Hey all, figured I'd post here instead of the Hunter forums as it seems not many people actually go there.

Does the Blue Dragon trinket (Beasts deck) work for hunters? I'm sure if it did, it would be more DPS output than a 48 ranged attack power trinket on a long boss fight..

I've been wondering this for over a year now. Never found anyone that knew - if anyone has tried, please satisfy my curiosity! My question specifically is whether it procs on Autoshot.

Well hunter mechanics are very interesting. Our shots take mana (like spells), and we respect all casting/regen rules, but in terms of silencing effects we're not affected (for the most part).

Remember when on Majordomo the adds would put up their spell reflecting shield and it would reflect back your shots? It was a bug in the game that was fixed, so I think it'd be safe to say that this wouldn't work for hunters :)

A guildie assembled a deck together, and tested it, it does not work. Needless to say, he wasn't pleased.

There have been a few posts around the place stating that it doesn't work with Hunter shots, but nothing substantial that lists their testing. However I'm fairly sure that if it did actually work there would have been noise from the few that have taken the plunge and tested it.

I took the plunge, and tested it. It doesn't proc on autoshot, and throughout an AQ clear (skeram -> emps) it didn't proc on multi nor aimed shot. It procced when I switched aspects though. :)

I don't want to be a nitpick but Autoshot != spell...therefore you would regain mana while autoshooting. Am I reading the tooltip on the darkmoon card wrong? Or did you just word the situation incorrectly? :)

edit - It seems tricky because the only good use of the card would be to rid the hunter of the 5 second rule after a spell cast. So he was using tracking to proc the card, which allows your aimed/multi(?) to be fired without interupting your regen.

Probably worded poorly, i ment that while he was just autoshooting he would be switching trackings w/o much interuption to his autoshot cycle thus gaining mana back.

I see where you're going with it now...good stuff :) Sounds like it'd be really annoying to do it though ;)

Uh...just use a mindtap? Last I checked, hunter sets are not exactly loaded with spirit and you get a tick or 2 of regen every cycle anyway. Mindtap should be A LOT better than blue dragon as hunter.
