Hello I would like some guidance on some post 1.12 spec thoughts and the relating loot. I am currently combat swords (20/31) with a Brutality Blade and a Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight.

My question is it appears that combat daggers would be far superior to combat swords in the upcoming patch and I was wondering if it was worth banking my Maladath and picking up some daggers. I am currently one of two combat rogues in my guild and I am in a far better position dkp wise to loot cts or claw of the black drake then my fellow rogues.

I wouldn’t bank my maladath if I would create guild animosity, but I want to be the best raid spec possible and if it isn’t swords I would like to switch.

Now I understand that nothing will be confirmed and we really wont be able to judge the viability of certain specs until the PTR’s come out I just want to get some outside opionins on where people lean. I can handle holding off on looting weapons until the patch as long as I know what I am going for.

If you don’t agree with my banking my swords I would like to know how some fellow sword rogues feel and what spec they might try out for a change.

Again any comments would be appreciated and if they happened to be flames I can take em.

On a side note I still haven’t tried Hemo out and I know I still don’t have 1000ap but since the movement of it and the ability to go into duel wield spec or seal fate along with acquiring Hemo I would like to know the viability of said talent specs in relation to my gear.

I plan to stick with my swords (and maybe pick up a Servo Arm to hold me over until Gressil becomes a posibility). I know I'm going to be outdamaged by combat dagger rogues pretty easily for most fights, just by how much is what concerns me. If the disparity is pretty big I would be sad, but I dont think I'm going to go back to daggers for a long time, at least until the expansion is out. Just hold on to to what you've got and see what the number crunchers can math up after the patch. Also being Horde and seeing what is happening to WF in the next patch may impact your choice... Guild may not mind if they see how much more damage you may be doing with some good daggers after the patch.

Profile below. Mish-mash of gear I know. We tend to move on to new content as fast as possible since we only raid 3 nights a week, so tend to not really finish off gear from any specific dungeon.

Using AQR + Pugio right now(got sick of waiting on a Maladath/CTS).

Should I grab the next Servo Arm, or go for a Harbinger for MH? Only 2 realistic upgrades for me right now with my points etc.

And while I'm asking annoying rogue stuff: HoJ vs. Earthstrike? Saw some math awhile back that ES was better as long as you use it with SnD/BF/AR/etc as much as possible. But people can do anything with math if they want=P

Running AQR/Maladath, 1048 AP unbuffed. Going to try combat swords with Murder & Imp Evis to see how well they work with my gear. Will probably then give Perds/AQR a whirl with the new combat sword builds, as the idea of AR with daggers just seems too much fun not to give it a spin.

Was thinking along the same lines with the AR thing. CD is such a boring build, little AR to spice it up could be just the ticket.

But then, Servo Arm + Mace spec build could be really nice too. Decisions decisions.
