Terenas, my current guilds server, has been borked now for over a 3 weeks. Basically 5 sec cast on instant casts everynight and massive lag spikes coming every 10 minutes.

Everyone on the server and my guild is clamoring for a server change :( As much as I love terenas, been playing on it since the first day I just don't know how much longer I can take it. I just wanted to know your guys perspective on transferring a raiding guild? could it work? What types of things should be think about before looking to transferring? Thnx.

Aside from the known issues Blizzard already provided (mail, AH, guild leadership) you'd basically be safe. And you get the advantage of a free rename if you play your cards right (do they check lvl 1 alts? I don't think they did with "normal" realmtransfers).

You can always create a level 1 alt if you want to get a rename.

In a different thread (by Jagermastro), someone responded saying that their guild transfered to Mal Ganis and are happy about it.

For the love of god don't transfer to Mal'ganis. We've got regular server lag now, combined with queues during primetime every night.

Edit: just wiped to Gothik due to a server hang. So much for new hardware.

Welcome nothing, we had this shit months ago and it left us when we got our hardware transfered. The server transfers overwhelming our new hardware is just a belated kick in the nuts.

Mal'ganis is a pretty good sever. Most of these other guys are just being selfish and want to keep it to themselves. Haven't had any lag/crashes in months and it's still got a massive Horde overpopulation so we could use some more alliance guilds.

Transfers are starting to make BDF lag too, it makes me sad.

We aren't looking to transfer to any of the already well "defined" servers. Just somewhere we can raid :(

The one nice thing about the massive exodus off of Warsong is that it fixed the server lag... haha I'm joking. The server still has random lag spikes of 3-5 to sometimes 10 seconds in instances and is schitzophrenic in the overworld. Thankfully it is not up to the whole "let's dump every guild in BWL into the Alterac Mountains" phase any more.

I don't get why everyone is getting all freaked out. Cull never said that he was even thinking about transferring to Mal'Ganis, just your opinions on guild transfers.

My guild transfered( To mal'ganis) and we're very happy about it.

Just be sure to do your research and talk with a resident uber-guild of that server before you choose one. Find out what the lag is like and what the PVP is like. Currently there are guilds that are transfering to Mal'Ganis for reasons that were true when we transfered, but no longer does Mal'Ganis have no alliance queues, nor do they have great server reliability.
