Good morning childs.

Please forgive me if this has been posted previously but there was nothing terrifically extensive when I searched for it. Been reading the forums for sometime as my job conveniently allows me to use a browser most of the time, discretely :) It also allows me to occasionally have time parse the previous nights combat logs, which I admit, largely I suck at.

So here's the thing, until a couple of weeks ago, I had assumed Imp. Demoralising Shout was a massively worthless piece of poop but had a nagging feeling that it scaled better, the badder the mob.

I'm the MT for my guild and my sister guild and have had a variety of specs over the last 18 months, but have not really looked at Imp demo twice, however since the advent of Naxx and zones that aren't on farm, I'm looking to maximise the damage reduction from my spec and indeed my gear - http://ctprofiles.net/1817425 (We never ever talk about the shield. Ever.)

After my very rudimentary parsing and analysis of one of our Anub'Rekhan fights, I noticed that there was a very marked reduction per hit when Demo shout was active, in fact it was so noticeable during the fight that it caused me to look further in to it.

The reduction of untalented demo shout on Anub appears to be roughly 15% on the pure melee damage, in my gear and standard raid buffs, that's about 230 per hit difference. Now if that were talented, could I expect to see a solid 21% reduction to the melee damage affected by Imp Demo making 322 per hit reduction?

Obviously the static values are specific only to Anub, but surely the percentages would be applicable across the board and would be even more noticeably on fights involving disproportionate AP adjustments (Unbalancing strike)

If anyone else has run the number on this, or has any input or needs more information, please feel free to post or just correct my appalling math and complete failure to grasp basic concepts. :)

As the warrior class rep for my guild, I try to have my warriors going past cruelty in fury to spec imp demo (especially arms fury as unbridled wrath is a joke for 3.4-3.8 speed weapons). I'm personally Arms/Fury at the moment and have it and I try to keep it up on as many bosses as possible (with the exception of Razuvious adds but they aren't very threatening). Some bosses (drakes in bwl, broodlord, satura, vek'nilash if you're feeling frisky about bug aggro) it is highly useful in reducing their overall damage, and the IMP demo makes a huge difference on top of the already good skill.

If anything, it counteracts the curse of recklessness we use on many bosses these days, so spec it if you aren't going to get anything out of unbridled wrath (and booming voice is just lazy spec >.<) it doesn't hurt in the least, and the usefulness is becoming more apparent every day.

Well I did benefit massively from UW originally, but have since removed it in the name of mitigation > aggro

As far as the point on Vek and the bug aggro... imo.. the aggro is easily counterable by your bug team and the 2k+ reduction in Unbalancing Spikes(sic)

Actually, when I tank Twin Emps, it's possible to find a place to tank where you can demo shout spam without aggroing any bugs at all, I noticed it is slightly easier on the right side of the room (as you face them) due to the placement of the bugs, but it makes it a lot easier to deal with Vek'nilash's damage that way.

Well.. 3/3 Shield block is just kinda a placeholder along with 3/3 HS tbh.. Kinda working around having Vitality when it hits.. and having used it for a month.. yes it is as completley pointless as it seems :P

No TM is easy.. haven't had it for best part of a year aside from PvP/Dps respecs.. I just don't find any need for it while raiding.. There are terribly few situations where I need to change stance, and fewer still where I need to change stance and am in Dire need of more than 10 Rage.
