As a regular forum visitor, I was wondering how you guys were doing in Naxx. I saw no mention of your guild in the Naxx progress threads on the R&D forums (although I assumed you guys just didn't care to post your accomplishments there). I also noticed on those "Official Naxx Progress" threads that pretty much every single guild with published kills was Alliance. Seeing as how EJ is one of the premier Horde guilds (at least in my eyes), I was just wondering how you guys were progressing in Naxx, since there is no mention of Naxx kills on the Guild News forums.

(If you answered this somewhere else, I apologize in advance)

I believe in Harvey Dent.

We killed Anub, Faerlina, Raz, and Noth. Haven't checked out Maexxna yet (gate bugged the night we were going to), haven't attempted Patchwerk beyond one pull when finishing Echoes of War. These fights are all, in my estimation, fine for Horde, and the A/H disparity thus far just reflects population differences. We can/will kill Patchwerk and Grobbulus this week (fairly confident of this based on PTR experience) -- we just basically ran out of time last week. We lost a full day due to the honor calcs bringing our server down for all of Thursday, being a larger guild means that we have dozens of members who still need BWL gear, not to mention AQ40 gear, so that took up a bit of our time, and we've never really been the "raid all night" types.

Thanks a lot for the reply and best of luck this week. If there is such a thing as cheering for someone to kill a boss, I'm doing that for you guys :D

Kaubel's PC exploded last week, but he's up and running again, so fear not, flex shots will be forthcoming.

www.lrguild.org - leading guild on our .eu-realm, and they're doing very well, and update their kills quite fast. Afaik they're working on Patchwerk atm. One of the leading horde guilds in the world, I guess? :)

A question for EJ: How do you think horde fares on some of these DPS races, and how are you managing your shaman?

Taking a glimpse at Vis Maior's Patchwerk video, they seem to have done about 2 million damage in ~200 seconds, resulting in 10000 raid dps, or 500 dps per player for 20 dpsers. Horde in theory have the WF advantage, but no Horde guilds AFAIK have killed Patchwerk.

If your guild mandates tide spec, often a shaman or 2 is dumped with 4 healers, and the rogues sometimes end up doing without one. On a fight like this that oculd be costly, so it does look like a lot of shaman micromanagement will be needed if you want to use mana tide, which in my experience takes a fair amount of attention.

Mana-tide takes 12(?) seconds, after that you move him back into the dps group.

Fun anecdote from Naxx tonight:

"Hmm, what purpose does this whole stables area serve anyway? Why not just pull Raz directly?"

Lovely. This thread reminded me that I was supposed to take flex shots tonight.

Oops.

Pretty much. Our raid leader was shifting shaman around like crazy the whole fight. Even so, I think alliance have a DPS advantage on this guy, mana classes definitely go OOM. (it's 100% doable for horde though!)

It seems to me like dps will be a bit of a nonissue for horde on this fight, aggro doesn't appear to be a huge issue so the dps lost by mages etc. going out of mana will be more than made up for by warriors and rogues going 110%. Windfury. 8)
I may be blowing it slightly out of proportion and aggro may actually be quite a big issue!

Jesus.

I used to have a huge image here, but then it got removed and now I\'ve developed chronic depression and suicidal tendencies. /wrists

No, but DPS certainly is an issue, our mages were actually top DPS on this fight.
