that hard to defend yourself without TM. If you know there's a good chance of you getting ganked, just save Death Wish and Bloodrage. With the generally low player skill of people with <level 50 characters, I find you can generally just bloodrage->intercept->hamstring->Death Wish->kill pretty much anything that comes my way. Oh, and the extra fear break is great too.

If I get a drought of good 1h weapons, I'll just use a 2h for a while. I used Ravager up until I got my Vanquisher's Sword + Sword of Serenity combo, and still keep it for Retaliation.

There's some good levelling guides here- http://www.wow-pro.com/Knowledge_Base/cat=125.html

The horde reward from their equivalent of the sword of serenity quest is the Sword of Omen and is even better for warriors. I used Sword of Omen + Vanquisher's sword well into my 50s. At which point get Thrash Blade from the Maraudon quest, it's pretty good as a start off tanking weapon and should keep you going til you get the chance to pick up something better from UBRS etc.

<Fric> I think the only kind of gay buttsex I'd enjoy on any level would be assraping a smug hipster douchebag (also possibly a roid head and/or fratboy/Jersey Shore cast member)
<Zyla> If there's gonna be a dick in the room besides my own, i'd rather it have to be my brother's. You know that kinda sounds bad all typed out like that,

If you are experienced and interested in speed leveling, especially as Horde, questing is a lot faster than grinding. At least until level 40 warriors have too much downtime to be able to grind efficiently.

I used Sunder Armor in Battle Stance nearly exclusively while grinding. Charge, Sunder til 5, don't execute, and repeat. Any excess Rage is used for the next mob.

Sunder lets you Overpower very frequently.

Can you explain how Sunder Armor let's you Overpower more frequently ?
I fail to see the relationship between the two...

A dodgeable instant attack. It makes grinding with a 2H much quicker.

Each attack made against an enemy is another chance for it to dodge. Before 40, you won't have any real instant damage attacks, so sundering is usually the best bet.

Ok, so it's actually the type of the ability (being an instant attack) that increases the chances that the mob dodges.
I didn't look at it under that angle.

Thanks for the explanation.

No. They'll dodge Sunder exactly as often as they'll dodge your autoattacks. But Sunder gives you a spammable instant attack, which means there will be more *total* attacks, leading to more total dodges.

Yeah, that's what I meant.
I didn't mean an increase in the mob's "chance to dodge".
