I guess that depends where you tank him, because where we tank him, eating a buffet knocks you back about 1 step.

Yeah, that does change it - but it still affects your DPs, and when you're parsing, you want a situation where there is no variable that can potentially affect one class more than another.

So is it safe to say that rogue, mages, warlock and hunters can use this as an test case for static fight DPS, just like patchwerk? If threat is a problem for DPS warriors (which it has never been in my experience) they can taunt and deagro.

Remember he is immune to fire which may affect some of your casters depending on their spec

I'm personally thinking ragnaros would be a great test for caster and hunter dps at least, or any fight in mc for that matter.

wouldn't Razuvious be a better test platform for melee DPS? and assuming you have your timer mods working correctly, the ranged DPS should be doing dmg most of the time anyways (maybe factor in x-% added dmg for the ranged?)

Golemagg would seem to be a perfect testing ground. My only questions would be if is his armor is too high, his health too low (resulting in too short of a fight), or his FR is too great. I don't know if any of those would be limiting factors.

For the OP's rogue DPS "problem," I would ask if they really know how to play their spec. A good spec is a good start, but if a dagger rogue is playing like a sword rogue (using evis?) or if he's not using a cycle but more just sort of "clicking the buttons," then he won't be performing optimally.

Of course, broaching the topic of "L2P" with anyone is always...touchy, so good luck trying to change things if that is their problem =)

Ragnoras isn't, as casters get knocked around randomly. He's also immune to fire, which is bad for fire mages / warlocks dps. Golemaggs about the best in MC, but suffers from random pyroblasting of members, which slows casting time.

Golamgga also goes insane at 10%, thus reducing DPS warrior output, pyroblasts casters and so slowing down their casting rate, and I think he has fairly high armour as well compared to the average raid mob.

TBH, Patchwerk is clearly the best parsing mob for pure damage output. Outside of that, I'd say Ebonroc was the closest.

That's most likely your problem.

Patch is pretty plainly the best. Ebonroc is a good alternative - we, at least, don't require all our warriors on taunt duty, so DPS warriors can testbed there for us. Flamegor is also acceptable for non-hunter DPS if your hunters don't suck (i.e. no novas, no caster interrupts).

Servants of whatever in the blasted lands should work as a target dummy.

If casters get knocked around at Ragnaros you need to look at your positioning.
