Does anyone know of a nicely laid out spreadsheet which can either reverse engineer an items ilevel based on fixed stats, or calculate an items ilevel as you put theoretical stats into it ?

Along these lines, does anyone know of an addon that add ilvl to the tooltip?

heh. i read this thread at home, and on my way to work decided i was going to post that exact question, since we're using an ilvl based DKP system for naxx and i'm constantly just estimating prices on things since i don't have exact numbers :-P

It has some other uses as well, but http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/a...toryonpar.html will do that for you.

Ilvl is not something that's available to the UI. You only find out ilvl from the data that's in your WDB cache.

That add-on just has a few lua files with the ilevels of known items. It doesn't actually get the item level from the data or whatever, so it's never going to work for new items with unknown ilevels.

Well, that's still a nice start.

Although something that computed the "actual" ilvl based on stats, and perhaps compared it to the "predicted" ilvl, would be nice.

Actually, wait a second. Since everything we see now has "Requires level 60," what is "predicted" ilvl even based on?

Predicted is based on stats. Actual is what is in your WDB cache.

Umm.. my head spins... do people really put so much time and effort on all this math behind the game.

I tried to skim through.. and to me it looks like some calcs behind ranking items. Can someone explain what ilevel is all about? Thanks.
