With the release of RDX6 in Alpha and the free availability of RDX5 now, this particular first post no longer applies.

Check out www.rdx-raid.com for all your RDX needs.

Honestly, that version used to be on Filefront and was taken down, I assume at the request of others. Correct me if I'm wrong (and feel free to replace the link if so), but that's Conquest's internal version and only really differs substantively from the semi-public release of RDX5 in that it contains all their boss mods. That really doesn't need to be circulated here. If you want a cool raid UI, check out RDX5. If you want slick Naxx bossmods, make your own like the rest of us do.

If people want to discuss RDX, that's fine, so it doesn't clog up the broader UI thread.

I did a bit of Googling the other day but I couldn't find any substantial information about RDX. Just out of curiosity, how does it set itself apart from good ol' CTRA? And, is there a public version available?

Edit- Oh, just found out there's a few pages about it in the other Mod thread.

Conquest's UI forums has a stripped down public version of RDX5, but it gives you a taste of what it can do. Just google it, it is the first link.

It is very "cool" (but doesn't have documentation), but I fear when 1.12 hits and it will break. It seems the author will sell the mod, but that hasn't been finalized.

What makes RDX nice are the boss mobs are stronger that CT raid's, and you can create customizable lists of people with their health bars on it. In the UI thread there are a few pictures of RDX5 in action.

Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.'

Its got a lot more than the bossmods. In fact though many of their "boss scripts" are missing all the data for it. Its got some excellent examples of how to begin inputting your own though. The big thing that this version has is Tooltips (so you actually know wtf some of those buttons do), all the logistics stuff, all the buff/debuff stuff, etc.

Oh and I think the version that was removed upon request was actually the leaked Scions of Destiny version, Veneficus wanted very strict control over his copies.

The boss mods aren't even what makes it great IMO. It's the functionality of the raid windows that makes RDX way better than CTRA. Kaubel even noted in the "Mod" thread how nice they are. I don't even have a firm grasp yet on all that they can do but even with my limited understanding I don't think I could handle having to look at CTRA frames again. I cringe at the thought of having to switch back.

What I like most is not having 100 lines of CT Raid spam fill the center of my screen and my chat windows. Its a bit unfortunate that this version's boss mods though are all hard coded for the location of the timer bars and other items, it would be great if I could disable timers/announces that I don't need as a healer (chromag spell vulnerability, etc) like you can do in BigWigs.

Well, if someone wants to package up a version of RDX5 that has the tooltips and such intact, but not the custom bossmods and such, I have no problem with that being distributed here.

Basically, I know that all versions of RDX5 are "leaked" in some manner or another. But RDX5 has been circulating for months now and really isn't remotely confidential. The Scions of Destiny RDX boards have a bit of discussion about public use of some of the features and such, as well. But the Conquest-modified version has only been leaked once, and the filefront link to that copy was taken down. I mean, if the relevant parties are fine with it being linked here, then whatever, but I'd rather respect people's hard work making this stuff where possible.

No problem Gurg, I can easily redo that zip to remove the boss directory, its simply loaded as a module into the main RDX client if present. That leaves it with just the UI functionality which is 99% of why most people wanted to use it I suspect. Like I said, I've opened up the bossmods files to take a look at the them and most are missing all the code except a start/stop timer function once the boss is engaged. Naxx has a few functional ones, and their C'thun warnings rock the cazba.

I haven't had any first hand experiance with RDX5, is it useful for non healers? What does it provide besides a nicer looking raid frame? As a warrior what does this mod give me that CTRA + NECB doesn't do?

the RDX main page does not play nice with my work internet filter, so I'll ask here: If I wanted to use the raid frames instead of ctra, but still be able to work with the rest of the raid who's using CTRA, would I install just RDX? Both RDX and CTRA? How do they interact if at all?

Fukasa, I guess as a warrior it doesn't give you much other than the raid frames as far as I can tell. My main is a mage and along with the raid frames the debuff/decure function makes for a bit more fun than mindlessly mashing the decursive button.

Lurch, with just RDX installed all you would miss is the checks. The rest of my guild still uses CTRA and I constantly get asked if I'm AFK or not. Otherwise you'll still see the CTRA warning spam in your chatbox, which I prefer as the on screen warnings are annoying as hell.

The best thing you'd gain is the ability to view your raid in a "non standard" way.... maybe you want warriors in a group, sorted by current health%, and the health display shows either a %, current health or missing health. Maybe you make a warrior window that only populates with names of warriors that are below 30% health (sort of like a class emergency bar). Perhaps you want a list of healers who's mana pool is below 25%. Lots of possibilities. The point is that with RDX you are not constrained to what some guy in his mom's basement thinks your raid interface should look like - design it yourself with a few easy mouse clicks.

Shift + Click to drag windows.

And no, no readme. Most of the mod is "figure it out as you go" although nothing is *terribly* hard.

Oh and here's a BIG hint for you all-
When setting up the filters for windows, if you are trying to filter by class or group, make sure you first click the tiny, almost hidden check-box that says "Filter by Class/Group" otherwise it will do NOTHING when you try to only show one class or one group, etc.

We officially released a public version and would prefer it if people use this version rather than the stolen and leaked copy. I believe it contains all boss mods upto the twin emps.

You can find out more here: http://conquest.teamgbu.com/viewtopic.php?t=1689

Is there a way to auto hide all your windows when not in a raid? I can't find one :-(

Mythic, you can hide/unhide RDX via the RDX keybinding options near the bottom of the keybindings page.

The thing that kills me about RDX is that I can't seem to sort by class and/or color player names by class. If I could find some way to do this I'd be all over it. I'm just too used to having CTRA sorted by class to go without that ability :(

You can make a window for each class to get around this. Use the filter options. Also note that if you get the windows close to each other they will "snap" and auto align for you. Can be an easy way to build a class oriented raid UI.

If you create a new window right click on bar. A menu should pop up click on the filter button and you should be able to show each class indiviusaly.

Eh, I was hoping for more of a "Sort by: Class" option in a pane full of healers, for instance, but I guess that will work
