Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here knew what would be best to offhand, Corehound Tooth or Dagger of Veiled shadows? the cc exhaulted aq reward. The aq dagger has 0.5dps more drops 0.5% crit but gains 2ap, +1hit and is 0.2 speed slower over the corehound tooth, this is for pve ofc with crusader on offhand as enchant. Any suggestions?

thanks.

Sorry to go offtopic but does anyone see the most glaring lack of itemization to actual offhand daggers?

Of the Epic daggers that actually drop in instances we have them ranging from 1.8 to 1.6.... with the fasted blue / crap epics being 1.3 speed.

Swords go from 2.8 / 2.9 all the way down to 1.6, same with claws / maces.

So REAL offhand dagger itemization where art thou !

Just go look at the dagger dps spreadsheet, put in the different gear and see what it spits out? Even if you aren't combat daggers you can change the talents and the difference won't be that big from what the effect will be for you.

Off the top of my head, I'd say that if you use the 3 pc set bonus from VS and you use SnD, then that dagger will be better because energy returns are pretty much awesome. However, the corehound tooth probably has better damage stats, esp. factoring in poisons on top of other things.

Of course, if you would like to lose the 5% critchance for your offhand.

I suppose that would be something to weigh in.

veiled shadows is slightly more damage ( as a combat build) at the cost of 9 stam. They are really about equal in most peoples eyes and for the record you shouldnt have crusader on your offhand 15agi that dagger.

Truth on both counts. If you use the other two pieces of Veiled Shadows then definitely use that dagger. If not, either/or.

I have heard an unconfirmed rumour, that the 5% crit is an aura that applies for both weapons as long as the mainhand is a dagger. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

In the spreadsheet with my current gear and 1.12 build, I'm at 526.76 unbuffed. With Crusader offhand it's 526.75. So...yeah. Almost no difference in damage, but the 15 AGI has other benefits.

Unbuffed, yeah, about the same or Crusader is slightly better if you're not quite at your gear level. Buffed 15agi is unequivocally better in the off-hand, though.

As for CHT vs DoVS, it's about the same, though mostly DoVs is slightly better.

Used to be true. Hasn't been for months.
